In a PvE zone of your actual character level (not down-leveled I mean), try killing 2-5 aggressive (red) enemies. Then try 2-5 neutral (yellow) enemies and see if it triggers it to be functional again.

Thanks a lot, this fixed the issue. I just went to Cursed Shore, killed 1 Risen Putrifier with my Warhorn equipped and it “unlocked” the #5 skill again.

They should have left it like it was before when you just had to cast it within range of the target and it hits even if they run out of range after.

I’m not sure if this issue may be related to a damaged game file or not, but you may consider giving this a try to at least try to rule it out.

Check the game for errors and repair it

• Close your game completely.
• Next, make a copy of your Gw2 game shortcut and rename it “GW2 Repair” or to something that you will recognize it for being only for running a repair on your GW2 installation.
• Now, right-click this “Gw2 Repair” shortcut and click on “Properties”.
• On the “Shortcut” tab look in the “Target:” field, you should see:
  “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” or wherever you have Guild Wars 2 installed.
• After the closing quotation marks in this line put a space and then add -repair
  It will look like this but with your GW2 install location:
  “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” -repair
• Hit OK after making this change.
• Run this repair shortcut. Your game will run through a repair cycle and fix any damaged files it finds.
• After it runs through, start the game using the normal GW2 game shortcut (not the repair shortcut) and see if you Warhorn #5 can activate normally in PvE.

I tried repairing GW2 the other night but it didn’t fix the issue.

I got the same issue with Necro Warhorn #5. It’s been like this for me for almost two months. I posted a thread about it yesterday but doesn’t seem like many have the same issue as us. Try it out in sPVP, mine works there but not in PVE/WvW.

Yeah, it’s definitely unlocked. I was using it a few months ago before I tried it again. I’m pretty sure this is a rare issue since my friends necros can use it fine.

The warhorn #5 doesn’t work on my necro in PVE/WvW. It doesn’t even highlight the ability like when you hover over other abilities. Warhorn #4 works fine. It started to happen around maybe the second to last big patch. It does work fine in sPVP though.

I have tried:
1). Changing to several different keybinds
2). Clicking it
3). 3 different warhorn (I was using Ghastly Warhorn with Ghost Slaying sigil)
4). Using no mainhand and also different mainhand weapons
5). Using no traits and also tried using the Warhorn cooldown trait
