I agree to what you mean, we need at least 2 skills that have reveal on each class.
However your example seems a bit overpowered.
I don’t think this thread can even achieve anything to be honest. This problem exists in every decently large game. Either the person is too sensitive, or the moderators just don’t care too much about the abundance of small tiny problems we have. However, I guess there should be something done about someone who is reported quite frequently, and I’m sure there is something that they do to said people.
This thread is quite unlikely to change much, because these are just one of the inevitable and inevitable problems of the internet in general.
I said it once, but ill say it again, these problems aren’t personal views, because even the P/P thief problem is kind of trivial to me, since I often don’t switch to ranged weapons on my thief. I have heard these problems in abundance in forums and in-game. Perhaps people might not have these problems in-game though, because I’ve been out of town and unable to log on.These problems don’t affect me at all honestly, I just thought at others were complaining about them, but perhaps I’m wrong.
Actually besides the first P/P problem I talked about, the other problems are things I have heard over and over again by other people. They aren’t really MY opinions, because I don’t share their experiences. However, if you guys don’t think my examples of problems are valid, then ill take em out of the OP. P.S. who made the word OP to describe the owner of a thread and what does it stand for?
And Anet is good at nipping small problems or very simple problems in the bud (Which isn’t even the case some times E.g. Hobo Sacks) However these problems require some serious reworking.

Sheesh. I feel bad for you. My elementalist is going to be running similar stats when it becomes 80 too, so I can understand your frustration.
While I cannot say that I have been very negatively affected by the changes in these recent patches, on the forums alone and undoubtedly in the game you see copious amounts of serious problems that can take large sums of gold to solve, and even if nothing can be done to fix these problems, the devs aren’t justified by ANY reason to just ignore the plethora of problems. Even though I haven’t ran into too many problems (Besides pistol/pistol thief being nerfed irrationally into the ground), I can feel the pain of these people, because if I had advanced further in the game than I am now (Only have two level 80s) I would run into these problems with no doubt.
I’m going to list just a few of the serious issues I think ought to be addressed.
·Thief should have ricochet again(Or some rework to make P/P not useless)
·Necromancer has ran into some nerds that I find to be so exceedingly unnecessary like; the nerfed on consume conditions was not needed at all, I’d hardly hear any complaints about it, condition necromancer is pretty sucky now because you can legit KILL yourself trying to use conditions, go figure. This make less builds viable than before.
·Hybrid builds took a large blow due to changes to celestial stats and the fact that they removed the stats you could get from trait lines. This is a harder problem because they took out those stats for a good reason, but nonetheless it hurts some builds.
So, I don’t know if this has been nerfed or not, since I’ll been out of town for a couple of weeks, and im not sure if i really want it to be nerfed since I main thief, but thanks to the grandmaster trait ‘No Quarter’ as long as I occasionally crit, I get fury every 2 seconds or so (I might be wrong) and I get increased ferocity when I have fury on. Since this procs very frequently, the duration of the fury is longer than the cool down of the ability, allowing me to permanently boost it if I am always attacking. This makes it a very strong trait in pve, and to some extent in PvP/wvw. In WvW you could just kill a couple of trash mobs then you have perma fury.
I feel like this could introduce builds that build less into precision and maybe something else, so that berserkers might not be meta any longer.
What are your thoughts on this? I’m positive I’m going to be yelled at someone for telling them about the trait.
I am positive this trait isn’t game-breaking because unlike a lot of overpowered traits, this one isn’t really noticeable, and it is very easy to counter.

I’ve been looking at the trap ranger and it looks very interesting, but a couple of weeks ago when I tried it, I didn’t have runes of the trapper so I essentially couldn’t play it the way I wanted to. I don’t see much of a reason not to add it to PvP, I know I wouldn’t be the only one to appreciate them.
Well, if you go into the thief and elementalist forums especially you’d see more rageful comments, I only put it in here because I didn’t want to make 2 threads.
I understand a lot of us are a bit upset with the weapons and changes that are coming into place, but let’s think properly, even if it’s for a second.
1. There is absolutely no point in complaining about changes that are most likely set in stone. We know they are set in stone because not only do we have data (From data-mines) for said specializations, we also are going to have livestreams talking about the specializations in the near, near future. It’d be quite difficult for the devs to make something completely different in such a short amount of time, and if they DO complete something, I doubt it would be good to any extent if it is rushed.
2. You have absolutely no idea how the weapon skills will work. Just to clarify, I’m not someone who feels no frustration for the weapons that are coming to certain classes. I main thief, so the whole melee staff is kind of making me nervous, but I have absolutely NO idea of what is actually going to be within the staff specialization, so I’m not going to be one of those people who quits thief because of something I still have very little info about. Also, a lot of people are disappointed about elementalist getting warhorn, but I am actually intrigued about this. I also care about elemental a lot because it was my starting class in gw2, I’m not at all surprised A net decided not to use sword, because they do not like sticking to generic ideas.
I don’t post often at all, but I don’t feel like we need a whole bunch of broken records saying “That isn’t the weapon I want!”
P.S. I know you don’t see these complaints in general chat, but you see them in the separate class forums, so I thought it would be best to put the thread here.

Well, it seems that D/P thief will have to be a bit different because we don’t have infusion of shadow, so I won’t be going into shadow arts, I’ll just make a steal oriented build.
I fully support this.
As a thief myself, I don’t enjoy fighting elementalists, because of the sheer fact that I can backstab them three times, and they are already done for, and they had little to no chance to take me down unless they were quite skilled. If there is a weakest PVP class, it’s Elementalist. Elementalist is the only class that requires people to use the same traits to stay alive, when all the classes I’ve played offer so much liberty, even when it comes down to WvW and Spvp. Other light armor classes don’t suffer from it because necromancer’s have many ways to heal themselves efficiently, and Mesmer’s have extreme DPS, and annoying clones that will really get in your way. Even though they have crappy heal abilities, they can burst you down before you can even do anything.
However elementalists, while having high dps, are beyond too squishy because while they have a great healing potential, are you really going to let an ele switch to water and heal all their health back? By then, someone with even a low skill level like me can interrupt their heals and burst them down.
While this issue could be fixed in many ways, I think it should have a resolution, and quick. Heck, even if thiefs had light armor, they’d still be stronger than elementalists with medium armor.
This makes mesmer and elementalist the two hardest classes (in my opinion) to start off with because even though they have skill ceilings that are arguably higher than most classes, their skill floor is already much higher than the other classes. This might have been incoherent nonsense, but if a class needs a buff the most, it’s probably elementalist. (Though Hobo sacks ruin the engi game expierence)

My favourite one is the warrior one, because with high crit chance you have a mini dagger storm that does more damage in a shorter amount of time. I can take down most warriors because of this, and I don’t even spec into stealing.
Well, I looked at meta builds, but I didn’t really like them all so I changed it around.
These are the trait lines I have things in. 0-6-2-3-3
My skills are: Hide in Shadows, Shadow Refuge, Blinding powder, Roll for Initiative and Thieve’s Guild.
I think this build is good enough, I can see a positive effect of it on pvp now, and for some odd reason I live longer without all the health traits.

I’ve been doing pvp lately, and I’ve noticed it is rather hard to keep stealthing in battles, and I find myself out of initiative when fighting many skilled players. I use D/P (I hate D/D I don’t really know why) so I do the traditional BP+HS (Black power + Heart Seeker) combo, but often I find myself dead when I’ve almost killed people. Lately I’ve been trying to depend on blinds to stop people from hitting me, but I always have the same result; no initiative.
What traits and special skills should I use for trying to keep people blinded or trying to stay in stealth? I’m not interested in perma stealth, I only use stealth to backstab most of the time, and occasionally to reset, so I would be leaving stealth usually 2 seconds after stealthing or so. I’m looking for a way to minimize the loss of initiative when fighting.
If you’re curious I use Pistol/Pistol as my other weapons, even though I used to use Pistol/Dagger(Is P/D even a good weapon set to use?)
One last urgent question: Is Shadow Rejuvenation useful if I don’t stay in stealth for long? I often never rest in fights, since I usually play the annoying thief and I pull people off points. How much health can I get from the trait if I’m only in stealth for 3 seconds at longest?

Let me clear something up. I already know what stats I want on my gear. I want +ferocity +precision +power
I’ve been speccing for precision and ferocity (mostly precision) since level 10.
I’m fine with being squishy since I don’t usually engage the enemy without stealing around, so I normally don’t get hit.
Ok, so I should farm nodes and dungeons. I tend to get a lot of useless crap, that only sells for 80 copper. Should I just salvage these instead of selling them, and THEN sell the materials, or just keep the materials?
I turned level 80 with my asura thief, and of course immediately I went to get a bunch of gear. Well, since I couldn’t get ascended gear, I dropped from 40 gold to 20 gold. After crying for a bit, I managed to get some good trinkets for laurels and karma.
Now, I’m trying to get an ascended dagger. I’ve had really bad luck with RNG in other games, plus my magic find is at 58% so I’m not gonna try to get ascended weapons off that, unless I’m REALLY desperate.
I need tips on getting ascended gear, because 1. Getting my crafting to lvl 500 is really expensive and I’m only half way there. 2. I just realized that if I want to get ascended pistols I have to start doing huntsman stuff, and seeing how I go d/p and d p/p with my thief, I’ll be begging for money off the streets before I get all of this in check. 3. People get weapons from mordremoth enemies or world bosses, that are ascended, and I want to know my exact chances for things like that, and the best places to farm for ascended, exotic or even rare gear, so I can either use them or sell them.
I’ve also heard that black lion key farming can get me a lot of gold?
Sorry if the post doesn’t make sense I’m kinda posting this at 1:30 AM.

http://www.wolfineer.com/pve/ Wolfineer’s PVE page… Dulfy is a good resource usually, but if I remember correctly, it’s not that in depth when it comes to builds. Kinda bleh, unless it’s changed in the last couple months…
But since the OP said people are surprisingly easy to hit with nades, I assumed he meant PVP or WvW.
Apologies, I did mean to say that people are easy to hit in wvw/spvp.
Also, you guys make it seem easy to level characters, I play my thief all the time, and he is still level 60(ish). What am I doing wrong?
No, this is not a level 80 character, made it about 2 days ago. This is also in pve, some people are surprisingly easy to hit with grenades, (if they use melee) they just go around a circle at the same distance and I can hit them easily.
And I thought exploding did nothing to helps healing?
I need some tips on how to deal more damage. I feel like I don’t do a lot of damage, not because of the weapons, but the way I’m using them. I’m used to using a thief where I am usually up close and personal, dodging a lot and moving around, because I get downed easily. It has come to a point where I’m doing more dodging than fighting, because I’m used to moving around quickly with dagger/pistol as a thief, which is a much faster weapon set than grenades and pistol/shield which are significantly slower than a thief’s attacks. I’m not planning on switching any of my weapons, I like pistol/shield and the grenades, and I have only been killed once so far, meanwhile with my other characters I die at least once an hour. I also plan on running a condition build later on, since all of my characters besides engineer and elementalist are running power builds or will be.
My main problems are;
·I miss half of my grenade hits on enemies, so I end up doing no damage.
·My healing turret acts weird and I have to spam the icon to get the extra heal on it.
·I always use my shield ability 5 at the wrong time.
·I move around WAY too much, because of some overprotective instinct I have, and even though I can take down up to 5 enemies at a time without losing much health, it’ll take me 5 minutes to beat them up. Is there a way to minimize my taken damage and still deal good amounts of damage, or do I have do just deal with it?
Thanks for the advice, I’ll try these out.
I’m trying to be able to make higher level weapons as a weaponsmith, but everything I craft is level 5. My character is level 52, and I know I’m missing out on something. I’d like to make weapons for my lower level characters, but everything is level 5. What am I doing wrong? If it helps, my weaponsmith level is 26.
Interesting, I always thought that axe offhand was amazing, because of the aoe damage I can deal.
I just started warrior, and I like double axe the most, it has a fast attack, and the 5th ability is really nice. In fact I knew about it because it annihilated people when I used steal as a thief on other players. But everyone I see uses great sword, or sword shield. FYI: I’m only talking about melee weapons, for my long range I’m definitely using a bow(Hate rifles) Can someone tell me what types of weapons do good DPS? When I used the axe, with the normal attack I could take down enemies faster, but a great sword had better DPS with some of its other skills, it’s just that I can’t bear using a slow weapon.. I also liked the sword on main hand, because the second ability can be useful for travelling and final stab deals some nice damage.
I think we need to calm down with hating thieves… Nerfing is fine, (Even though all these nerfs could pretty much kill the class) but wanting it to be removed is just a bit irrational. I know many people just like the thief class, and if you’re gonna ruin the game for a bunch of people, that’s just not okay. Everyone stereotypes thiefs to have no skill, and to immediately be hot-headed. I’m sick of it.
Thanks. I understand staff for zergs, and such, but in pve (Aside from bosses) is using D/D such a disadvantage I won’t get anywhere?
Er. Well, I guess I should introduce myself.. I’m new to the Gw2 forums, but not forums as a whole. The forums here seem not as aggressive as I thought they would be.
But anyway.
Is a dagger dagger build worth it for the long run? Keep in mind, I use staff equally as much, but I keep hearing that I should go dagger and focus. I’ve tried it out, and the focus has much too long of a cool down, and I feel like the abilities don’t work out well for me.
If dagger dagger ele is worth it, what would you say I use for my other ability slots?
(for sorry bad Engrish has. much I’m dissapoint very)
