Yah, tho consider that if you focus too much on Healing Power your damage output will suck and may drag fights for a long time, unnecessarily, making people to commit mistakes. However, it does depend and it’s on a case by case scenario. Some heals are often good if your team is full of squishy people tho xD

I believe that Shield 5 and Focus 5 should be changed just because it just kittening makes sense xD otherwise it just looks stupid

I have no experience in tanky ranger whatsoever since I’m usually Power/Crit with Rangers in every game.

I am pretty sure most use 20 and sometimes 30 points on he Beastmastery (For the Regeneration part, so that plus the Signet that regenerates health, makes your pet very durable and can use something like Brown Bear (For Condition Removal) and whatever else mentioned above like a Drake or something.

I normally run full beserker gear, traited 0/5/30/30/5. I have more than enough to keep me up.

Exactly what I run and survivability is fine. As a quick example, I can just stay in front of the boss of CoF and never die, or even get below 50% HP.

It’s pretty fun and can hit for some 6-7k with might stacking in some hits while being durable.

Only thing I use for Healing is a Cleric Staff

I have also been wondering this for a while cuz my Healing Power, even though mediocre, it’s saved my kitten when in a tough situation, I roll back and POP Empower :P

(And it heals quite well even though ALL of my Gear is Berserker)

I usually roll the 0/15/30/30/5 that some of the AH builds use, except I don’t use AH anymore lol.

With those specs and with my Critical Damage, I can still hit Crits of Over 6-7k and I’m happy with it while being very durable

True. Scepter is horrible, except for his range.

Slow AA, No Symbols, no Combo Fields/Finishers.

Also the Shield5 and Focus5 should be reversed since it would make SO MUCH SENSE, I don’t know what ANet was thinking when they put those abilities like that.

A Shield doing an Aura and a Focus Blocking _ how does a little piece of iron/whatever, blocks better than a huge shield? xD

It can be kinda expensive to combine it tho. (In case u dont like it so u have to get rid of one or get the full armor for both types later)

What I do and It’s been working really well is going Full Berserker but for Healing I use a Healing Staff. It’s not a lot of healing but dodging (You and your team) should keep you alive enough.

If you need to heal, Altruistic healing + Empower should be enough.

So yah I have tried Torch sometimes for some extra DPS but I gave up and just stick with Sword and Shield haha

I go Berserker Armor with Runes of Divinity and Valkyrie Accessories with Sapphire and Beryl Jewels.

I use Sword/Torch and Greatsword (Or change to Scepter/Shield//Focus when needed)

Sword and Torch Have Sigil of Bloodlust and Perception Accordingly and Greatsword has Sigil of Rage.

Skills look something like this: Signet of Resolve, Signet of Judgment, Stand your Ground, Save Yourselves!, Tome of Wrath.

And my traits are something like this:

00 – NA
30 – II – VII – XI
00 – NA
30 – II – IX – XI
10 – II

It has been working great in survivability (Except against the usual stupid condition damage lol) and the damage is great, also. When having another guardian giving quickness with Tome of Wrath, attacking with the Sword is AWESOME!

Of course it has many flaws like mobility due to Sword3 rooting u on the ground. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (Specially for PVP and WVW)

I’d say it’s worth it because even if you are playing support, for dungeons and WvW mostly (And maybe PvP but I haven’t played it), if you deal no damage, then you are like a bag of meat being punched around :P

I think damage is very important for those 2 roles of wvw and dungeons.

I think people who are more experience would have a little more to say about PvP or add something to those as I am fairly new and don’t play that much

I think is just fine.

Sword 1: Good the way it is, it does AoE sometimes so I can’t complain. Anyway, if u wanna AoE just switch weapons. This is a 1v1 weapon.

Sword2: I think it’s awesome. The damage is just a bit toooo crappy haha but I think I like it anyway since the AA is good enough and procs VoJ every combo.

Sword3: I agree it does suck and the damage is lacking by a lot. I do wish it was either penetrating or that it allowed you to move (Prefer the latter) as the absorbing projectiles is awesome and if it let you move, you could laugh at rangers shooting stuff at you while you walk towards them

But yeah, as already mentioned, this Weapon is not for killing big mobs, actually it is surprising that it actually has a little AoE on the AA. If u wanna AoE with a 1H use a Mace xD and if u wanna do AoE in General and still use Sword, just swap to GS or Hammer and problem solved.

“Councillor Huron” sounds kinda fun and serious at the same time. Although I can’t imagine a ranger as a Councillor :P

Mine is “Vyktoria Valkyrie” A Guardian Jack of all trades with Valkyrie Armor and changing between Support and Damage depending on team composition or my role on WvW.

Usually stick with Greatsword and Staff tho
