Anything that disable stats of your equipped weapon is a weapon. You are physically swapping out your weapons for these kits. If they are not weapons, why are your weapons disabled ?

Conjured weapons inactivate equipped weapons. Saying they are skill make no sense in that regard.

It’s also a problem in PVP where proc effect cannot be added to conjured weapons, Making them inferior to other weapons.

There is a minor problem with Conjure Weapon spells.

They have set Stats that cannot be changed.

If these stats are too weak compare to items they become obsolete/situational, if they are too high they become overpowered/mandatory. In addition, stats of conjured weapons cannot be altered to tailor them for builds.

A simple way to improve the situation is providing 4 additional equipment slot for elementalists. These slots can only equip the type of weapon that can be conjured. Equipment in these slots are then “transmogrified” into conjured weapon when a conjuration spell is cast. The conjured weapon will have the same stats (including proc properties, if any) as the template, but their appearances and projectile effects are unchanged.

If a template slot is left empty. the conjuring spell creates a “white” version of the weapon with no stats.

This would allow A-net to update the game without worrying about re-balacing the conjuring spells with items each time.
