I opened up a support ticket (130415-001265) for this, but their response seemed to indicate I needed to post here instead. Help appreciated in advance.
On Saturday (April 13, 2013) in the evening my guild (Binary Alliance on Crystal Desert) successfully completed a Guild Rush (our first!). It was the Chicken Run rush. We successfully got 15 players across (more than 15, actually… it was fun so we kept doing it). Everyone got their commendation, chest, etc and then we moved on to other things. However, we did not receive merits and the mission is marked failed in the Guild Log.
The quest tracker for the event was successful and we definitely had more than 15 people finish. Not sure what happened here but I would appreciate it if the issue could be resolved and the merits awarded. We’re a fairly small guild and every merit is important.
Thank you.

Just thought I’d give this post a little bump. We’re still looking for fun people to join our community.
No level requirements or time commitments and no forced exclusivity. Come join a great community of fun people, make friends, and slay enemies.
Weekly Bounties and Treks with Rushes ready to go (though we haven’t tried a Rush mission yet! Wish us luck!).

Looking for a guild? You might belong here!
We are Binary Alliance [BA]… a casual, mostly PvE guild but occasionally we like to kill stuff now! dip into WvW and sPvP. Most of our members are sarcastic muggles/punks/crazies in their 20’s and 30’s who like to joke around and have a good time while gaming.
What makes us special? In all seriousness, our biggest concerns are compatibility and community. When recruiting, we like to find people who are a good fit for our guild – that means fun, friendly, casual and willingness to be team players. Legendary weapons, map completion, and achievement points are not how we judge applicants – serious, leet-core gamers do not get preferential treatment.
We recruit in small batches, interview new applicants and get to know people before giving them full membership.
We care about who we recruit and therefore don’t accept all applicants. This doesn’t mean that people we reject are bad players, but it simply means that they aren’t the right fit. Please don’t mistake this for elitism – our occasional little “struggle squad” has been known to fall flat on our collective face, but we pride ourselves in having a kitten fun time while doing it.
The basics:
Small-ish PvE guild on Crystal Desert (North America based)
Runs tons of dungeons and fractals
Most active in the evenings across Eastern, Central, and Pacific US timezones
We have a website/forum (www.binary-alliance.com) and TeamSpeak3 server
Female / LGBT / Everything friendly
New and Veteran players welcome
Age 18+ preferred (though maturity is a fair substitute)
If you are still interested in joining us, please feel free to contact our recruitment officers in game:

Mirianda Winter (Dorothy.5927)

Soooooo good, man. Awesome. That armor needs to exist, hah.

Our PvE is still going strong and we’ve gotten a bit better group of WvW interested folks for our WvW night(s).
Wouldn’t mind a couple more members if anyone is interested and is a great/fun person to spend time with.
www.binary-alliance.com
We’ve gotten some great new friends but wanted to bump this once more ahead of the change in transfer policy. Anyone who thinks they’d be a good fit for our community is encouraged to reach out.
Good luck to everyone looking for their Guild Wars 2 home.
Thank you.

Hi Alucard,
Sorry to hear of the troubles with your previous guild situation, good luck finding a new home!
Binary Alliance is right in that sweet spot you mentioned of about 15-30 daily players. We’re mostly in our 20s and 30s and all have real lives and look to GW2 to have fun. We’re primarily PvE focused, but do some group events in WvW too. We enjoy having fun and getting to know each other while still playing the game well. Our community plays on the Crystal Desert server.
We have a TS3 server and a website ( www.binary-alliance.com ) and I’d love to talk with you and see if we’d be a good fit for each other.
If you’re interested, please free to contact me in game (Vorago.3651) or via email ( vorago@binary-alliance.com ).
Either way, I wish you luck!

Hi Boun!
If you’re willing to transfer (they’re free), then Binary Alliance may be a good place for you.
We’re a smaller but active guild on Crystal Desert with an emphasis on being friends, getting to know each other, and having fun while demonstrating skill.
No requirements for how often you play and most of us are 20s and 30s with other real life responsibilities as well.
We have a website (www.binary-alliance.com) and Teamspeak server and we tend to be a little bit more PvE inclined, but we love all of the PvP parts of the game too.
If you’d like to talk more and see if we’re a good fit for each other, please feel free to reach out to me in game (Vorago.3651) or via email ( vorago@binary-alliance.com ).
Thank you!

Binary Alliance is a guild of friends and fun lovers on Crystal Desert. We’re mostly in our 20s and 30s, laid back, and enjoy playing all parts of the game. We pride ourselves on being able to have a great guild culture where we can all have fun while still demonstrating great skill. We tend to be a little bit more PvE active currently, but are very into the fun of the various forms of PvP as well.
We have a website ( www.binary-alliance.com ), TS3 server, and an environment where people get to know each other and become friends (instead of just some random people you bump into on occasion).
We’re currently a small-to-medium sized guild (and active! with 15-25 people online daily) and looking to recruit. We don’t want to get too large as we want to maintain our close and friend-oriented atmosphere, but getting into a more “medium” size range would be perfect with the right folks.
If you’re interested, please feel free to check out our website and/or simply get ahold of me. I am reachable in-game (Vorago.3651) or via email (officers@binary-alliance.com).
Thank you,

Hey Dragung,
Binary Alliance is a gaming community (we play other games in addition to Guild Wars 2) of friends. We all get to know each other, have fun (it’s our top priority!), and aim to excel at whatever task is at hand.
We tend to be PvE focused, but mix it up in our share of sPvP and WvW as well. Our members are all in their 20s and 30s and have the same personality interests as you (mature adults who know how to joke around and have fun).
Our numbers are currently on the smaller side, but we’d love to talk with you both and see if we’re a good fit.
Please feel free to send me a message in game or via email (officers@binary-alliance.com) and we can arrange a time to get together on our Teamspeak server and chat.
Thanks in advance,
Vorago Wisteria

My mesmer Aherdoftinykittens!
Nice… What is the mask/helm from the first pic and what sword?
www.binary-alliance.com
Really enjoying the Mesmer. Full crafted exotic set (Exalted) transmuted to look like the Order of Whispers set.
www.binary-alliance.com
Do mesmers have enough AOE to reliably tag mobs in large-scale DE’s?
in Mesmer
Posted by: Vorago.3651
I typically have no issues with tagging between Elasticity and shatters w/ IPersona.
www.binary-alliance.com
Yeah, I’ve actually come to really love how the Warden works (at first I struggled to fit it into my play style).
The only beef I have with him is that he will sometimes appear behind the target instead of in front. Sometimes on the side too, but that’s isn’t as bad.
www.binary-alliance.com
Now please kill either Staff oder GS, so we have finaly an answer which of this weapons you want us to use.
Admittedly, I literally lol’d at this. :-D
I think the Warden will be ok, but truth be told I wasn’t using it in the spammy fashion anyway.
www.binary-alliance.com
(edited by Vorago.3651)
Ok, so after a night of practicing in an area with lots of mobs (Arathi Hinterlands) I think I’m starting to get the hang of it. I won’t claim to be great at perfect positioning of Curtain while fighting things, but I’m getting there…
There idea of pairing up Warden with Leap’s root works well.
The only issue that seems annoying and not something I can overcome is that about ~20% of the time, Warden is summoned behind the NPC so I cannot be behind him. There seems to be some range where the game decides, “Instead of making him appear and run to the NPC, he is now a Rogue and will simple appear behind.”
www.binary-alliance.com
You guys have convinced me… I’m going to suck it up and stick it out a while and see what happens.
www.binary-alliance.com
iWarden has a learning curve…
So maybe I ought to focus more on getting decent with the Warden and less on changing trait specs seven times a day, lol.
Thanks… I appreciate the post.
www.binary-alliance.com
You don’t worry too much about the Warden being stationary once in play?
www.binary-alliance.com
At the moment I am a bit more PvE minded, but I will definitely keep those comments in mind when I do more PvP type stuff.
Thanks.
www.binary-alliance.com
Maybe something like this would be decent:
www.binary-alliance.com
Yeah. it’s true that I lack patience for this sort of thing… and I may need to muster up a bit more.
Staff, for me, is a given… I like it, it’s fun… seems good. The second set is something I am struggling to figure out. At this stage, I don’t necessarily need to milk out every last point of damage possible but I cannot seem to feel settled on anything.
I really like scepter, but it does suck when you destroy your own clones for free (no shatter or killed benefit). So that means sword. Ok, not a big deal… sword is fun even if I feel lazy for a few seconds if I am stuck on cooldown and forced into range. On the other hand, Scepter 3 is so cool for confusion and laser beams, lol. XD
I like the idea of condition builds, seems to feel like more of a fit w/ my Mesmer mentality. I’m not stuck on it and a pure damage build would be cool too, I suppose.
Anyway… just ranting a bit, guess I am back to the drawing board.
www.binary-alliance.com
Haha, yeah, I gave up quickly. When it works out, it’s great… but in dungeons, word events, etc etc the mobs either run around or get pulled around and then my Warden just becomes an awkward guy… dancing in the corner alone… so alone.
www.binary-alliance.com
…never mind. Too annoying to deal with completely stationary Warden. :-P
www.binary-alliance.com
If you are using I.Warden a lot for dmg, trade in the Illusions “+1 Bounce to Bouncing Attacks” for Phantasmal Haste.
I was wondering about that… but thought I might get a more even spread of capability by keeping the Elasticity for when I switch to Staff in combat, but perhaps not.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely be trying it out.
www.binary-alliance.com
So I’ve been going through build tweaks like crazy trying to find one that feels right… but to be honest, none of them really feel wrong, haha. They’re all fun and I am loving my Mesmer (level 63 so far).
I hadn’t used a Focus off hand since the single digits levels (for some reason, I got it into my head that it sucked, lol) but decided to check it out again… seems like the Warden is decent enough to make up for Curtain’s highly situational use (don’t get me wrong, it has it’s awesome moments).
Warden seems to do a bit more damage than Duelist does as far as direct damage goes, but I don’t get as many bleed stacks somehow.
In any case… if anyone was interested in checking out the build I threw together and offering their spin, I’d appreciate it. I am mostly doing PvE at the moment, but intend to casually do WvW and other PvP too once I hit 80 (yes, I know the scaling and equalizations/etc).
Thanks in advance!

So I can have 2 phantasms continuously and 1 clone trillion times replaced with scepter 1skill, right?
Gonna test it again today…
Yes, this is how it has worked for me since the head start weekend.
www.binary-alliance.com
I believe this is working as intended. If you feel your style requires three phantasms, then you probably need to stow your weapon after using other abilities or switch to something else in order to avoid clone summoning.
The system is probably as good as it can be, they cannot (or should not) just globally block clones when three phantasms are up… it impacts other abilities too much (Decoy, the scepter block/#2, etc) as well as trait’d stuff like deceptive evasion and desperate decoy (or whatever they’re called, heh… not in game right now).
www.binary-alliance.com
I almost always have Staff, then the other set is either Sword+Pistol or Scepter+Pistol. I like sword a lot, but get annoyed at the short range/buggyness of Leap.
