Awesome. Thanks for reposting this, Chopps! I wouldn’t have seen it otherwise.
Pretty sure I got a crystalline dust the last time I did Fractals Urban Battlegrounds, maybe last week or so. It was a guild group and we killed all the ghosts between Siegemaster Dulfy and the courtyard for loot. I don’t think PUGs usually take the time to do that, since the running from group to group takes a while and isn’t crucial to the Fractal’s success.
@ Thomas Kaira, I’d totally forgotten about going to AC, that’s a good option.
It occurs to me that players who are often solo might be in a rough spot though.

@ ZudetGambeous, yeah. Rangers are a disadvantage if they’re not paying attention to their pets.
For any rangers reading, if you can keybind F1 and F3 to your mouse to sic your pet on an enemy and recall them when necessary, it’ll make your dungeon lives SO much easier.
Also, like Hrouda said, try to stay near your pets in this dungeon, like within 600 range. Less chance of them running over traps because of weird pathing issues.

Raptor, because Shrieksy in the asura storyline.
Young karka if we can’t have an armadillo.
I love the dolyak idea above, and the idea of having a skritt made me laugh. Wouldn’t be long until I wanted to put it back because it’s stealing my shiny sequined underwear or something. :P
I beat Canach solo instance with two cats by staying near a single trap with a safe spot nearby. Sic the cat on him and make sure to keep that trap green so you can lure him on it. (You don’t have to use a cat, I forgot to switch out is all…)
IMHO guardian was harder than ranger and thief was just @#%^!!.
In regard to the NULL exp fight, my party stayed near the entrance where there are two poison gas traps. if you squish yourself in there good, you can avoid the sparks later. I sent my cats after NULL and took the job of keeping the two poison gas traps green.
My second set of weapons contained an off-hand axe, so I also reflected the healing turrets’ bullets where I could. Pretty sure I was the only person in the party who had a reflect equipped.
If you press skill 1 on the mine detector and look carefully above the traps, there is an icon that matches the skill you need to disarm them.

If Anet were to offer something like the item described by the OP, I’d think they’d send the message that they condone players ignoring their content and getting to be uber-80s as long as those players have the cash to pay to skip.

I don’t know if there is a point where Signet of the Wild trumps Signet of Stone based on healing power, but in my experience, 200-300 healing is plenty for most content, and 400-ish is good for condition-heavy encounters.
I go by type of content to determine which signet to carry. From a PvE perspective, Wild is better in condition heavy but otherwise relatively easy encounters, such as all of CoF, TA’s Nightmare Vines room, the Spider Queen encounter in AC, and legendary imbued shaman in Volcanic Fractal. For everything else, if I could only have one, I would prefer Stone.
I got here from here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Snowflake-Giver-Gear-Bugged
I added exquisite snowflake jewels to two mastercraft opal rings and two earrings. I should see an increase in guardian skills like Empower, with a base duration of 10 seconds, because the tooltips appear to reflect duration in 1/4 second increments. I see no change in any tooltips on any skills, though the hero panel reflects the additional 4% duration.
There was an update today but this was clearly not on its list of fixes. Please fix snowflake gear. It’s been over two months since Wintersday started.

Played guardian while trying to fill the combo killer portion of daily. It was incredibly tough to trigger the killing blow using greatsword and hammer finishers. I avoided laying down my own fields and some friends dropped fields for me as I ran around killing things and flinging up auras (combo with chaos storm and fire fields) and area might (combo with fire fields).
Another guildie was guardian, she gave up. Two mesmer friends managed to finish fast. Sorry I can’t give more information, the daily reset pretty soon after we tried to fill it in Bloodtide Coast by following the ghostly pirate chain event that starts just outside the exit from Lion’s Arch. We also killed other random mobs along the event line. It seemed like many combo kills were simply not registering, at least on guardian…
p.s. No, I never filled the bar and was stuck at 4/10 kills when the daily reset.

How about allowing players who are following the storyline count their story quests as events for the daily achievement?
I leveled my second character, a guardian, to ~60 before starting her story because it’d be easier and I would be better able to remember what happened, but I’ve been mainly going from waypoint to waypoint. Having to find events for the daily when I’m doing story missions is like being constantly interrupted in my movie/epic adventure.

I want to say on this forum that I’m for finding a way to let us play in PvE or dungeon/story instances across all regions.
I purchased this game with the expectation that I could play with all of my friends all over the world eventually via guesting. I’d be willing to lose WvW and guild perks temporarily for that benefit, if that’s part of the issue.

I’m with Vick’s suggestion since I have all the disciplines maxed on different characters with the thought that future ascended items might require multiple maxed crafting skills to produce.
It’s been a month so I don’t know if your setup has been fixed but I am having the same issue with ranger axe skill #3 “Winter’s Bite” and the utility skill “Frost Spirit.”
I have 2x Ice and 2x Svanir, and instead of 2x Rune of Sanctuary, I’m using 2x Rune of Grenth. I also have 2x Superior Sigil of Chilling on dual axes for an additional 2x 10% frozen duration. (Related bug: Major Sigil of Chilling says it gives 20% frozen duration.)
The tooltip on Winter’s Bite and Frost Spirit don’t update to reflect any additional chill duration, and I can’t see any effect.
When I eat a veggie pizza (+16% condition duration), however, at least the tooltips update to reflect a slightly longer duration.

I like that the toy golem is inconspicuous, so I can pretend to be part of the landscape.
It also shows a tiny version of my backpiece. Animated flames FTW.
I personally think it’s a bug because it’s inconsistent with all the other Lv400 recipes out there. My Lv42 guardian (artificer400) has been carrying around a corrupted branch recipe for days. It would be nice if this was fixed, even though I eventually intend to level her to 80.
Six tries to get the endless toy golem tonic. I’m a little scared to try for anything else after reading this thread, I was already debating about continuing after burning through a stack of glue and stuffing each. The toy golem was the only one that I really, really wanted though. It jumps and I can talk to NPCs while transformed in it! (EDIT: I mentioned that because I also tried a festive golem tonic, and that one doesn’t jump and I can’t talk to NPCs while transformed.)

@Marnick, I’m assuming magic find does what it’s advertised to do. The funny thing is that I usually carry Valkyrie and I kill noticeably faster with my Explorer’s set and its +power and +precision. I’ve found the third stat is unnecessary for farming especially when using consumables.
@Paradox, I assume the drop rate would be influenced, but nobody really knows how.
What I’ve been doing is assuming (so many assumptions, I know) Diminishing Returns won’t kick in for at least an hour and a half. Thus I farm for 30 minutes and take a couple minutes’ break when my consumables run out. Then I’ll go back for a second session. I’m only really farming for about an hour at a time.
At 3-4 young karka dead per minute, I’ll get ~10 shells per hour. That’s still painfully slow, but I wanted to get a feel for how long it’d take to farm all 1000 shells for the exotic accessory.
(edited by Tierce.5370)
With ~150% MF on, I can kill 3-4 young karka per minute, or around 100 per 30 minutes, and during that time I have been getting 4-7 shells. I suspect that a rough estimate of young karka’s base drop rate (with zero Magic Find) for karka shells is about two percent.
World: Aurora Glade
Guild: And You [Are]
Guild Bank NPC tells me that my characters not in a guild but they are representing, with permissions to access the Guild Stash. They have accessed the Guild Stash before, but about 2-3 days ago I discovered they were suddenly unable to do so.
I still have two characters parked outside a Guild Bank NPC so I can occasionally check to see if they can access the Guild Stash. No joy yet.
