The problem, is that some of us have lives, and when the content was announced for “Afternoon PST” we had to make arrangements to have time to play (especially those of us not on the west coast).
At this point ANet could be a little more respectful of people’s time/lives outside of the game and just come out with a time.
Please stop catering to the pacific timezone. This is the worst possible time for the majority of your player base.
And I expect they get thousands of reports each day, I really don’t think they should respond individually to bot reports.
It wouldnt need to be more than an automated response when an account gets banned for boting.
The title says it all.
I played a ranger for most of GW1. I tried several classes during the beta, and although a lot of them were attractive I went with the ranger for headstart and played my ranger to level 80, map 100% etc. etc.
These days, I just cant bring myself to play a ranger. I’m not bored with the class, neither am I consumed with a desire to run alts. I like the way that the class plays, I wish that there were more viable weapons than the shortbow but I can live with. But every time I run across a bot train of rangers in Orr, or whatever other zone, I just feel shame.
I don’t want to be associated with the soulless army that is continuously and relentlessly reducing the quality of everyone’s gameplay experience. When I see those bots I feel shame for my chosen profession.
This has had a pretty significant effect on my gameplay. For instance, I don’t help downed rangers anymore unless we’re in a dungeon and I know that there is someone there running the character. Where before I was happy to run across people and would gladly help, now I eye everyone running around with the speed and drive of a bot with deep suspicion…. “Is this a bot? Should I report this one?” GW2 was built with a lot of thought and care to ensure that players would be happy to see and help other players. Bots are continuously eating away these foundations that hold the community together.
I know this thread will probably be locked in short order and we’ll be told that the best thing we can do is report bots. Honestly, reporting bots is work, and it’s not my job. When I play GW2 I want to escape that kind of tedium and ANet should be cautious about putting that kind of responsibility on the player base, especially when there is essentially no noticeable effect on the bot population. When you put the responsibility on the player to report a bot you are essentially telling them that you know that bots are an issue and asking the player to stop enjoying the game to take a few moments to do your job for you (it’s never just one bot, it’s 5 or 10 and to report them you have to chase them around and it sucks).
BTW. would it be so hard to send feedback to the players who reported a bot when that bot got banned?
tldr: Bots make me feel ashamed to play a Ranger; Bots are bad; It’s not the player base’s job to deal with the bot problem.
The situation is just terrible. I wanted to play an alt in queens dale last night and I had to chase after mobs to get to them before bot swarms. (centaur camp near vineyard north of beetletun).
OK… I’ll go look for dynamic events nearest dynamic event is bugged and cannot be completed. (DE near the fields east of beetletun farms).
OK I’ll go get the next skill point….. skill challenge in beetletun is bugged.
Screw this. log out and try another alt. Different zone (gendarran fields) same issues. Bugged events and bots everywhere.
This is worst in the low level areas. As it is, I could not in good conscience recommend anyone buy and start playing this game. The quality of game play at the early levels has gone down by a drastic am mount since release. I understand ANet probably wants to collect data and mass band but the prolonged inaction in the mean time is having a terrible effect. Please by all means work on a long term plan, but the need for short term drastic action is quite significant.
Won’t be playing alts any time soon…

Part of the problem is that many of the problems seem to accumulate over the week after your server patch and reset, by the time the weekend comes up and you have the most people playing you have the most events broken. This ends up looking worse for a greater proportion of your players.

Dungeon: Honor of the Waves (Butcher)
Tokens received: 45
Party: 60 (another player got 30).
This is my first time ever doing that dungeon in explorable mode. This is my 2nd explorable mode dungeon ever after an AC explorable that also gave me 45 tokens rather than 60.
This is unaccepable.
Not doing dungeon explorable content until this is adressed.

Yes please.
only receive mail from friends/guildmembers.
It’s the only way to go.
Ran my first explorable mode run ever on any character last night. Got 45 Ascalonian tears.
The only think that I could think of at the time that would have had an effect was that I was defeated and running back while one of the mid-bosses was killed. But from what I understand I should have gotten all 60 tokens anyway.
I have observed this and it’s gotten me killed several times.
If you’re fighting an enemy in mele range it’s not abnormal to loose sight when you dodge, root, circle. It often happens in that case that hitting “nearest enemy” will target another mob at range and result in extra aggro.
Nearest enemy should always target the nearest “red” mob.
Not infrequently, my character will spontaneously fire an arrow at a neutral target even though I had not been in combat and had not triggered any weapon skills.
Although I would usually agree to follow the procedure to report bugs, and have done so a few times in this case, this is just not acceptable.
this weekend I followed my story quest: sylvari, day cycle, white stag. Up to level 20, finding a voiced over cut scene that had no missing dialog was the exception rather than the rule. I submitted bug reports for the first 2-3…. but anything beyond that is ridiculous.
This needs to be looked at globally. I makes the game look poor and severely detracts from the personal story at the early levels which is a particularly critical time.
It’s a combo field notification.
Every field is a combo field. No indication necessary.
I really doubt that the puzzle pieces and hearts are what this texture was intended to look like.
I"m guessing that the jigsaw effect is meant to be blurred in some way and serve as the underlying patter, but that whatever filter is meant to be used to finish the effect is either not working or not being applied correctly.
The healing spring area of effect (and other ring effects such as wells and glyphs) renders as a series of hearts and jigsaw puzzle pieces.
An example can be seen in this image.

It looks pretty terrible, and I hope this is a glitch. On some lower setting options this is not visible because the shapes of the texture are completely blurred.
