Yup. No idea why anyone cares to win. It’s not like everyone wins a prize. Ooooo, useless world bonuses! There literally is zero incentive to really give two cents about the outcome. Tier status also means little to nothing. Like Quenta said, we’re looking for fights more than anything. The fact that we occasionally have to break down a door or wall just delays our desire to engage the enemy.

Now if ANet could undo whatever the hell they are thinking as ‘good ideas’ and start making WvWvW more about fun and rivalries.

Thief takes little to no effort to play and still deal significant damage.

Damage: trait, then gear, then select kit to do damage. Basic weapons don’t really do much other than for usage while higher damage abilities are on cooldown.
Escape mechanism: Rifle, if you have it equipped, Elixir Gun, if you have it equipped.

That seems to be the trend. NNK is big enough to do what they want at night which means the other two servers are at a disadvantage.

With a little more challenge to them, this tier might be a lot closer.

That’s funny, because every night I see FA attacking TC and running scared from DB.

The only way this matchup will have any resemblance of balance is if FA get over their petty obsession with beating TC, and try to fight DB.

The fact that a push on a Bay last night required both sides to deploy multiple arrow carts just shows how kitten this buff/change to Arrow Carts is. Rams are pretty much useless with the new Arrow Carts. The enemy didn’t even bother deploying any, despite having 4 arrow carts pummeling the inner wall with fire. The threw up some catapults and player vs door’d for a bit before our own Arrow Carts forced them to retreat. Without Arrow Carts, they would’ve surely made it inside the keep but this patch literally turned pushing into keeps/towers into 20-45 min long sieges.

Sieging is not fun.

Arrow carts in general are the worst part about WvW. The fact that they can be buffed via WXP, just made things that much worse. Turned WvW into Treb wars, which is ridiculously boring. Seriously, who likes sitting around pressing one button for 20+ minutes?

Also, this should be the week’s thread, not some necro’d thread that is no longer relevant.

Arrow Carts shouldn’t be in the game whatsoever.

ANet has no idea what to do with WvW. Oh people complain it’s ‘zergy’, so they added arrow carts to deter infantry… they work, but are easily countered by actually having Toughness and a modicum of survival instinct. So they go ahead and make them even more powerful in the name of killing the ‘zerginess’ that is WvW.
It’s a war zone between 100+ man queue’s, of course there’s going to be large groups, get the f over it. Adapt and learn, or just continue doing the same garbage and die.
Of course, one server says ‘80 red names’ showed up… the most ironic statement that litters these forums, especially when it’s pretty clear via BT’s TS, that’s there’s only 30-40 people connected, somehow the number magically doubles according to the enemy. Unlike other servers, FA’s entire queue isn’t just one giant zerg ball pvdoor’ing or pressing auto-attack while following the blue dorito an entire map while people are sleeping or working, you know, to live.

Sieging is boring. Incredibly boring. You can put hours into defending an objective only to wake up hours later to it being taken because of the 24/7 PPT game that is server hopping. Likewise, you can put hours into taking an objective only to be met by more and more improved siege which annihilates large group of players. Essentially turning what could be a few battles over the course of 30 minutes to instead hours of sitting around pressing and holding 2, then firing. ZZZzzz. The incentive is just not there. People don’t fight since the reward is clearly not there. Bags? How has this not been fixed yet? I mean seriously… How about raid windows?
Seems to me there’s likely little to no resources being into one aspect of the game that attracts a certain type of mmo player that will continue to play day in and day out seeking glory on the electronic battlefield. They buffed the one siege piece that didn’t need buffing. Culling pushed things forward. Now we’re just going pedal to the metal in reverse… Give us something worthwhile for WvW’ing, not some abstract ‘server wide bonuses’. The incentive to do fractals, dungeons, daily, etc are all there, but there just hasn’t been any of that added to actually getting everyone to want to have their server do well.

Regardless, this week proved to be interesting with the ‘new’ DB joining the tier. Quite a few good battles and people who actually fight.

Too many TC posts to care. Little to no score updates.

The matchup will last a while unless one server blows out the rest. Whoever moves up or down will get trounced or do the trouncing. Tier 3 was being blown out by FA and if we were to move down, it would be boring. Likewise, if TC or Kain move up, they’ll get stomped by the 24/7 coverage that is Tier 1. Add queue woes and I think they’ll gladly drop back to Tier 2 where there isn’t the supergiantz e r gballs 24/7. Occasionally this tier puts out those giant masses, it’s too bad there’s so much pvdoor’ing.

We’re just a bunch of godless heathens anyways.

We want fights.

Last night was a blast. This culling fix has what we’ve all been waiting for.
Tweaking the settings helps. But the random crashes… dear lord.

Err, Wigz is on FA I thought. I was asking what TC/Kain’s strongest was since SEA seems FA’s strongest.

Kain’s strongest is SEA time. FA’s is NA/AUS. TC, no idea.

SEA time is just so easy. PvDoor time is super fun time.

The problem with these abilities like Rampage is that Stability doesn’t provide immunity from snares. So you can pop ‘Rampage’ etc, get snared, and be pretty much useless. If they were to make Stability cover all cc, snares, fear, etc, then I could see this being used significantly more often.

Looking for solid SEA/EU guilds to keep FA strong and Tier 2 forever. Our NA ppt last night was over 500. We have a large solid WvWvW player base but our coverage in SEA/EU timeslot is nearly nothing. Even a small guild could turn the tide! Consider Fort Aspenwood!

I hope we, TC, get to be back in T2 next week instead of waiting another week. T3 started off terrible on the forums, but it seems that our opponents are doing much better on the Forums and such have started to perform better on the battlefield with a cleansed mind (partially) of hate, trollish, and other negative thoughts.

Miss you KA and FA, this matchup will be awesome. Also, keep it up, KA! We said we’d cheer you on and you’re doing well.

FA has always had coverage issues after the oceanic timeslot logs, there’s a good 6 to 8 hour window where FA just doesn’t compete. Even a single active WvW in that timeslot would improve our score ten fold. I’m just glad to be in Tier 2 and awaiting the return of Tasty Coast. So many delicious bags…

Thanks for the heads up regarding that DB Ultra-Zerg. We were wondering what it was… which isn’t any different than our initial encounters. That server wide zerg ball was epic. We wiped a few times and wiped it a few times also. Kudos to DB for bringing the fight, BT respects opponents that are willing to do so. YB has also been good sports. They don’t give up.

It’s the other way around. Both DB and Mag had these tiny groups literally having little to no effect on the WvW score. Then again, they’d run away 95% of the time. I think these groups obviously need more flavour of the month dd ele’s.

I smell a nerf to DD Ele’s more than anything else. I wouldn’t be surprised if some abilities lose their AoE damage or get a much smaller area AoE + less damage. Right now, there are only a few ways to play Ele:
DD //*/30/30 or a variation of that… with or without evasive arcana.
Staff (PvE/Ranged WvW)
and Swirling Winds Focus in WvWvW… the most boring job ever.

There’s little to no point playing other spec’s since their traits are weak.

I’d say Scepter/Dagger or Focus could use some work. Staff abilities could be improved. Dagger/Dagger doesn’t need a nerf directly, I’d say it needs to be
more focused on single target damage. Because right now, DD literally has
everything: damage, mobility, healing, survivability. At least from a PvP standpoint.

Yep, culling still needs a lot of work.

Monday night was pretty dull in Maguuma BL. It is fun kicking the bee hive that the north camp is though. Granted culling is still somewhat broken. Even with decent client side hardware, players just don’t load. DB came out to play, was fun, kudos to you guys putting up a fight.

Couple points I’d like to make on any misconceptions about FA:

1. Only 1 guild on FA right now truly zergs, and that is GODS. And trust me when we zerg you’ll know it(ie. EB this past sunday afternoon, sorry DB you were still in firing range of us at that point). Just an FYI we have only truly zerged once this entire matchup so far. We usually do it a bit more…

Sometimes we have enough to do 2 or 3 groups of 10-20 on the same map, not counting any other “special forces” type group we may have going. Tough luck if we appear on your map.

You’re lucky this week that most of the guild has been leveling their alts in WvW.

2. A guild like RET may get 20+ players on at once, but most of the time they run 10-15. And when they do, you’ll know it. I saw RET defend SMC the other day and push through a larger MAG force that was on the walls. Should have been a pitched battle…as both forces saw each other. Nope RET gut punched through them and that was it.

3. BT…welp you can watch their weekly recap videos and decide yourself what kind of work they do. I will say this: They will farm you regardless of what you think of them. In regards to the video…looks like the forces were equal to me. Its more telling that both MAG and DB allowed BT to flank them like 3 times. Smart commanders like Quenta can almost always count on the opponents not realizing whats going on most of the time. Perhaps you should think about getting on Quenta’s level instead of complaining about it.

4. We have several other EST guilds that are doing awesome. HOPE has recruited some, and they can roll with 10-20 on any given night…but they aren’t on every night. They are busy doing awesome stuff like dungeon races.

5. I can’t speak for our oceanics, as some of them are still pretty new to me. I do know that they are AWESOME.

6. If you want to 5vs5, head on over to sPVP. FA’s WvW guilds are too busy taking and/or defending stuff or wiping you.

We wiped RETS 15 man the other day actually.

As one of FA’s most bitter opponents, I have to say that anyone shifting there looking for a great WvW experience will not be disappointed. They’re really well organized and putting in work across all timezones.

I’ve been able to tell how hungry y’all are over the last week, undoubtedly a server that’s going places in WvW. Props where it’s due fellas, kill ya later.

Team Dolyak [DOLY], hosts a weekly event known as the Yak Parade. It is a three-server wide celebration of Dolyaks and Fun. It is a nice break from the usual WvW business. You need to join the guild to get the time/date/location of that week’s event, and the guild provides free transformative tonics for those who want to transform into dolyaks or othersuch creatures.

Our goal is to make a loop around the entire map and then have an epic battle.

I just want to thank FA for some good fights tonight in their BL. I am especially thankful of FA handing us blue lake….I was taking a group of players to go take lowlands and as we run run by lake we realize that both walls are down, we just couldn’t resist xD

Yep, I’d been pushing it from Hills for a while. We had trebs on Bluelake, but just no numbers whatsoever to take the actual tower. Pubs can only follow direction so much… despite being told the north wall was open and we could push the lord directly. Instead, lots of fighting at the tunnel. Oh well, we were tops 10 at most.

Score Update:

The worst part of WvWvW is the fact that entire zerg’s don’t load till it’s too late. I should’ve had FRAPS on tonight, an entire group literally appeared after 20 FA’ers were downed. High Pop will just become more zerg, and every other server either gains or just gives up. TC was bad. CD and IoJ aren’t nearly as zergy as that f* server.

Bumping. BT is recruiting players to do organized WvWvW and PvX content.

FA’s pop drops pretty fast after 11pm EST, so far, so good, granted the score is way more in favour of CD/IoJ atm.

Good match up. Glad to be fighting servers other than TC. FA is so NA prime time based, we can’t hold anything in the early morning hours and into the afternoon EST time.

[OBEY] is a transfer from another server that is mostly just a LFG pve channel. I wouldn’t say they represent FA as a server, they’re far from it. I’d say 95% of them simply go into WvWvW to get their monthly tags done then gtfo.

Otherwise, TC should re-evaluate their strat. Held Anzalias keep for a while against more numbers. The zerg it till it’s dead doesn’t work. Two walls down, two failed portal bombs, yeah… vs what? 10 people at most.

Once the game patches, you’d hope there’d be a fix for some terrain exploits in WvWvW, but yet again, another minor fix for ‘temporary’ content.

I don’t think portals should be disabled. Terrain exploits need to be fixed.
