I have decided to use a greatsword and longbow warrior, the greatsword my main weapon and switching to longbow if they try to escape or if I have a good distance at the beginning. For this build I’ve decided to use a 30/0/0/20/20. The trait skills I’m using are VI/IX/XI, V/X, III/VII. If you think there is anything that could be down to make it better please tell me, I’m new to the game and am always learning
I have decided to use a shortbow to whittle down health as much as I can until I can use melee, where I will switch to a sword and axe for ny melee. I have decided that my build will be 0/30/10/20/20. I was wondering if that build would suit my playstyle. The trait skills I will use are III/VIII/XI, III, VI, II/XII. I think theses skills would compliment my playstyle. I intend to be very evasive and try to avoid being hit. I’m going to use traps a lot as well whilst I’m in melee to put conditions on them I’m not sure what pets to use though. I am thinking of using, on land, a salamander drake and a lynx and in the water a shark and either a carrion devourer or a whitetail devourer, I’m not sure. If you have any other suggestions/improvements please tell me and adjust my build to make it right please.

I have heard arguments for and against both of the weapons and I’m not sure which one I whatnot go with. I have looked at both skill sets and I don’t know what to use. I would use it to whittle down as much health as possible before they get to melee and then I will switch to sword and dagger. It seems to me that shortbows need to be much more mobile than a longbow. Also that longbow you need to be as far away as possible to get max potential. These both work to my advantage with my playstyle so I don’t what to choose. I think I might go with a abortive because you can bleed on your auto, which is goos burn in not entirely sure. Which weapon would be best for my sort of playstyle?
I have decided to go with a lockdown build with my mesmer, because I would assume that they would have a good rate of survivability, if an opponent can’t do anything they can’t hurt you. So I looked at some guides but they didn’t give much info on what traits, how to use skills and so on. All I got was to use staff/sword+focus, use mantra of healing, veil, feedback, signet of inspiration and time warp. So I basically only got the loadout, not what traits or how to play it. I don’t know what traits to do, I was thinking of a 30/20/20/0/0 but I wasn’t sure what trait skills to use. I also don’t really know how to play as a lockdown build. I’ve heard they are hard to learn but when you get it right it is very rewarding. So I need help with the play style of a lockdown, and help with my traits. Also any advice on Lockdown builds
I don’t think all the classes should be able to use it, since some classes it just wouldn’t work, like the thief running around with a spear would be a bit ridiculous. I think the classes with spear should be warrior, guardian, elementalist and necromancer
Ok thanks for the help. I think I’m going to go to sylvari territory
I have decided I’m going to have a light armour class a an alt but I’m not sure what one to go with. I’ve played each of them up to level 5ish to test them all out but I don’t know which one I like best.
I think mesmers are cool but I find they die a bit if the enemy focuses on them instead of clones or phantasms, but I think I’m leaning towards mesmer the most.
I think eles would be good for pve because of their adaptability but I’m not really sure about playing them.
As for necros, using mind them but I don’t really like their playstyle, because they are a glass cannon ish class from my point of view.
I don’t really know what to pick. I think I’ll go with a mesmer but I’m not exactly sure. I play mostly pve and I don’t really like PvP that much. I’m not too sure of their extensive play style because I only played a bit so I am not entirely sure about my overviews but that’s what I think so far.
Where in divinities reach is the asura gate to Lions arch? And when you get to Lions arch will you be by all the other asura gates to the other races?
I have run into a point in my levels where I’ve fully completed everything in Queensdale, I have a human warrior, and the only way to level up would be to just grind endlessly and I don’t like that sort of levelling. I find it gets quite repetitive after a while and it gets boring. I was wondering how you get to other races starting area. I know you have to use issues gates but I don’t understand how they work and where to get the right ones.
Also which other race should I go to to train with? I’m stuck around level 15 so I want events an hearts to do around that level, and decent monsters that level to find.
I am not sure if I want to get the greatsword or a hammer to fight with. I use a mace and shield for defensive and with allies but I’m not sure what weapon to play with when I’m soloing or I want good damage. I have used a hammer and I know all the skills but I haven’t used a greatsword yet though. I was playing on my main and I noticed a guardian with a greatsword playing and I thought that the skills were really good and the guardian was dealing out damage. I was wondering if I should switch to greatsword for soloing. Which one is better, greatsword or hammer?
I don’t mind the voice, it’s just really unexpected especially as norn are the only other humanlike race (looks wise) so you would expect female’s to sound like the human female’s.
I might be the only one who thinks this but I expected the female voice to be higher. It just doesn’t sound that feminine to me. I understand how norns are absolutely massive so they would be expected to have deep voices but I think it sounds to deep for a Female.
I am not sure which one to choose. I have decided to go with a greatsword in my main-hand and I was a ranged option but I’m not sure which one to go for, an which one would go best paired with a greatsword. I will probably only use it when they are far away or when they a4 retreating, otherwise I’ll mainly be using my greatsword
6/10 I will say it’s definitely a really unique name but it seems very long and it isn’t really a typical norn name.
Mine is a female guardian called Jorunna Wolfkin
7/10 cause it’s a cool name, with it being A lioness in Latin but I think it could of been just leaena.
Mine is Lilliana Bladesong. She’s a warrior who grew up on the streets and she got given the last name Bladesong because of her talent with her prized greatsword
I just got gw2 and i really like it and i was wondering how many computers i can get gw2 on from one account. My brother would like to play it and it would be a waste of money to buy it again since im only using two slots, and i would be a lot of effort to keep letting him use my laptop, i was wondering if i could use my account to download the game on his laptop
I have started armourcrafting so I can craft my own sets of armour, since you can only get chainmail from shops and I was wondering what the quickest way to level up my skill level was. I would like it to be quick and cheap so I can get it done without spending too much. I only really want to get a few tiers in so I can always make my own armour that’s level appropriate for me.
I was wondering if the only way was to keep crafting until I level up but is there anyway to do it quickly, getting the resources quickly and everything. Thanks
I think that’s the one I’m talking about. I got scale shoulder pads from the biography by saying I wore no helm, and I got the gloves from completing the street storyline for humas
I am a human warrior and I have some bits of scale armour and I really like the look of it, especially combined with some of thebl dyes you can get. Was wondering where he closest place to get scale armour would be. I checked the trading post but there was nothing my level. Where can I get some scale armour, what are its min level requirements and how much would it be? The only shops near me sell chainmail
Cool. Thanks guys. I think I will save up for that armour
I have a new ele and have experimented with a staff and accepted and focus, and I was wondering what weapons set was good for pve. I was thinking of a dual dagger build as a purely offense build, as a kind of kill them before they kill you build. I was wondering what traits and skills that would us though. I was thinking of spending in fire and air magic traits and then in arcane and my skills would be some arcane spells, glyphs and conjure skills. Would this be a good build?
I am currently trying a thief, ranger and elementalist and I have them quite low levelled, though I think I know kind of what their play style is already but I was wondering what class has the best solo pve survivability. I also might play some wvw when I’m higher levelled but I think most of the time levelling an end game I’ll be pveing and different places. I’m not sure what class to play for that.
I think I’m going to stick with my thief and ranger since I like thief s generally and rangers pets are quite cool but I’m not sure what else to have. I have decided I will have one of each race but I not sure what classes they will be. I am not sure really about my ele but I would assume that they have good survivability, it’s just what weapons you use.
So can you also tell me what weapons would work wel l for a survivor role. I don’t want a tank just someone with good damage, single and multi target that won die easily when faced with a mob or a boss.
Is there a way to get zojjas armour in the game? I think it looks really cool an I would log to have it but it’s probably not available. If it is how can I get it?
That doesn’t really answer my questions. If we get targeted instead of our pets, how well could we survive. I’ve had quite a few monsters targeting me instead of a pet but I always just managed to get out of it.
Ok, thanks for the help
If we are stuck without our minions, how well would we do. Also is a dual dagger build not a good one or could I use that instead of a focus/warhorn.
I am thinking of making an asuran necromancer, but I wasn’t sure how well we soloed. I heard necromancers do it quite well, but if we don’t have our minions how well do we do? I was going to go for a life drainer type of necromancer, so that would solo quite well, but I’m a bit sceptical since we are a scholar and they aren’t meant to be strong. Also if I go for a life stealer/dd role, what weapons should I have?
I played a bit of mesmer before but I was dying a lot because the monsters attacked me instead of my clones and I was wondering if rangers were like that. If a monster focuses on us instead of pets, would we be able to hold out or would we die?
The name Freya was taken so I chose to have Jorunna Wolfkin, with a wolf called silver, a Snow leopard called frost and an ice drake with no name yet.
I’m stuck on a name for my female norn ranger. I would like to struck to viking names because norn are meant to have vikingy names, also a connection with wolves since I love wolves an that’s what my pet is going to be. On the subject of pets, I also need a wolf name. I was going to do something like Fang or Silver or something like that, so could someone give me a name for my wolf as well.
I was looking for a guide for this as well, I haven’t found one yet but people say you have to stay at range or you will get smashed, since staffs are a ranged weapon, most out of all the ele weapons. You also need to predict where they are going so you can hit them effectively with aoes. About skills and traits I have no idea though. Hopefully someone else can provide that info, and maybe a proper guide.
