As mentioned by a couple above, “Take your time and smell the roses.” Some of the best experiences I’ve had in the game were while leveling/exploring this vast world.

Also from one new GW player to another. If you like lore and have the time head over to GW2wiki and read some of the lore that sets the stage for GW2. In my opinion one of the game’s greatest strengths is all the rich lore established by the first game. GW2 is filled with historical references that may go unnoticed if you don’t have any knowledge of the past. Personally reading the lore really added to the immersion and made my journey through the game feel that much more meaningful. Hope this helps.

I compared farming in a group v solo over the past couple days. The difference is night and day. It feels like I wasted so much time farming not in a group.

I’m 28 and I’ve been enjoying mmo’s since the early days of UO. While GW2 is far from perfect, it is a breath of fresh air. I am pleased to this point and confident in Anet’s ability to polish the rough patches, given GW1’s longevity.

I think it would be nice if titles were a little more prominent. I don’t even notice them on people.

Just out of curiosity what does being in a group do? Do you get more drops or prolong DR from setting in or something?

As mentioned by some of the other people, Divinity’s Reach was awe inspiring the first time I saw it back in beta. It actually was the deciding factor on which race my main would be.

A second memorable moment came when I was out leveling my main and I came across another played who was overwhelmed by a vet mob and a few adds. I rushed over to him in an attempt to do good and save his butt in spite the odds being against the two of us (what can I say I play a guardian for a reason). Unfortunately he was downed before I could reach him so I was left to protect his body by myself. At that moment I decided not to run to save myself but to stay and fight. I was on fire using every bit of skill I had, managing to fend off all the mobs and live. To top it off after I rezzed the guy he said, “whoa that was awesome!” I felt pretty epic at that moment haha.

Same as most of you. I will select a target and randomly it will drop the target. I notice it more when I’m running DE’s in the cursed shore but it may have nothing to do with that. Can’t explain just how frustrating it is to be fighting something and have the target drop as I am using Leap of Faith. Naturally there is usually a cliff for me to fly off of to my death or something.

Simply casting my vote here for an Anet representative to read. I love so much of this game. There are so many awesome things that pulled me in, like vistas, exploration rewards and the epic lore behind the game. There are a lot of things that were done right with GW2 (in my opinion). I can count the amount of days I’ve missed playing since pre-release on one hand and I continue to enjoy the game, but not all is well. I am flat out afraid of using the mystic forge at this point (something that I was really excited to use before release) and for good reason. I just won’t to exchange days of my life in glowing virtual slot machine for a sense of loathing and frustration, because I’m not down with wasting my time. I feel so bad for the people who blazed ahead of on the trail just to be completely crushed by the random nonsense.

I completely agree with Legendary items being a long term goal and that precursor weapons should be rare. I don’t have a solution to this problem, but a problem it is. Seriously who has fun grinding to make enough money or mats to get Y number of weapon X to toss into the mystic forge? No one, that’s who. Remember games are suppose to be fun.
