[Merged] Can't sell my weapon skins

@ Criminal

I purchased my Zodiac sword skin with a ticket after the patch, around 8pm PST… not sellable and account bound. 2 Hour prior to that I had traded in a ticket for a staff skin of the zodiac, sold just find. Hrmmmm…. Im thinking it was related to the hot patch in between those times?

The Zodiac Sword is listed as Account Bound in the merchant window. No other Zodiac weapon skin is labelled Account Bound so it seems like a problem specific to the Sword version.. Note it’s the only Zodiac skin not available on the trading post because of this issue.

I’ve encountered something similar to this. I’ve opened 2 chests in Wayfarer, Gendarran, Ashford & Queensdale. The chests had loot, but somehow I only have 6 balloon towers visited in my achievements instead of 8.

Yes, this has happened to me twice while fighting Deadeye Dunwell. Not fun trying to pick him out from a ton of oozes!

Alphabetize

I think this is a simple suggestion that would give a little more polish to the game.

Whether it be food in the Desserts crafting menu, animals in the Pet selection window, or achievements in the Slayer category, all lists like these in the game should be alphabetized so that players have an easier time finding the one they’re looking for.

Thank you! :-)

500 AP for GW1 Hall of Monuments Intended?

Given the number of years many of us put into GW1, as opposed to the 1 year GW2 has been out, fair would be to make the HoM worth 50,000 points instead of a measly 500 ;-)

I think they should give us a chest, and when you open it you get the reward selection popup. (You know the one you get after completing a personal story mission?) Inside is a choice between a fused weapon ticket, sclerite ticket or dragon jade ticket =)

I would:

1. Form an Open World team with the purpose of creating new skins that can only drop from specific meta event daily chests (e.g., Shadow Behemoth). Once each world boss has a unique set of weapons and armor, have the team focus on adding new world bosses to every map area that doesn’t have one.

2. Form a Dungeon development team with a goal of releasing a new Fractal every 1-2 months. Twice a year they can take a break from adding Fractals to add a new permanent dungeon instead. Make dungeons easy like CoF path 1, then make a ‘Hardmode’ with appropriate rewards. Give a bonus chest with good dungeon specific loot if all monsters in a dungeon are killed like a GW1 style map vanquish. This would give incentive for parties to not skip/speed run through dungeon content.

3. Form a WvW team who’s first task should be to add new Borderlands and Eternal Battle grounds maps say every 3 months. Have these new maps mix and rotate in with the current map. E.g., one week red borderlands could be topical (Maguuma) themed, green could be the current borderlands map, blue could be Orr themed, and EB could be Canthan inspired. Next week all maps get randomly re-assigned, etc.

4. Form a Dragon Expansion team to work on creating a solid expansion around the slaying of Jormag. After this expansion is done, have them start working on the other elder dragons.

As more dragons are slain, magic is re-released into the world and the 6 human gods come back! This team should also give us a new Fissue of Woe, Underworld & Domain of Anguish as more dragons are killed.

5. Form a New Continent Expansion team to work on creating expansions that expand into the continents of Elona and Cantha. Each expansion should come with a new story and at least: 1 new race, 1 new profession, 1 new weapon for each profession, 10 new skills for every profession, 1 new elite skill for every profession, etc.

Items 1-3 are what I feel would improve the “core” game. Items 5 & 6 expand the game in the two directions I think most people want to see it go.

2 week is too fast

I think there’s a solution to providing content quickly enough for those who are dedicated players, while making it available long enough for casual players to get around to it: make the content updates overlapping.

What if living story content was released every 2 weeks like they planned, but lingered even after the next update? E.g., if all living story content stuck around for 3 months, then at any given time there would be the equivalent of 6 updates worth of living story available. Those who are quick would be playing the latest update, while those who missed a certain month would still have a chance to go back and get their achievement points/rewards. As an added bonus, if one update’s contents happen to suck (e.g., Canach’s Lair) people would still have better content (e.g., Molten Facility) available to them until the next “good” update arrives :-)

Southsun is a Failed Experiment IMO

So I’ve been watching the Karka Queen spawn timers on this website:
http://us.gw2stuff.com/en/events/fort-aspenwood

And I’ve noticed that she’s been up for many hundreds of hours on most servers except Fort Aspenwood. On Fort Aspenwood, some one or group has been organizing the activity to kill her every day, usually around 7-8pm Pacific Time.

Whoever this individual or guild is, I wanted to thank them because I’ve been trying to get Settler’s armor for my ranger for weeks, and was able to do so by Guesting onto their server at the right time :-)

As far as the problem with Southsun, it seems like you need a larger critical mass to make a dent in the Karkas, which means a concerted (probably server-wide) effort to kill the Queen at a certain time of day. I witnessed on Fort Aspenwood that it doesn’t take an enormously long time if the resources (i.e., people) are available. No longer than Jormag for example.

As far as motivating people, I think a rare drop of a Scleritte Weapon Ticket would do the job. I don’t mean a rare drop of a crate, with an even rarer chance of a ticket, I mean a reasonably rare/uncommon direct drop of a ticket. Or there should be an achievement, as some people have suggested, where after 100 Karka Queen kills it unlocks a ticket for you.

Yes, I still have a couple weeks to spend another 20-40 gold on coffers, and still not get anything :-)

No they wouldn’t, because if the RNG item is not account bound, people would have another option to obtain it other than opening thousands of coffers (i.e., buying it off of the trading post).

Why remove another dungeon?

Except that museums too have temporary exhibits that are often better or just more interesting then the normal exhibits. I mean, right now the British Museum is running the temporary exhibit “Life and death in Pompeii and Herculaneum” until the September 29th but I am pretty booked-up and apparently I have to book in advance and can’t just decide on a weekend to go see it. So am I supposed to ask the British Museum to make this exhibit permanent?

Special dungeons are temporary exhibits in a museum. Enjoy them while you can and if you can’t… well we all have to make choices and our choices usually mean we miss out on X in order to enjoy Y.

Except it generally costs money for museums to keep a special exhibit open, and the exhibit is temporary because the artifacts need to be moved to another location so a different museum can host them. These reasons are completely irrelevant to why the new dungeon must be removed.

For those who want a changing experience, if the dungeon were persistent simply stop playing it and your world will be the same as if it had been removed. On the other hand, for those who have college exams, or are on vacation, on business trips, have family in town, are getting married, or giving birth, etc. keeping the temporary content around makes all the difference.

LordGustoff, I think your scenario could be plausible if Anet was releasing huge PvE content every month, but they’re not. Remember the first month of F&F where we were just fixing signs? Or the second month where there were just a couple new events? If they do the same thing with the next living story, a person logging on after the F&F dungeon goes away would still get the impression that nothing of significance has been added to the game. I know I would.

Even if the living story that follows F&F started with a huge content update, wouldn’t it be better to give a returning player this content PLUS the dungeon that they would have missed?

10 Suggestions for Events

in Suggestions

Tranc.6780

These suggestions are intended to give more variety to the types of events people participate in, and also make us excited about loot again!

1. There should be a meta-event chain that ends with a Champion or World Boss (and a daily bonus chest), a la Frozen Maw, in every explorable zone. Some pre-existing event bosses only need slight modifications to be upgraded (the Blood Witkittenessex Hills, for example).

2. Each of these meta-event bosses should drop weapon and armor skins unique to the zone. This is already being done to some extent: Frozen Maw chests drop rare quality “Norn” weapons. But there should be a wider variety of skins (a sentiment I’ve heard others express) so that each zone can have its own particular weapon & armor sets.

3. In addition to zone specific skins, each boss should have a chance of dropping “unique” exotic items, like Rotscale in Guild Wars 1. I would love to see an “Ice Dragon Armor” set from Jormag for example. I feel that item skins in Guild Wars 2 are either pretty common or insanely rare (e.g., legendary pre-cursors). These boss uniques should be around 1% of the rares, uncommon enough so that you won’t receive them unless you do the event chain repeatedly, but common enough that in a large group someone is likely to get a unique drop which would spread the word and build excitement.

4. Events should scale up better with the number of people participating. Currently, some World bosses (e.g., Jungle Wurm) die extremely fast. Their life total should scale up, and they should gain different abilities, particularly the ability to summon veterans and champions to aid them if there are enough people participating.

5. In addition to bringing news regarding the Living Story, the city Heralds could also give us clues about when a world boss is about to spawn. E.g., the Herald in Divinity’s Reach could announce “Underworld forces have been spotted outside the swamp” when the pre-event beings.

6. Surprise us! The Shatterer should have the ability to turn his head and breath lightning at folks camped at his right flank. Currently, he only uses his breath weapon in the forward arc, where no one usually fights him.

7. Pehaps dynamic events don’t have to unfold in the same way every time, even if the players do exactly the same thing. E.g., Jormag could get shot down 50% of the time like he currently does, or he could land at the cannons and destroy them, allowing the final fight to take place there!

8. Every activation of the Golem Mark II event could have a 10% chance of spawning a Golem Mk III instead. Maybe the Mk III shoots homing missiles from its arms instead of the Mk II’s gatling guns. Subsequent activations of the event after the Mk III would be a Mk IV (a melee variant that crawls across the platform and bashes people), then a Mk V (similar to Mk IV but sports a howdah on its back where Inquest are manning lasers), and finally a Mk VI! (I’ll leave that one to your imagination Afterwards, the event spawns should revert back to Golem Mk II’s. This would give people incentive to come back in an hour to see if a new variant has spawned. Loot should vary with the Mark of the golem.

9. The Megadestroyer should get a daily chest. Also, every activation should have a 1/6 chance of spawning an Ultradestroyer (oversized Destroyer Crab) and 1/9 chance of spawning a Hyperdestroyer (oversized Destroyer Harpy). Loot should vary with the type of super-destroyer.

10. A new event could be an underworld portal that spawns in a random location sort of the like the Skritt Burgler. Maybe there are cultists around the portal that you have to slay to gain access. Then people can enter the portal and fight a new world boss inside.
