Tangled Death is only a waist of time i have to pass to go to DS

Before we had dungeons with nice rewards and fractals with ascended gear. With HOT they introduced a new content and murdered dungeons, and reduced the loot on fractals.
Does that mean that in the next expension they are going to nerf raids in order to force us to play to their new content?

First off, I love the edit that changed the mac only to 32bit overal memory usage. Took me a few hours to see that one. Then I went straight to resetting my bios to standard settings (no extra memory allocation to apps) to test it.

32bit windows here, and I have had issues since the LAUNCH of HoT.
And, by the Gods it works now, finally. The last patch from a few hours ago that lowered the memory thing has done it. Tested and confirmed. No tricks, no bios changes, just run gw2 and go.

Thanks for everyone who came with fixes yesterday/today before this update, and now thanks to the Anet techies too. Now let’s just do NO updates that break thing like these for a while.

Good news! Did the crashes stop in the meta event too? Did you have the time to test it?

Fractal rewards are being fixed in December. Complaining about something with a fix already in the pipeline is a waste of everyone’s time.

Hm i wonder why instead of fixing it right now they are waiting until december.
Maybe it’s to force us to go to raids. (Which is dumb because i don’t need forcing to go to new content)

If you have a problem with the Mac client, complain to Apple, not to ANet or any other developers, for not being willing to play nicely with everyone else.

Anet say HoT work with Mac client. Sell game to Mac customer and say work, But many say do not and client worse than ever.. Anet should not advertise it work when do not. Bold letter here to make point like you.

Even Anet admit Mac clint is bad.

The community got fired up and ANet compromised at 250 which means capping all hero challenges on the first two maps and then picking up a few more on the third or going back to core game and picking up missing hero challenges

Dude, again it’s with the execution. How cool would it have been if we had some lore behind the elite specializations. For exemple, with the dragon hunter, we have in the story, braham (guardian) picking up eir’s bow. And SPOILER, his mother being killed by the dragon, he becomes a dragon hunter. And you playing a guardian you learn with him. Or for exemple the asura ingeneer. SHe lacks materials, so she starts picking up stuff from the wreckage in order to creat thise little drones used by the engi’s elite.
(haven’t completed the story yet, so maybe that happens but i surely doubt it)

But no “here’s the game, you have random elit specs. grind points for each characters and it’s yours”

And it’s not like they talk about it, informing us about new patches…

Yeah i couldn’t take it anymore, i uninstalled the game, and bought Fallout 4 on Amazon.

We paid for a working expension. Never in the history of the universe was there a more expensive expension. And for some people it’s unplayable because of the constant crashes. And now you want us to pay more every month, for them to give us what we paid for? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Now that i spent 45€ for the game, 45€ for the expension you can’t tell me : "oh thanks for your money but the mac version isn’t made for this game.

Paying for the base game only to discover the Mac client was rubbish is certainly something to complain about .. but knowing that it was rubbish you STILL went ahead and paid for the expansion and are still complaining about it.

Hey buddy! I wrote that before HOT i had no problem with the core game. Since HOT i had a lot of crashes (and with the patch i had problems everywhere).

When the expension was announced i was so exited. So much great ideas were put in to it.
Elite specialization, divided fractals, the jungle. And that’s why i agreed to pay 45€ for what is one of the most expensive expension ever.

Now what was my experience?
Well it seems like for every good idea that you had, there was really poor execution.
Let me explain:
—> Elite specialization: the principal is awesome. But the execution: well i spent 2 and a half weeks of the expension grinding hero points. It was HP after HP, character after character. And the grind slowly became the reason why i logged in. “i couldn’t start the meta event without finishing my elite specialzation”. At some point when i did my herald, i started playing with netflix on the side. you are not supposed to play a game while watching netflix (on the Ipad). A good game doesn’t require netflix on the side not to keep you bored.

—> The Meta events: these are awesome.
The probleme is the constant crashes. I remember the time i went to do the Dragonstad Meta Event, i crashed 4 times. The last time was at the end of the mouth of mordremoth when the final boss was at 10%. The game crashed, i couldn’t get back to the server. And that’s how i lost 1h45 of my life.
Same thing in verdant brink, and auric.
Now with the new patch the crashes are everywhere, even in central tyria while doing regular stuff in the lions arch. It’s not possible to play in these conditions.

—> Party content
Instead of having a huge game with a huge quantity of things to do: dungeons, fractals, the jungle, raids. You nerfed the 5 person content.
Fractals are garbage now. I was so exited by the fractured fractals but the rewards aren’t there anymore.
Dungeons? I loved doing this with my guildies, well not anymore since you completly nerfed the rewards.
It’s like you are forcing us to go to maguma, and raids. You won’t let us enjoy what we want. Don’t get me wrong maguma is awesome, but i like to do different stuff, and now i can’t.

The principal is awesome (again). And again the execution is poor. It is so expensive. Small guilds can’t aford it. And the arena is useless because we are fighting with PVE gear…

Now i am really disapointed. And it’s not for a lack off trying to like this expension. I have been playing hours every day since it’s release.
This evening, with the latest patch i crashed 4 times.
I play on a mac and there is no 64 bit version. I play with Medium settings and yet the game crashes constantly (never happened before HOT) and the bugs are getting really frustrating.

That’s why i uninstalled the game. GW2, was a way to relax after work for me. These last few weeks it has been a source of great frustration.
See ya, i’m gonna go buy fallout 4

I didn’t read all the thread but here’s what i think:
—>Always have a melee set and a range weapon set
—> Meleeing a champion is unsafe
—> Going with a berzerker build (power/preccision/ferocity) in HOT is more than unsafe (i don’t know use the signet that gives toughness, or increse a little ur defensif stats)

So much craches in the meta event, i don’t event dare to play them anymore. I invest so much time in them an right at the end i get kicked out of the game and sometimes can’t get back on the server.

And don’t tell me to lower my settings. Everything has always been runing perfectly. And i bought gw2 for the amazing graphics. So Fix you mistakes.

Looks like making an update every 3 weeks wasn’t that great of an idea

This is a nightmare, first i crash at the very end of the end boss in dragonstand, now i just crashed at the very end of the legendary vinewood in tarir. I spend so much time investing in an event and at the end the game crashes.
Almost 1 month after the release of this extention is still crashes? I am a mac user but i still paid 45€. This is very sad. One of my friend had the same probleme but with a 64 bit version

I just waisted 1h30 hour of my life in the dragonstand meta event, during which i crashed 4 times. And the last time the boss was at 10% and because the map was full i couldnt get back in.
This outrageous, i don’t pay 45€ euros for a game that crashes more times than paris hilton’s reputation. Now since everything has been nerfed, maguma is the only good source of reward.
So please, make it at least playable for mac users.

Well, the thing is Anet isn’t stuborn. Yes they do mistakes. But the past has shown us that they listen to the community. For example for the elite specs number of hp needed.
I just hope we are in one of the situations where they are going to give us back interesting rewards in 5 person content. Especially fractals, i played a lot of them in the last 3 weeks and i didn’t get any ascended gear or ring. I think that until then i won’t waist my time there. Which is a shame i love spending time with my guildies on ts doing dungeons or fractal, but it’s not rewarding anymore…

I completly agree. I don’t like crafting, and don’t see myself going threw it, it’s not why i bought the game.
So fractal was a way for me to get the next best thing, ascended gear. But no more because now Anet wants us to go to the new content. Which is paradoxical because raid will need at least ascended gear… so… I guess i won’t be able to do raids

Oh i love me some maguma it has it’s masetries, it has it’s exclusif rewards and sets of armor.
But i also enjoy doing in a special time of the day, 1 or 2 donjons and 3 fractals.
I like to do different things. I know that if i spend 3 staight ours in verdant brink i’m gonna get bored.
SO by forcing me to stay in maguma instead of enjoying the entire diversity of the game i question the strategy.

The jungle is attractive enough not to force us to get there…
And i also loveD doing donjons, and fractals with my guild mates. Donjons are now useless (exepte for tokens which i don’t need anymore), and fractals, despite their difficulties don’t seem rewarding

So since the extension donjon’s reward have been nerf (to push player to fractals and eventually raids), but i feel like the fractal rewards have been nerfed too.
I used to get a fair amount of rings and such and since the extension nothing… And i have been doing 3 fractals per day at least…
So does Anet want us to forget about the 5 man content to spend 100% time in maguma?
Are they limiting the game experience to push us in some areas more than others?

I don’t know how to infuse yet.
But i only have one ascended armor with AR so i think i will inly use it during the boss fights

Hi ! Weird thing, when i buy these 5 agony resistence infusion in the trade post, it won’t bound to my ascended rings. But when i buy it to a fractal merchant they bind, why?

each time i go in to a different area of the same map with my HERALD (without using a wp or a gate), the facets i am using deactivate.
Which is pretty bathering during exploration, cuz each time i go thru a different area of caledon forrest for example i have to reactivate the facet that gices swiftness.

Every time i try to open the green reward chest from the second zone the game crashes

Unlocking your elite spec is a training line in your training panel that costs hero points. You do need to have trained all the existing training lines before you’re allowed to put hero points into your elite spec.

If you’ve got all the hero points in the existing game you’ll have enough to train about half the elite specialization training line on launch day. The rest you’ll need to earn in the jungle or via the new system Tyler outlined yesterday from WvW. The number of points to fully train your elite spec is higher than other training lines – but hero challenges in the jungle are worth 10 points each, so it’s not actually as big as it appears.

So how does it work? Are the utility skill automatically unlocked when you have the elite specs?

Since the last update i am constantly being disconected from the game. This happens while in PVP, PVE, dugeons. The game experience has become a nightmare. My internet connexion is fine (11 MB).
What’s up with that?
