I don’t believe that i am going to right this, especially ME being the guy who has complained A LOOOOOT on the forum during the 2 first months.

Well for starters all you complaints WERE valid at a point.They are not anymore.
See a few weeks ago, the number of ways to gain gold in the games were really reduced (basically just doing over and over the meta events in maguma. Anet has noticed that and took care of it.
So if before expension, people gained gold in dungeons and avoided fractals (3H of fractals for like 2 gold), now dungeons are for leveling and fractals are a (really really) quick and yet fun way of earning gold.

The 17 characters and the elite
I understand that you spend a lot of time levling up your characters. And you are angry about the time waist that is creating an elite (which could have been less boring than a repetitive 250 hp grind. I mean they could have worked on some lore for those new classes) BUT:
You have 17 characters and yet there are only 9 classes. So instead of working twice on an elite for each class, do it just one per class. Why on earth would you go thu all this trouble to have 2 dragonhunter, 2 reaper…
Than, When it comes to gaining those 250 HP, it’s long the first time, and maybe the second time. But when you have the maguma masteries it would only take you 1h30.
What i did was put on a little netflix on the ipad and mindlessly grind for 1H30.

I strongly advise you not to by gems for gold.

I am actually restarting in WvW. So i haven’t had time to notice the aspects of it that made everyone complain. Nevertheless. Anet has made many post concerning the fact that there are going to be many changes (you can learn more about it here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/World-vs-World-Holiday-Sneak-Peek/page/11#post5882673)

Hi ! i have never been a wvw player, but i think i want to try it.
All the warrior wvw build on beta battle are outadeted. Do you guys know a good berzerker (the elite spec) build?

May i say that gaining a stabilizing matrice from anything else than a dayli chest is not profitable.
You need a gold to buy 1 salvage kit, and you get 2-3 matrice (6 if the ring is infused), or you can get them by paying 25 silver. Using them hardly brings you tht much.
Wich means that if you are paying for stabilizing matrice or key instead of wining them in fractals, you don’t make much

I do not agree with you. First of all these boxes are available when you complete lvl 50 fractals. Which means that you already are a high lvl player. At this point Rewarding you with a fractal weapon seems fair.
Then stabilizating matrice can be bought everywhere, TP, daylis…

Finally are you seriously crying about having awesome rewards?
That is really weird my friend.

I am actually really thankfull towards arena for finally giving us back good rewards in 5 man group content. It took some time, but in the long term we will all forget the 2 first months

If you actually read and comprehend Manasa’s post the thing is, they already have all the fractal skins unlocked (or at least all the ones they wanted anyway), so further fractal skin drops do literally nothing for them, it’s a waste of a reward slot. I’m sorry but Manasa’s 100% right random drops should never be account bound or gods forbid soul-bound, this just leads to players being stuck with items they can do nothing with.

Try running the 64 bit client they put out, that should help with crashes. Alternately, turn down your graphics options while in the zone.

I have a mac, the crashes have been limited when i reduce the number of other players i can see (to low or very low).

No but when i am ejected, it’s not because the clock goes to or something, it’s just the game crashing. And when i logged in, i couldn’t get back to my server (even throught the squad…)

(Lol no i’m not touching tangled depth. The mini map and world map is useless there. I don’t like how it was made.)

Ok so i said a lot of negative things these last 2 months, regarding the grinding, the liquid rewards being nerfed, the dungeons being killed blablabla. Forcing us to go to maguma and raids blablaba.

Well congratulation ! Now we have i finished game !
Sure you might’ve lost a couple of players here and there, but the important thing is now, i can do my fractals, earn money, earn rewards, convert that money to gems have fun with my new skins.
Now i am not forced to do AB over and over again to gain gold.

Sure you killed dungeons. Guess we can’t enjoy these anymore (because you don’t want us to), guess these are for lvling up (if you find people on the lfg), and tokens (if you are lucky enough to find people on the lfg).
But Hell Fractals are back baby !

(Oh and that topic wasn’t sarcastic, i am trully happy. HELL i’meven gonna convert my 25 gold earned during a reasonable amount of time, to get some transmutation charges)

Am i the only one who thinks that having a ratio of 1, is very wrong?
Like it would be ok if it was a F2P, but when you pay 45€ to have half of the cosmetic content, is that considered ok?

Like they introduce the masterie system that allows you to glide and yet 99% of cool gliders are in the gemstore…

Hi! I wanted to now if the recent updates fixed DS.

A few weeks backed, i join is a map, taxi people in, and after 45 min of playing, or when the final boss was at 10%, i got ejected from the server and couldn’t get back.
Is that fixed? Verdant brink and AB are nice and all but i want to do more than half of the new maps (still not touchin TD lol)

Well when i do fractals my camera zooms in. So i mess with the field of view settings (modification 1).
And when i relaunch the game, eveything is back to normal (but i have to reset the settings because the “modification 1” is still applied).

Despite the slider not moving, when i’m in fractals the camera zooms in. So i change my field of view settings to zoom out. But when i restart the game well the bug is gone so im zoomed waaaaaay back.
So i reset the settings. but when i do another fractal the bug happens again….

The options (you tick like horloge or “show the cool down”) stopped reseting, but the sliders (field of view and vertical far) reseted again.

Well you can gain a lot of tome of knoledge which will give you +1 lvl in pvp. You can get more in the maguma reward track if i’m not mistaken.

You can also do dungeons. If you have a lvl 80 character start the dungeon and at the end of the last boss quickly change character (take the one you want to lvl) and you will get 75% of a lvl. (make sur that your characters are on the map where the dungeon is.

Well they increased liquid gold on fractals, but i don’t know if you need a mastery to access it

Well in my opinion the guardian is a tough class to master…
You have a really low HP (and heavy armor).
You have to do a lot of stuff, give aegis, make sure you applied quickness, use the symbols to inrease the dps.
I love the guardian, but it is the class where i press the more buttons on the keyboards XD.

If you want to start, i’d suggest warrior.
You will learn the basics of the game with him.
And when you become a more experienced player you will go meta with the phalanx build and be one of the most usefull tool for your group in a dungeon or fractal or raid.

Thief is cool, but you have to know your stuff because even tho he deals high damage he is really squishy. But you’ll have fun with him.

Oh poor guy… He got awesome rewards…

I’m probably loggin to do a few fractals (now that they are finally fixed) and maybe a few pvp matche. But i’m sure as hell not gonna play as much, it created anger and led me to the dark side XD

It’s the second time in 24 hours it does it.
It’s the field of view that i don’t like to reset every time: to close, to far, to low, to high.

Really hard to play pvp

The last 2 hours it was (in pvp) server crash after server crash. Right now i can’t even loggin! It just loads for minutes before just having the server crash message.

Edit: I made another topic about it by mistake, i don’t know how to delete it…

I think maybe it is because I am newer to this game. But none of this surprises me. The game is F2P. They have to make money somehow. These people don’t work for free.

Guess i didn’t pay 45€ for an the HOT then…
I mean it’s not like 45€ is a really really really big price for an expension.

Are you Anet developpers? Do you do that because you can’t make causual player shut up as developpers so you do it as users?
Is it your job to criticize valid complains made by casual players who just want to have a good time?

1) Dungeon. They nerfed them for a reason. Either they don’t put any gold reward for raid and don’t buff gold reward from fractal, they add gold sink or they nerfed the gold reward from dungeon. They had no other option if they want to keep inflation in check and as a player you don’t want inflation to go crazy, that would be the worst possible outcome for us. That said, they could gave reward back in other form like material, token, rares, etc. In the end, people are kitten for now and occupied by the expansion. I tried dungeon again the other day and with a decent party you go WAY faster through them than we used to. The reward is still very good. People will calm down, finish their expansion and then people will want to get back into dungeon for the reward.

2) Raid are not for you that’s ok. Other people love it. I had so much fun wiping and learning the encounter.

3) The patch for fractal is either gonna be tomorrow or on december 15th. I never though that it could be on december 1st.

Conclusions : Dungeon are still there and they still have good reward. Anet didn’t do a great job on how they implemented the nerf. Fractal is a mess and they kittened it up for sure. But they acknowledged their mistake so let’s wait 1-2 weeks to see the patch and judge then. Raid are perfect for the target audience they are meant for. Some polishing for squad and LFG and the rest is only time as people get better at it. Leave it 1-2 months and we’ll see then what’s the situation with raids.

Average joe don’t grind for 7 different character dude. Average joe will probably have 1-2 character with near map completion and only need 1-2 hero challenge as they explore the new maps to unlock their elite.

2/ Lol raids aren’t for me? It’s one of the new content of this 45€ expension and it’s not for me? It’s not smart to put something that 100% of player paid for, but only 5-10% can succeed in…
The casual players must feel left out

1/ no… You can still win a lot of gold doing the meta events, and they are going to add liquid gold to fractals. Which means that instead of cossing to gain gold in dungeons, we are forced to go to fractals to gain gold in party content.

Conclusion: stop thinking that the game is made for the elite 5% of the commuity. I don’t have 6 hours a day (1 of them just waiting for a party to be organized) to spend on a portion of a video game. I have a life, studies, homework. And i am not the only one who feels that, so it is possible that angry casual users just leave GW2, go to another game, and as a result gw2 would suffer the same fate as 90% of MMO’s = death
Because, no users => No money => no game.
For my part i’ve seen a lot of friends leaving the game since the expension and almost left it many times.

Well it’s been a while since now the expension was released, so let’s take a look at group content so far. I am going to divide this in 3 pargraphes: dungeons, raids, fractals

Dungeons:
Dead. It seems like, instead of allowing the players to have a certain liberty to do whatever they want in a Huge world full of content. Anet decided to force us to go to raids go to maguma, go to fractals, and stop Going to dungeons.
So they completely killed this content by Nerfing the rewards.
I loved dungeons, i could just loggin, pug, or go in with my guildies on TS and have a nice rewarding time.
But now no! Either fractals or raids.
So instead of playing in the entire central tyria (ascalon, the shiverpeaks, the forest of Caledon…) during dungeon runs (i sure miss them…) now you only need 2 wp, the one near fractals, and the one near the raids. The rest of central tyria is just for show

Raids:
I played raids many time. Each time i had to wait between 45 min and 1h30 for my party to be full and organized. Indeed, with raids, no LFG. Instead of giving us the option of going in a pug group or as an organized party, they force us to play as they decided: in an organized group.
So, it’s actually fun, i mean, i have waisted amounts of gold on utility and foods, and hours, trying and retrying (one time the vale guardian had 3% left…). And after all this time spent, didn’t succeed. I am not a noob nor am i an elite player.
Guild wars 2 is what i do after a long day of work. And i am certainly not gonna go back to raids, wait 1 hour (not playing the game)to organize a group, play over and over again, begging the gods for one of us not to F up. And after 4 hours give up…
HAHAHA AWESOME FUN LOVE THAT…

Fractals:
Played a lot of fractals the first weeks. only earned one ascended ring…
They have been saying that they are going to make changes on that, but after the patch of december 1st, i stopped holding my breath.

Conclusion:
Clap Clap Clap, good job Anet.
The expension has brought 2 changes on the way you do things:
-> Now we are forced to do stuff, otherwise no rewards
-> This game isn’t made for casual players anymore (i had to grind Hero points for 2 and a half week, to have my 7 elites… I don’t think that the average joe, who logs in just to chill out at the end of the day, will go thru all these hours of grind, and waiting).

This is really frustrating, HOT was on paper amazing, with awesome ideas. But the execution was so poorely made, that i can only wonder what could’ve been.

Does the Large Mist Defensive Potion protect also against agony?

Hi ! In the raids, when i use my dragon hunter when i use [Spear of Justice]i don’t see the spell or the chains.
Is it just me?

I do agree that more communication would be welcomed.

That’s a flawed assessment those who are most unhappy are only vocal when they lack power. However this is a game and not reality and in this sort of environment those who are the most unhappy are in fact silent. Simply put people who complain either complain because they enjoy it or they complain to improve because they see the tide. People complaining for 3 years for mounts, templates, and hardcore content can be ignored they are not the majority and they will never leave.

Those who remain silent leave they log out or simply play less and thus even though they didn’t say a word in a sense there voices are the loudest. This is a product in a capitalistic society and we are consumers it’s not our place to be patient or adapt the burden is on the producer because we all have the power to simply quit and find a product that suits our needs.

Anet isn’t communicating and the voice of those whom have never spoken a single word can be heard in all aspects of the game currently.

The fact that i am kittened off is that i really care for this game. When i see the beauty that is maguma (except tangled depth), i can only be frustrated by what could have been if basic decisions were made differently.
Dungeons for exemple. Just because dungeons are rewarding doesn’t mean that i won’t play the huge scale meta event of maguma in which i have the chance to play with hundreds of player like me! But someone high on the hiarchy decided to nerf dungeons to force us to go to maguma.

There are a lot of games that i left because of the bad decisions that have been made. Star wars battlefront? I left that joke at the end of the first week. The only good thing about SWB was the graphics.
But Gw2, has so much more content wise , hours of good times with the guildies, work done by the devs, that killing good parts of the game, the rewards that make you feel good about the time you spent, only frustrates me.

I have said a lot of negative stuff about the pve part of HOT, but my god, having tried stronghold very recently: how awesome is it !
It’s like a guild wars version of heroes of the storm. You even have a small story, the piates want the village and the villager try to defend it.

I have to say Anet… good job.

My computer is a standart macbook pro retina 13 inch 2014 model.
I have lowered shaders to low and character model limit to medium (and low at the bosses, since the crash usually happen at the end).
By doing that i only crashed once yesterday on AB, but still can’t play on DS

What i am complaining about is a lack of them speaking to us. Informing us.
Giving us milk and telling us it’s going to be ok while singing to us a lulabby.
I am on mac, there is no 64 bit for us, and yet i paid for the game (so are the people crashing on 64). The crashes have lowered down a lot. But not in ds which is frustrating as hell after taxiing people for 15 min, and playing for 45 min, just to have your game crash and not being able to come back to your server who is now ful

I am by definition part of the community. And i have the right to express what i feel about the game, my anger, and frankly what i have been reading a lot these past few weeks.

I know you already cashed our money, that you alreadu sold what you wanted us to buy. But could you at least acknoledge us? I mean the community is complaining a lot on the forums.
Is there a chance that you make a post telling us what the hell are you doing: concerning our complaints, the econoy, the DS crashes?

Here’s the scrapper rune:
1) +25 power
2) +35 toughness
3) +50 power
4) +65 toughness
5) +100 power
6) 7% damage reduction against foes in 600 range

I don’t understand the 6. Do i recieve less damage? do i deal less damage?
Does the oponent deal less damage?

So i lowered all my graphics settings, went on DS. Spent 15 min taxing peopl. played a lot and after 40 min, the game crashes. I try to get back in but the map is full.

In VB and AB i’ve been getting less crashes. But DS is still unplayable.
I still payed for it and i can’t play it…..

Uh no… The new materials get cheaper and cheaper on the trade post, because each week that passes their rarity lowers.

And the fractal patch will only increase the drops, not the liquide gold from what i understood

So before the release of HOT, i’ve read a post saying that they were gonna change the economy. The value of gold would raise, so they nerfed the liquide rewards on dungeons (wich was the main source of gold for PVE players). That being done, the prices would decrease.

A month after the expension, did it work? HEEELL NO
Gold is harder to get, now instead of a fifteen minute dungeon you have to do meta events but the price haven’t moved.
You still need 300 po to get a tag, you still need a huuuuuuge pack of gold for guild halls.
Which mean that if you want to survive in this economy (lol) you need to buy gems with real money.

Yes, in order to play the game (as it is intended), you need to use your credit card.
(That is why a lot of people are going back to wow by the way).

THis is another exemple of an Anet Idea followed by poor execution.
Lowering the economy isn’t bad per se, but with an execution that bad, you are just ruining the game
