I get this build is strong, and I’m glad to see Necros finally qualify for meta.
But that damage output just looks so boring to me, personally. Never been one for the bunkery builds, and this one rides that line a bit too hard for me. I’m just gonna stick with my marauder amulet and wells.
Good upload though. Let’s keep celebrating our newfound meta status, even if we’re not all running it.
The damage output is extremely low compared to the power necro but this is a very strong build based on boon conversion and survivability and on my channel I also uploaded a standard power necro build guide with game play. Necro’s are very strong and provide high support with this build and it’s nice to play differnt things
Don’t take master of corruption, unless you plan to take consume conditions and corrupt boon, which with signets, you really can’t.
Path of Corruption is so much better (or even terror works). PoC turns your dark paths into condi bombs that inflict 5 condis (with bitter chill) which is really hard for targets to deal with. Dark path is arguably your most improtant skill as a cele necro.
In the video i took PoC and with the cele signet build the condi bomb is amazing. Terror isnt that great with celestial. It applies so much pressure and is a gap closer and condi converted to boons, i agree it is very important.

you should stay on point more to get and prevent decaps. as the bunker you want that point either capped in your favour or neutral for the teamfight.
I mostly was unless I was dying or very low and a bunker guard that is dead can barely put out healing compared to an alive one !

Yes @ Wave but he is right about that stun breaker.
Ult. Goog. is no must have , but to run SD and got no stun breaker at all in Spvp is a Fail and renders your Build useless against any opponent not only Shatter Mes.And there are other thing ( traits you choose ) that wont work against a good oponent either , your build ist basically to suprise Players in Hotjoin Matches with burst , but thats about it.
Well it’s been fine in the past 55 ranked games with the build and I have never joined a hot join. The build has extreme ranged pressure and ranged burst with cc if people come close and you don’t get stunned from a range unless against a Mesmer but then no class can do anything really against a good shatterupt Mesmer
The build has insane healing, higher than nearly every other class thanks to heal skill and mortar 5. It is a 6K base heal with 4 blast finishers that clears 2 condis. Gearshield absorbs bursts nicely and the build can get out damage while blocking still and with the perma vigor you should be able to dodge your way out of most situations. The build does lack stunbreaks and that can be a problem but there is nothing else you can really take. slick shoes doesn’t really fit in the build and you should be within range of stuns. What are the bugs for SD? It seems to proc or go off 100% of the time and does the correct damage/bounces.
Sorry, but wrong. You have no stun breaker and that basically IS the nail in the coffin for this build. Your video shows you dancing all over some poor mesmer that looks like they just started SPvP yesterday afternoon (and others who are already engaged or are just plain bad… hotjoins maybe?), but any decently-skilled shatter mes in the current meta is going to turn around, Power Lock, burst you down instantly, and you will have nothing to stop that.
They’re trying to keep an SD build listed on MetaBattle right now, and I have a lot of problems with that one too. You can find the build here and you can find my discussion posts on why even that version is bad here. I also list the SD build I use there.
There is no halfway viable Static Discharge build without Utility Goggles. It is one of the defining traits of the build, and trying to replace Goggles in that slot doesn’t work for the many reasons listed in my discussion post on MB.
Any decently skilled shatter mes can turn around and lock anyone down. What can you do? No that was a ranked queue, who the hell hotjoins? Utility goggles can be replaced easily it is not required for a SD build, toolkit is amazing for it, as is rifle turret and nades have midrange pressure and the F4 is a burst
All I wish for the hammer is to have decent access to leaps (at least 2), AoE cc (arguably with medium cd’s) & a AA that scales better with power than rifle, somewhere between the range of nades & bombs. If #2 and #3 then come with decent dps as well (high impact / low cd), I’ll be a happy forge, ready to embrace any kittenty minion AI they might throw at us.
Engie hammer will be the greatest! It would probably have 1 leap for mobility purposes, 1 AoE cc, a high slow AA like guardian and the rest would be utility/buffing skills. They need to make hammer viable so it wouldn’t be that bad. Yep, as would I!
No sustain, other than vampirism runes.
Gearshield won’t protect you against necros & mesmers and since you went full baIIs-to-the-walls, you have no come-back mechanic against conditions, as well as thiefs in general.

Recently rebooted an old youtube channel of mine at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCblf2455O_q4QOz4-QfmsUg Wavegu1der on youtube. I make about 20 minute long in depth GW2 PvP guides that cover traits, gear, sigils, runes, rotations and then show it all of in a game at the end. The channel has gone uphill quite quicker than I expected. I obtained a bout 50 subs in a week whereas I expected 1 or 2 a day. I just use some regular gw2 image as the channel art but I would like it to be much nicer and I know some of you guys have insane artistic capabilities so I would appreciate some channel art to be made for my Youtube channel! On the contrary. There should be lots of fights, hand picked fights. cause watching a whole game gets very boring without music. You still want people be entertained, you don’t want them to feel like they are taking a class.
I know you want to do your own style, and no disrespect from that, buy you will get a good idea if you look up on “Yishis commentary” on youtube.
I try to add commentary on the fights and explain how/why i do the things I do and I understand. Should i maybe do some WvW fights like 1v1’s or roaming type things. Yeah I really like the style of video I make and hope others do too and they are aimed at newer players or players who don’t play that build. I’ll also check up that video

I would only watch a 25 minute video of an outnumbered Thief ownage session.- Thank you for showing all the place Infiltrator’s Arrow could work. Pretty sure it also works when teleporting when downed.
- I think people understand better if you do live commenting of 1v1 fights on WvW. Spvp is so crowded it can be complicated for new thieves to understand.
I don’t have much to say about the build. it’s balanced and normal. You move a lot more than I do, so that’s good. I don’t use the Shortbow much.

I understand what you’re saying and i showed a bit of a montage as the intro and then explained all the traits and gear/rotations in the first 10 or so minutes and the rest was a full match of pvp. Should there be no match then? Yeah any blink skill works to go to those places even the downed #2 skill Yeah the build has high health due to maurader, toughness isnt low and the overall damage stats are quite high. Shortbow is great for mobility and utility and moving around. Thanks for the solid feedback, appreciate it.

why don’t you use your virtues while activating RF? its a personal pet peeve of mine seeing other guardians waste a couple of free virtue activations.
I understand, mostly a panic in the middle of a battle as I use RF as an “oh kitten ” button and forget to spam out all 3 virtues, that and I don’t play guard as much as the other classes.
I’m impressed by it, taught me a thing or two about and JI that i never considered before. Thanks for the vid.

I made a 10-11k Whirling Erath build. In conjunction with Feel My Wrath, it melts people in hotjoins. I wouldn’t dare bring it in competitive pvp for obvious reasons.
The issue with Guards is that Mesmers and Rampage bursts are quicker, more reliable, and the classes themselves sustain better. Mesmers can use Berserker amulet and make it viable in tournament play… Guards wont go near it.
Sadly, i’m more impressed with other classes bursts than the Guardians. Watch a Mesmer in Zerkers or Marauders and there’s no comparison. The only thing going for us is the AoE damages the Guard could produce but we’re 2x more unreliable because we’re 3x more counterable in comparison. Teams don’t want power guards, they want bunker Guardians to hold the point, clean condis and give quickness from time to time.
I take this build into ranked pvp and prevail with it quite frequently although it isn’t as effective as some others its still fun to bring the good old mediguard back and since everyone plays bunker guard or burn guard now people are shocked by your burst! Yes I made a shatterupt mesmer build guide w/ game play on the channel also, I would say its better because of the survivability, the engages, bursts and higher range pressure. Yeah bunker/burn guards are way more in the meta for now but this guide is just for fun if you are sick of all that and it obliterates

The build is amazingly powerful and fun, I get to burst down people in seconds…Berserker amulet has way more damage. How’s the survivability with that? I ran it for ages but mesmers could just 1 shot me and thieves were close to it. Does Honor really help that much with survivability? And you lose out on a bit of damage/damage buffs. The burst is crazy yeah got some great clips in the video
The survivability is really good, I sustain myself quiet well in most fights. Question is weather or not it’s worth leaving Zeal for Berserker’s… It needs some testing
I don’t seem to survive nearly as well with berserker amulet, I know its only about 3 more auto attacks of hp but the difference seems to be so massive and the damage although less is worth it for the higher survivability. I dont think it is due to skill level just the amount of burst in the meta and 11K health on a guard is just too low. I also don’t think the build is that good without zeal and the pro’s outweigh the con’s and yes I have tested it
I cannot take seriously any builds without shelter in PVP as of the current <1 sec burst meta. You need shelter more than ever.
And tbh, most medi builds are the same give or take. Zeal vs Radiance are where they tend to differ slightly, but the core is the same.
I spoke about ran shelter in the video, maybe if you watched the video instead of making assumptions it would be better off. I just showed off and spoke about Litany of Wrath since it isn’t a bad 2nd option for a 11K heal every 24 seconds that deals damage and gives fury. This was sword/focus and gs variant where most run sceptre/focus and it is a guide that explains everything then shows it off in a game.

Rampage isn’t anywhere near a guaranteed win every 150 seconds – especially with fewer or more coordinated opponents. A single thief can shut down rampage in its entirety with carefully timed blinds which the warrior has no way of removing outside of wasting a skill or attempting to hit a moving player with the painfully slow autoattack Rampage has to offer. In team fights it’s a bit easier to down opponents, especially when your team is coordinated enough to focus down the same opponents you’re shutting down with CC. Outside of that, though, Rampage is really not as great as people make it out to be.
Thieves and Mesmers can easily take out rampage warriors with co-ordinated attacks. However it is very strong at focusing targets in point fights. Signet is a better choice for the build because of the signet precision buff, the passive and the active buff your damage and mobility
Just that people know, the cd starts to run when you use rampage. So beeing 20s in rampage means you have already waited 20s cd
does the physical skill cooldown trat move it down to 120seconds? If so then Rampage every 100 seconds could be a good investment since it basically guarantees the fight unless you get moa’d or bombed.

Hey wave, your damage seems a little low. Your twitch skills seem good though so I think you could drop SA for CS, or perhaps drop the wurm runes for a power/precision set like pack runes. While you do have 19500 health, that’s about 1-2 auto attacks over the base of mauraders amulet.

Hey, the damage doesn’t seem to be that low as i played with the build more. SA has high condi removal, high stealth up time and massive regen making it a lot safer than CS although CS would give higher damage the damage comes from backstabs mainly. I normally play with pack rune due to its insane stats but since changing from maurader to berserker you only get about 187% crit damage compared to about 202% with the wurm amulet and a lot more health for only sacrificing power. Just a thing i tried out and liked but thanks for the feedback
to be honest executioner is worthless, doesn’t improve your time to kill

I have taken this style of build into consideration as it is a massive damage backstab build although the one i showed also has high sustained damage and is for pvp/wvw. I disagree with executioner being worthless, even due to the thieves low time to kill targets the executioner still adds up with every hit below 50%

It could be improved on a bit, in addition to what poster above me said:
Without changing your choice of utilities, you’ll see a big performance increase by running Incendiary Powder. It gives you an immense damage increase for on the fly pistol poking. Mostly because pistol ranged attacks are naturally pitiful.
In the majority of your fights, its not going to be possible to repeatedly catch people in Fire Bombs (they are not standing still). This means you’re not able to realistically keep your most important condition going, consistently.

Also you need to use the overcharge ability on your Healing Turret. You blow it up without using the heal many times.
Thanks, I have heard of and used Incendiary powder in my builds before but with carrion amulets and basically 0 precision the effect would never trigger with the build
Running another amulet for that trait and a lot more damage would sacrifice a lot of survivability. In the video I died once because of a mistake (that asura was so god kitten tiny) but with Carrion amulet the survivability is high and damage isn’t too bad. When roaming if i want a damage spec I play intel burst rifle with high power and crits, this build is different and serves a different purpose.
I do not like your build.
Explosive III is more useful using bombs. Carrion is also not my choice. Only once source of burning.
Alchemy V is also terrible.
No stunbreak
Sigil Hydromancy is also not my choice. You have no crits so I would take Intelligence.
Thanks for feedback. The whole point of the build is conditions and ranged poking/survivability with strong group fights and lots of AoE. I used to run celestial but carrion is more helpful with the damage. Yes I do not have a stunbreak which should be fixed but I find I dont need one too often. Hydro gives a chill and you will proc it whenever it is off cd and with no ferocity I do not need 3 crits, with rifle Intel sigil would be much better

Old ET Commander that transfered to BP for other reasons. I was pretty into WvW. Commander Agreggor might be a familiar name for some. Used to command in WvW nearly everyday about ~6 months ago. Really good in dueling, soloQ’d with this for 10 matches and won 8. Duelling capability is really good with good mobility and burst if needed.
Signet for Bunker? No thanks. Just looking at the utilities I see you lose so much sustain with Signet of Resolve instead of Shelter (Being bunker do you really think you will gain the full heal from the signet, like Shleter does, while blocking?) not to mention Signets don’t do anything for your team with exception of the one that resses 1 person and for you. 2 condis removed with Protection and Regen gain is to good to switch. Beside Shouts, bunker can work to with Concecrations I think, but I think Shouts are the best
The 10% reduced damage seems neccessary and the 180heal power is good, but i do change that out. I use StandYourGround For Stability and more retal. Is shelter that good? ill try it out.
I’ve been experimenting with builds for a while now, this has been the best bunker build i’ve seen by far. The retal is 100% up and burning deals decent damage. Very good at holding fights and winning duels, even against high dps enemies. Please tell me what u think of it and try it out!
