Nice fights on Deso BL tonight, the lag at garrison was immense (really needs fixing) but it was a pretty interesting three way battle there

As a guild that only does WvW I feel that we are often forgotten in these updates, everything is focused towards PVE /SPVP. If we had some communication we could give some pointers as to what WvW really needs, as could many other WvW orientated guilds within the game. As it stands now, WvW is going to die due to the lack of understanding , communication and general care that is given to WvW.

As a guild of 300 members that only want to WvW we cannot progress with updates like this last one in place. Please think before adding random PVE events into WvW that ruin game play and have little to no effect on the situation of the losing server.

Deso isn’t in a freefall at all, true we went into T3 this week but we’re between T2 and T3 which I think is a nice, competative place to be,this is being achieved by a tight community and truthfully we could use a few more WvW guilds to keep us at this nice, competative level.

I’m biased, but you should give Desolation a look. While it’s true we have had a shaky start, being dragged into first place before we were ready and subsequently abandoned by RUIN as they couldn’t take the heat of actually fighting, we are doing 100% better now.

We have a friendly WvW alliance which is very supportive and well executed, the problem we currently have is that we need another couple of well informed guilds to join Desolation to help us cover our borderlands! We have very short queues, community forums (we-will-desolate.net) / TS and a great sense of how to fight all of the servers in the top three tiers.

Wherever you choose to take your guild I wish you the best, but give us a once over, I promise you’ll like what you see here at Desolation.

Gonna add to this thread despite my better judgement – some of the comments regarding IRON are pretty funny

As far as the guild imploding goes, no not a chance. We lost one greedy player – the rest of the guild are perfectly fine and are still going to be kicking kitten and taking names in WvW.

As far as RUIN goes – I too heard that they were ‘worried’ about IRON imploding and left cause of that. Total bullkitten, why would what’s happening in one guild matter to them, and also they never contacted IRON to even ask what was actually happening. Bull.Kitten.

I feel for Blacktide, now having to deal with RUIN. They did have an impact on Desolation, but I would not say it was a positive impact. Apart from a few (3 I can think of) RUIN players, all are PvDoor orientated and lack any real skill or coordination, evidenced by their need to jump ship only a few days into this matchup rather than actually manning up and trying.

So as far as that leaves Desolation, we’ll fall back down to a more manageable tier and enjoy that!

Just to address a couple of points:

Iron theives aren’t ‘exploiting’ they are using game mechanics to troll your zerg. If you have a problem with this please don’t come into this post whining about exploiting, we don’t ever exploit, try making a post somewhere where someone might care.

florence.1674 – I for one can honestly say that without guilds like GoD, GT, GH, LoR, RGB, TSL nothing would get done. It’s not all IRON, it’s not all RUIN. It is a collective of guilds working together. We are in (some) contact with each other, infact many of these guilds use the alliance TS to communicate – this communication can only get better and will by using our community site! You are welcome to poke me ingame for this is you don’t have it and by all means pass it along to all fellow Deso players.

Lastly (for now xD ) kudos to Same.4687 (NUG) really enjoying this match up!

Has been a really fun night in Vizunah Borderlands (although there were few french).

Excellent fun fighting Blacktide, much respect to SFRJ, GF, NUG for the fights!

Had a few nice standoffs with you all, IRON and buddies enjoyed it alot, especially wiping your zerg with 8 guys and a ballista in the hills lord room. But alas you have the map(s) now and we shall have to wait for the server to wake!

Vizunah had no presence on their own borderland after the reset, want to fight more of you, bring it!

As this matchup draws to a close i’m reading through this thread wondering how it ended with so much bad sportsmanship.

Anyhow, good game to Farshiverpeaks. Last night was by far the most fun i’ve had in WvW FSP BL – Cragtop, Garrison, Sunnyhill! Just couldn’t break your defenses, and the ‘out in open’ battles were great fun. Props to you guys for keeping going despite the night capping.

Kodash, you guys did ok, out manned alot of the time and generally very easy to take down. However you did slow us down from time to time!

IRON are looking forward to the next week of WvW, it will show what we are really made of on Desolation, and I hope that the alliances of Desolation work together to make us number one in the (near) future.

It’s intersting to read though this post and see the general attitude towards Ruin.
People seem to forget that for the last three weeks prio to this match up (and Ruin arriving) we had no queues at any time of the day on and borderlands, and that we were beaten down by each match up.

Ruin are not causing the new thirty minute (ish) queues, it’s every other person on the server who logged in, pressed B, saw we were losing and thought kitten that!

Fair weather WvW players. They are to blame for the queues. Perhaps if these players had manned up and bought the pain a couple of weeks ago Ruin would not have transferred over. So please, think before you go bashing on them, they are a nice bunch of guys and are working well within our alliences to bring our server back up to scratch.

Onto the match up! Regardless of the ‘nightcapping whine’ (yes IRON have been staying up with a night team for the past few weeks) both Angry Rock and Blackslide are easily beaten, not really a tier we should be in so personally I will be happy to move up and find a real challange.

Ok last thing, thanks for the free badges Angry Rock, had fun wiping you guys all afternoon and night

For what, the tenth time this week our orb has been taken out of our keep and gone across the map in a record ten seconds.

Is it seriously that hard you Kodash or Seafarer’s to play fair? Or for Anet to fix this game breaking hack?

It’s bad enough that half the time you can’t even see the enemy (or since the ‘patch’ other team members) without letting these sorts of people go around ruining what used to be a pretty fun game.

The siege we had at the keep lord was awesome, the double teaming they did to try and get us and still they failed.

We really are getting more organised, we just need more people talking to each other and making plans!

Not at all, i love coordination but really, try looking to your own server for it instead of crying to another, what’s next, do you want Desolation to lie down and just let you win too since you can’t do it alone?

Kinda funny reply, instantly going to ‘young’ and ‘lad’, I am acually neither so ye, kinda funny.

Strategy is fine, so is ganging up on one server, but going onto the forums and begging for help is the funniest thing i’ve ever seen.

And since I like to be childish – go face-rub a gate.

Came across this thread today.

I’m from Desolation, in [IRON] and to be fair, you are the whiniest bunch of gate-face rubbers i’ve had the pleasure of beating down in a while. Desolation may not be the most organised server, we are working on that, but at least we don’t have to go begging to other servers in order to get things done.
