Thats why always doing runs with guildies or pugs i trust due running with them servral times.
When you are pugging :host the dungeon problem solved. When they kick you nobody gets a reward. That will teach them! Or take the screen shot option.
But I rather have the host option. You know at least that they aren’t getting a reward as well. When you report people kicking you from dungeon before reward you are not sure if and when they are (temp) banned.
I hope this helps. Because dungeons are really fun. Its a shame to miss all that fun. I am hoping that this post takes some of the fear away.
Well organized guilds will blast your waterfields and the amount health that generates is not influenced by the elementalist healing power… Therefore in that situation your healing power doesn’t really matter for WvW. It’s better to put those points into damage.
Sure you can add 200-300 more per tick, but when being hit for 2000k+ in the heat of battle it will not make such a difference. The group strategy with the fields is more important.
Agreed:
-Blasts do not scale to my Healing Power to other players so its useless there.
-200/300 per tick with a 2k hit does not sound like much indeed.
However the combination of regeneration + soothing mist + condition cleans = heals from the waterfields = everybody almost full health all the time.
You have a point that waterfield and blasts are important and can be doable in coordinated groups. However that alone will not get you anywhere it heals too little and in wvw in the heat of battle there is always someone laying a different field on your field. So its not reliable enough as a main source of healing ( blasting trough waterfields) You need a combination of all those factors.

Signet of Restoration Instead of Glyph of Elemental Harmony -
I hope you don’t mind me giving some feedback.
When you cast a lot of spells it so heals more over time. However when you get regeneration you cleanse conditions ( with my build) and since every time you hit the heal button (in every attunement with dwayna) you get regeneration for you and your party members. So I think you heal more with signet but cleansing conditions is for me just too good to prevent indirect damage. So I have to disagree here
2 Superior runes of the Monk, 2 Superior runes of the Water and 2 Major runes of the Monk instead of 6 Superior runes of Dwayna
I get the idea that you want to max healing, the way how to do that is extent the period of time where the boons are active. However I prefer a burst heal then more healing over time. When people need heals they mostly low on health and a good burst heal and condition cleanse can save a player from getting downed while a longer heal may net heal more but you get nothing from it if the player gets downed. At least thats what happens to me when i was experimenting with boon duration. So thats why I prefer Dwayna over boon duration. So I have to disagree here
I understand you completely why you want to have boon duration because an ele has so much boons. But (for me) it worked not that well as a pure heal build.
10 trait points into Earth instead of Air
This is to get Armor of Earth on autoactivate, so I won’t have to put that into my Utility skill bar.
Thats true but you give up on a reduced cd on your healing skill / party heal + condition cleanse. So I have to disagree here, it takes so long for the armor of earth to recharge
Aquamancer’s Alacrity (Trust me, 4 seconds off of Geyser and 9 seconds off of Healing Rain is noticable)
Party members in general benefit more form those 2 skills then a few seconds of regeneration extra for only you. I am going to change my water trait and test it for a few days. So I have to agree here its a good idea ^^
Burning Retreat should actually be your main fire field, rather than eruption. It lasts longer, so if you attune to earth while rolling you can actually manage to catch it with Eruption’s abyssmal cast time, meaning you can start the battle with several stacks of might for your party.
My Usual chain goes like this: Burning retreat > Attunement: Earth > Eruption > Dodge roll for Churning Earth > Arcane wave While rollingThat’s 9 stacks of Might for 30 seconds on the team, and I can stack another 4 when my Fire attunement comes off cooldown (Eruption + Lava Font).
Man thats a good rotation! Mind if add that in to the build?
My Utility skills are also different, I use Arcane Wave, Arcane Shield and Glyph of Renewal, though I might pick up Mist form instead of Arcane Shield and I generally exchange Glyph of Renewal for whatever the situation calls for (Such as Ice bow) but I generally run with it as it has really helped me out a few times (Especially the multi-revival of Earth).
Hmm replacing ice bow with glyph of renewal is great.
Guardians stack Might faster, remove Condis faster, heal the team for more and has greater access to defensive buffs. Sad but true.
Not true you have still 3 party condi cleanse and 4 times self condi cleanse and healing after your nice feedback.
Thanks to your feedback I am going to replace:
1. Soothing Wave ->Aquamancer Alacrity
2. Ice bow -> Glyph of Renewal
Thank you!
Ok build, but whyyyyyyyyyy would you take conjurer????
Is anyone going to spam the auto-attack with the frost bow?
For FGS you barely have time to spend all the 25 charges before it runs out, making the trait pointless for anything but the hammer.
Nope frost bow’s aoe ( number 4 skill) does a lot of damage to big bosses, try it and you’lll see.
Fiery Greatsword is nice even tough you auto attack it improves your power a lot. Best thing to do its number 4 laying a fire field then spin back hitting him most with number 3 then aoe him with 5 and then auto attack repeat when cd is over.
I am using this build: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/Aquamancer-1/first#post2897551
A dedicated healer/ condition+ conjurer of bows and great swords cleanser works well in the front DPS groups.
Bringing glyph of renewal to the TEQ fight is a really good idea, i am going to change that to my build with arcane wave since its hard to do blast-finishers with all those fields.
TY for the idea .
On topic:
I think you have a overall good build there.
+
Good DPS since you can’t crit and the extra conjure charges are a nice touch. In terms of survivability you do a really good job in neglecting direct damage.
- You have not much condition cleanse options
Note to self: Never go on forums when sleepy. And I am sorry I can’t give an answer to that question though. Maybe you get lucky and a dev responds. You never know ^^

Here is my DPS build if you want to try. Its pretty unconventional.

You should try reaching the 18k health and 1300 toughness and when you reach that focus everythin else to damage. That’s what I did for my D/D ele for WvW.
Off topic:
Yes I put that build in the comments as a quote that DPS does not work for me. Because when I get myself more survivability then I would only get moderate DPS.
I made that suicidal build just to farm CoF with zerk groups.
On topic
But what do you think about a pure heal spec? I am curious how most people on the forums think about that.
You want to use Glyph of Renewal because you want to heal for quite a bit or full health?
You have an alternative solution:
-In water use the major traits soothing wave and soothing disruption for a longer regeneration ( they do stack).
-Try to dodge in water in mistform with evasive arcana in the arcana trait line to heal up.
Combine the the two and you have a similar effect.
I’m glad someone finally made a good support ele build!
I think I made a build very similar to this one the other day, and it worked really well. I like it!
Thank you for you complements! Can you link your build you made? I could not find it on the forums but I defiantly want to check it out.
(edited by Wiz.1543)
Does anyone wants to give some feedback of the build? All feedback is appreciated ^^
Im curious, what kind of content do you enjoy this build in most? I am generally against pidgeonholing ele into healing support but if you have fun with it i’d like to understand your point of view. Do you run mostly with a static group of people? Dungeons? Some flavor of pvp? Have you tried DPS builds and found them lacking?
It just seems like youre investing everything youve got into something every class is hard wired to accomplish themselves. Its ignoring the best part of combat in this game.
I usually run with different people I like diversity. The content I enjoy with this build:
-Defeating Tequatl. It helps a lot when every group has one ele healer / condition cleanser .
-Dungeons which contain a lot of condition applying mobs.
I am not experienced in sPvP but I can see some potential in capping points together with a zerk build ( any profession).
Yes to DPS I have been running my own version of the LH DPS build which can do Warrior like DPS, problem is when content gets more difficult you get downed all the time.
Here is my DPS build if you want to try. Its pretty unconventional.

This is my current heal staff build: The Aquamancer: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/Aquamancer-Staff-Heal-Elementalist/first#post2875213
While I run a build similar to this in sPvP and PvE, it’s important to note that the upcoming changes aren’t really healing buffs. Water Blast will heal (with full healing gear in sPvP) for only 200 more. Most bigger dungeon bosses are too big for your Water Blast to heal even the melee people.
Thank you for your input! That’s true but every little buff to the build is nice . The biggest strength in this build is the boon: regeneration with high healing power and the condition cleansing what comes with it.

Overview:
I Summary
II Skills
III Traits
IV Gear
I Summary:
The reason for making this build is the upcoming changes to the Elementalist. They are now the jack of all traits but master of none. This could change. Reading the high level official upcoming patch notes the Elementalist could become a master of healing. This build will be buffed in the future but is effective today. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/October-15th-balance-skills-updates-preview/first#post2832788
This is my 2nd big guide on staff Elementalist. I hope you enjoy! All feedback is welcome ;-)
Elementalist
‘’We’re working on the staff in an effort to make it a stronger support weapon, and we also improved the conjure weapons so that they’re stronger for support. You’ll see improvements to all 4 of the conjure weapons to make them stronger and better for support.
We also increased the healing on Water Blast, the radius on Geyser and we reworked
Unsteady Ground to make it function more like line of warding.’’
Therefore I present you the Aquamancer!
Below are the strengths and weaknesses of the Aquamancer in a PvX environment.
Strengths:
Superb survivability
Great team healing and regeneration (The outgoing and selfheal regeneration boon scales with healing power)
Great team condition cleansing
Strong crowd control
Strong versatility in short and long range healing /attacking
Weaknesses:
Very little dps
The high healing potential can be jeopardized by people with low healing power also giving regeneration to party members overwriting your regeneration
Regeneration will be limited to 5 players in the future
Very little condition pressure
It’s easy with this build to get distracted because you don’t have to pay much attention on your health bar.
The core mechanics of this build lie in the regeneration and condition cleansing which does scale with healing power on outgoing heals and self-healing.. However regeneration counts in order of appliance.
‘’The regeneration boon provides healing over time. The Healing Power attribute directly increases effectiveness of most outgoing and self-healing.’’
Source: http://wiki.guildwar...om/wiki/Healing
Some simple calculations on effectiveness of healing power scaling.
5 + (1.5625 * Level) + (0.125 * Healing Power) per tick
0 HP @ lvl 80: 5 + (1.5625 * 80) = 130 health points healed per second
1500 HP @ lvl 80: 5 + (1.5625 * 80) + (0.125 * 1500) = 317.5 health points healed per second
Difference: 244%
Take 5 seconds of that:
0 HP will heal a total of 650 health points
1500 HP will heal a total of 1587 health points
As you can see HP scales very well with regeneration
What do you get get with this core mechanic:
You get 5 items regeneration and thus 5 times condition cleanse for yourself and 3 of those also apply to nearby party members. Together with very high healing power you can heal your party members good. That’s excluding the passive heal while staying in water attunement and the blast finishers in the 2 water fields and Geyser water field heal skill
I use gw2buildcraft.com because it most up to date of all the Guild Wars 2 build sites.

it would be helpful tho to hear dev’s opinion about this in a serious discussion.
Agreed, I would be pleasantly surprised if they respond to this. But I don’t have any expectations here.
I think the problem lies in what an Elementalist should be. According to this it should be a jack of all traits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRo6W22FfTI
In my opinion as a player who loves the versatility of an Elementalist, there should be something else the Elementalist should be a master of. As long as it not conflicts with the other professions.
Why? I always feel underpowered literately every other profession is better at doing something.
What do you all think the Elementalist should be a master of what?
Please answer in a constructive way, me nor the developers get anything from answers like free kills or easy loot-bags.
(edited by Wiz.1543)
What is an Elementalist for you?
1. Jack of all traits master of none -> versatile
2. A niche discipline which was not intended by developers but works
(edited by Wiz.1543)
How hard can it be to remove the bots!? I can only assume they don’t care…
They do care. I was there since release. I have experienced several bot ban waves. Banning bot networks is not as simple as banning a bot based on a report. They want to first observe so they can collect data on how the bots work. And then mass ban them and implement auto ban code based on the data. So that real players being wrongly banned as bots kept to a minimum.
If you buy a lot of gems with real life cash and exchange them for in game gold, hypothetically you could get the prices down to even below 1g . However this would require some insane amount of money.

I see the gauntlet is now closed. To bad I missed it the wiki. I wish I red the forums more often so I knew it. I thought I had until September 3, my bad. snif snif
Edit patch notes:
Ongoing Festivities
The Crown Pavilion and Queen’s Gauntlet will close for maintenance on September 3. Look for their return in the future!
I am a bit sad I am unable to complete it. I think I should be able to try to defeat Liadri. But I am not a dev. I know living story wise its a bit strange.
Any chance Liadri + mini are coming back? I really want to complete this personal goal of mine ^^

Unrelated:
At least part of the reason threads like this spawn and are so volatile is that many people seem to only want to prove they know a lot of jargon and very few things are explained at a level that someone who isn’t a graduate in economics could understand. Certainly this isn’t John Smith’s job – although he does seem to enjoy taking time out to belittle people in threads who counter his theories – but I’ve yet to see many people explain things this complex at a level that is accessible. And of course this isn’t going to stop everyone from countering or believing their own views, but it might help. (Of course, I’m assuming that anyone cares or wishes to help, which may itself be unrealistic.)When I originally wrote the explanation of what has happened before, I had intended it to be accessible (and at the time thought I accomplished that), but after re-reading it and your post I agree that I did not succeed.
Mr. Smith has explained properly in my opinion. For all the other forum lurkers out here: I am sure not the only one who really appreciates these explanations of him. Show some appreciation ^^
And what happens if two people try to summon this at the same time?
Caladbolg + Caladbolg = magic combo, Trahearne appears.
Kills (of boredom) every allies in the area.
When summoning Trahearne in a dungeon he gets the dungeon reward instead of the players. Edit: And all the credit for defeating.
Great idea! Like the Conjure Fiery Greatsword :-) Could be awesome.
Imagine Guild Wars 2, wit DBZ powers… the possibilities… Lets call it Guild Wars Z :p
IMHO, the sickle is good as it is. I really like the current animation. Although one can say: Its super special ultra mega über chocolaty fudged awesome. But that spot is reserved for the prettiest of the 2 wing back pieces of the Dragon fest ^^.
Yes I know its a bit fanboy. But the reason why I am saying this is is I don’t know how much they even can improve the animation and I rather have them spent their energy on something else. Living story/ Expansion/ Maybe Ascended dungeon armor. 1000 tokens a piece.

Ditto, besides you dont really want Berzerker because its bad
So what is not bad?
I Think he meant PTV gear, I love it. It really kept me alive during the bomb run in FOTM (dredge) yesterday.
I just thought I’d chime in here. It’s worth taking note that certain mobs and bosses have a huge hit box in those situations using Meteor Shower as a dps tool can actually come in handy when most hits are landing on 1 mob, all be the situation it few and far between.
I have to aggree on bosses with big hit boxes which dont run like crazy ( Abomination like) it is in fact a very viable way of attacking. However it can happen that the shower doesn’t even hit once…
It’s still nice for hits vs a zerg in WvW too also if you activate Glyph of Elemental Power in water attunement switch to fire then meteor shower it’ll proc chilled effect over a nice area along with your other available aoes over the 30s duration too very handy tool for control plus the -66% recharge rate for some quality trololol
How does that work? Chill over a large area with glyph of elemental power and meteor shower. I tried it on some bots in pvp but I can’t seem to pull it off.
it is worth mentioning the mechanics of how it works for some of the spells mentioned
glyph of storms –
- sandstorm does not cause blindness every second. i think it is once per 3 seconds, up to 5 targets.
- i personally prefer ice storm, chilled for 2-3s per hit, duration stacks.
Thank you I am going to edit that one in the build :-). Personally I also use the water or the fire one. Love the chill and the big numbers.
cleansing water – if you play spvp, this is nerfed to 5s CD, which makes it pretty useless – i also play a mesmer, which does amazing stun breaks and condition removals that makes my ele laughable now. ele was so godly in removing conditions that i almost never needed stun breakers to flee from zerg. pro tip: if you have cast time to spare, using air/inscriptions trait and casting any glyph also removes conditions in water attune
Cleansing water is nice and indeed the inscription is pretty good. I was experimenting with that. However I could not find any justification into putting 20 into air and subtract something from 30 arcana or give up armor of earth at 50% or remove something from 30 in to water
for gear in PVE – i’m amazed that PVT gear protects much better than zerker – if you make mistakes in PVE, you will down often no matter what gear you have. i find lightning flash is my best life saver – the only cantrip that instantly break stuns AND recovers from blowouts. in pve, you should never try to tank = i.e. prioritize casting a spell (small dent to enemy hp bars) over getting hit really hard. spend more time dps + dodging, and less time from trying to be a hero/ recovering from down state.
also if you like big numbers, you really need constant fury + crit damage – hence berzerkers is just beautiful, esp for videos/ screenshots hope the above helps.
PTV gear does in fact protects better then Zerker gear while still having the same power. I can now run with the bombs and place them without getting downed at dredge fractal. Or I can cast more AOEspells in the assassins chamber CoF P2 because I have stability and dont have to worry so much about health anymore. Yes you could do it with Zerker I am not saying it is impossibru. The reason why I prefer PTV over Zerk is that I can spent more time AOE then on positioning and trying to survive.
(edited by Wiz.1543)
Thats just awesome. Thanks for sharing^^ I hope they remove the obligatory 30 arcana, and into some lesser extent 30 in water. What i mean by obligatory is that these traits are just too good to have compared to the others.
Next to traits I also hope they do something about the attunement cooldown so you don’t have to put 30 in arcana as well.
My bad I thought that taking Soothing Disruption AND Cantrip Mastery wouldnt mean wasting 2 traits for one ability. You build is a catastophy, sorry
Yes 2 traits for one ability seems weird, it bugged me too. But I found the others not worth it. Do you have a better suggestion for a AOE / Tank build?
If you want to play staff the range factor makes that you wear full offense gear (I’d say rampager for Chest/Staff/Legs/Helm and Zerk for the rest) noone needs stability or Soldier gear to channel a Meteor Shower in PvE.
For one skill you are perfectly fine without soldiers and stability. However when you have meteor 5 / glyph of storms forstbow 4 and greatsword 5. An interrupt or too much damage so you have to retreat is very bad for dps.
(edited by Wiz.1543)
Gear is soldiers everything
Stopped skip-reading there.
If you read somewhat further you’ll understand why I use PTV gear. Its because of the channeling time + you have to stay still for casting the AOE.
for PVE, don’t need PVT at all – if you’re getting downed a lot in dungeons/fractals, you gotta rethink what you’re doing
for WvW, half PVT as staff is fine, if you’re not a total baddie you can add in some other stuff
there’s only 2 things you need to stand still for: meteor shower (just time it carefully) and water 5 (it’s short cast), rest is all on the move anyway
you don’t need full PVT gear
I have to agree in general PvE content you dont need as much PTV if you can dodge and position. Except higher level Fractals and Arah
I have to disagree on the frostbow´s AOE have to stand still.
What gear would you suggest for this build, and why?

This is my staff elementalist PvE build after 1200+ hours of gameplay. The guide is too elaborate to place here so I made it a separate topic. I love to see some positive/negative criticism. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/After-1200-hours-my-final-staff-Ele-build/first#post2140804
Hello everybody, feel free to give feedback to the build.
My mission is to revive the staff elementalist from a downed state. ^^
Here you can find which utility skills / traits/ gear and infusions I use.
http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/elementalist/?1.5|6.1c.h1h|0.0.0.0.0.0|1c.71g.1c.71g.1c.b1h.1c.71h.1c.7o.1c.7o|2u.0.2u.0.2u.0.2u.0.2u.0.3u.0|0.0.a3.u39b.u58b|0.0|1l.1s.1y.23.28|e
The reasoning behind the choices I made in my build:
Reason for traits and utility skills:
Protection
-Earth’s embrace for armor of earth which grants you protection and stability to do your big AOE spells’s
- Armor of earth for the same purpose just before to pop out AOE I use this. I use cantrip mastery for a shorter cooldown. With those stability you down have to worry about being interrupted while channeling.
-Elemental attunement if you switch to earth you gain protection in combination with 2 runes of earth 2 runes of water and 2 runes of the monk switching gives a 33% damage reduction for 8 seconds. For you and everybody around you.
Heals
-Elemental attunement if you switch to water you get regeneration
-Soothing disruption if you use armor of earth you get regeneration
-Evasive arcane when you dodge you get healed in water
-Soothing Mist is nice to have for as a passive heal while you swap between attunements.
Condition removal
-Ether renewal clears a condition with every pulse +heal
- Cleansing water: every regeneration cures also a condition. So armor of earth and Attuning to water cures a condition.
AOE
Blasting staff so with an bigger area of effect for fire 2 and of course water 5 and 4.
Too bad fire 5 does not increase in size.
-Glyph of Storms in fire
Although the other attunements can be pretty handy too it depends on the situation. Sandstorm does not cause blindness every second. I think it is once per 3 seconds, up to 5 targets. Ice storm, chilled for 2-3s per hit, duration stacks.
-Frostbow number 4
-Greatsword Number 5
- Meteor shower although the dps is low compared to the rest of the AOE options. Especially compared to the channeling time. I don’t use this skill very often. only if the rest is on cooldown. I hope it will get buffed.
Sigil of battle every attunement counts as weapon swap. So nice might stacking.
Gear:
Gear is soldiers everything: Why? You want to maintain power for you AOE. Toughness comes as a good second stat because its really making you healing more effective, since you already have low base health. While vitality even further increases your tank. The infusions are power because you want to compensate for the lack of critical damage.
For more information about how toughness and vitality works go here: http://sittingonacouch.com/the-gw2-m...esmer-numbers/
Its explained in a fun way definitely worth listing to.
Keybinds:
All default except:
Q Utility 6
E Utility 7
R Utility 8
X Elite
C Heal
Reason for making the build:
This is a build mainly based on PvE experience.
I played glass canon staff elementalist for 100s of hours, I liked the damage but I found myself downed a lot compared to other classes. So I thought what would happen if I went totally bunker WITHOUT sacrificing on dps, to a degree where it makes the build unplayable.
First thing what came in mind: What is the nature of a staff elemenlist? To me it was keeping a distance while maintaining damage. So that’s where the thought of AOE comes in to play.
I get this question often: Why combining Bunker and AOE its sounds odd no synergy? If you are doing AOE you keep your distance and if you are good enough at positioning you won’t die.
But you have to consider the channeling time and the many interrupts that could kill all your dps. While your channeling some could just burst you down or interrupt you.

Glad it was worth the effort.
Yes it was. I really like the end result :-) You made me curious how much time and effort goes in patch like this? Is it a few hours or a few days?
Is it just me or does CoF gets contested very fast since the new patch?
Dev’s you may not have responded to the thread, but I noticed you fixed the problem. Thank you! I am very happy now that I can use the combo without bugging out, its perfect for my build. Thanks again
!
Same here, I have heard some guildies got 2 rares from the golem. But i didnt get anything
This bug, if it’s the same bug, has been around for months and treated here and in the elementalist forum.
The weapon is conjured but disarmed immediatly by the sigil attivation. It also happens when another character with the sigil picks up the weapon with his sigil active, but I cannot confirm this.
Sadly for now the only solution is swapping attunement and conjure the weapon during sigil cooldown
Thank you 4 months, thats long!
I hope the devs will notice this bug . For this otherwise superb game.
I have the superior Sigil of Hydromancy equipped.
When I conjure weapons the instantly disappear.
How to replicate bug:
Equip a Sigil of Hydromancy
Equip a summon skill of the elementalist: axe/bow/shield/greatsword.
Go into combat and then summon a weapon within 9 seconds WITHOUT swapping attunements.
How I cope with the bug: swap attunements before summoning.
From my observations : The conjure weapon counts as a weapon swap it then triggers the sigil but then goes to the normal weapon skills.
I tried to post this as clear as I could. If you have any questions or remarks please respond.
I like the sigil but when sometimes my conjure weapons disappears it can turn the tide of battle.

Underworld (EU) currently open. I am not sure when it happened.
Thanks m8
Or place it here if a EU server is open^^
Any EU server open?
^ This made my day. :-) Great sense of humor.
I am sure that both the PvP skill bug and the animation bug on the scythe staff are topics that have to be adressed too. But I think you should create new topics for those issues as I guess that they won’t be noticed in this thread.
Ok I have made a separate thread on that bug;)
The Halloween Scythe staff skin has the same bug as the Final Rest I thought it was intended so I did not report. I made a separate thread apart from Final Rest to raise awareness.
Here a nice picture of the bug in action.

I think I made a build very similar to this one the other day, and it worked really well. I like it!
