omg does this forum do anything but whine
With very rare exceptions, not that I’ve seen.
I don’t really understand why people are complaining about this? Guild halls are a part of the expansion, HoT— thus if you want all the features that accompany them, you have to purchase HoT. It seems pretty simple to me.
Nobody “needs” guild halls, and nobody is going to die without access to their features. Complaining how lame it is that a company doesn’t just give them stuff for free (when it’s advertised as part of a paid product) seems very childish to me.
It works no differently than how it does in real life— unless said otherwise, if you want a product, you pay for it. No, your fun will not be ruined without this QoL/cosmetic feature… and if it is, then I would seriously consider rethinking your mentality.
For leveling, I would simply go S/P with berzerker’s gear (or as close as you can manage). With the vast majority of mobs you can just spam autoattack/pistol whip and things will very quickly die. Black powder can be used if you find yourself taking too much damage and need a blind. Take both the power and precision signet when you can, which should be most of the time, and bam you’re set.
This was the build I used all the way up through HoT maps until I unlocked daredevil. Very easy (mindless even), very effective way to level. And that way, also no need to worry about condition gear while leveling.
I have to agree with this. I am very tempted by the quaggan minis currently in the gem store (I LOVE quaggans!), but I feel like they would be a waste of money to buy with the way minis auto-hide themselves all the time. So I’m not buying them. If I buy a cute lil’ pirate quaggan, I want it to be visible without constant micromanaging, darn it!
My spouse and I also started playing GW2 when HoT had already come out. Both of us have been having a great time so far in GW2 with fractals, HoT maps, and the like, and are currently gearing up to prep our characters for raids. I personally like GW2 a lot better than GW1, but that’s just my personal take.
Angry customers yell louder than satisfied customers. What can you do?
Yup, this exactly. All the “doom and gloom” threads just make me raise my eyebrow.
I think the hearts are fine. Hell, you don’t even have talk to the quest giver to get them or turn them in. Ultimate convenience. Not many MMOs can say that.
Also, what exactly did you test on? Using what tools to test DPS? For what length of time?
Etc. etc. etc…….
I think it’s a nice idea, as Guild Wars 2 is quite a pretty game and has many little details to appreciate. That said, I would support its implementation ONLY with the caveat that your character is teleported back to where it first entered ghost mode once you’re done. Too much potential for cheesing otherwise.
MEATOBERFEST!!!!!!
@ Torzini… My charr is for sure a druid, and I have seen others too… And, charr are not cats, even If they do share some feline features, like the face and some fur patterns, and that’s about it.
Read what I said. A few individuals are druids? Great. That is not what the culture is about.
@ Torzini. Many ppl, in various threads, have asked for deer inspired antlers for charr, to be able to create a true druid look, including myself.
But, the charr aren’t “druids.” Their culture is literally all about the exact opposite: technology, military power, iron, war machines. I understand the desire to create the look, but ANet is far better off not using their limited time/resources on something that would be extremely complex to implement and doesn’t even widely represent the race.
More importantly, antlers on cats = please no.

+1 for Admiral Shashoo and Napole-quaggan!!!
Not trying to be mean, but…….antlers on a charr sounds really stupid. :S They aren’t deer.

In HoT: Verdant Brink. I love its looks and its meta events, and the vertical mechanics work very well with it imo.
Core Tyria: Bloodtide Coast and Plains of Ashford. Bloodtide Coast has stunning scenery and I love the pirate theme. The Plains of Ashford— I love all the fall-coloured trees, it’s my favourite place for a beginning character. I find it quite calming.
City: I think Rata Sum is the most gorgeous home city.
Nobody asked for least favourite, but mine are all the Shiverpeak/Norn lands. They are all way too similar: snowy and bland. Zz.
Another +1 to OP and ANet.
Shame on all the ignorant haters who have taken the opportunity to moan about a small gesture that ultimately has no effect on them.
Gay agenda, indeed…… sometimes I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when I see things like this.
I help charr the most, and the other non-humans occasionally. Humans I don’t usually even bother to rez.

Boob plate on beast races? vomit I really, really hope it was decided to change it to the male version, I haven’t read through the entire thread to see if it was.
