Condi necro is stronger than Cele signets necro. They both run the same overall utilites, but since the Condi necro’s damage is more “focused” and the Cele necro’s power-based damage gets thoroughly reduced by the weakness stacking, proper transfers mean the Condi necro wins just about every time. Condi necros also lack the major boon production that Cele Signets necros feed off of to create a large portion of their pressure. Granted this is coming from my play, but I believe my skill with the class to be very respectable, my opponent’s skill to be respectable in my MMR (I play with Abjured members here and there), and he played a full extra transfer in Dagger offhand while I played Warhorn.

I played every single gear/spec combination that I could fit into 30 hours of in-game time with the Reaper, and I found that the scaling “precision” built into the Reaper made stat sets like Knight’s and especially Soldier’s have the best Effective Power to Effective Health. I did play with Marauder and Berserker stat sets as well, and I found that the burst was incredible if you could land skills appropriately (One of my favorite moments was chaining a 5k GD into an 8k GD, into a 7k GD while fighting a 2v2 on point), but the speed of greatsword and the lack of a strong ranged option while running greatsword made it extremely easy to be kited and bursted. With the speed changes to greatsword and GD, I think Berserker/Marauder will become much more viable in combination, and I believe greatsword might also be fast enough as a standalone weapon to have staff as a suitable second weapon set to help shore up the lack of ranged damage, although they may still be too slow in tandem to really be able to combat thieves and mesmers.

Bump, I can agree with and understand the position. Seems reasonable to increase the limit by at least five fold.

This is absolutely incredible to see. It’s fantastic to see that Anet is actively taking in community feedback for these BWEs like they said they would. Keep up the splendid work Robert!

Have some respect for the creative design process, and the fact that not everything Gee says to his bosses actually gets accepted or construed appropriately/as planned.

You can also use instruments such as the Flute, although this doesn’t work in PvP

Dragonhunter loses its old virtues and ele kinda temporarily trades one of its attunements for a new skill. So far only mesmer gains something new for free and there are already discussions over in our forums.
Except Dragonhunter doesn’t technically lose its old virtues; its new virtues have literally all of the same effects, just with bonus upgrades and functionality. F1 still blinds and burns, but now it burns more. F2 still heals and cleanses condis, but now it also blinks, deals damage, and immobilizes. F3 is still a stunbreak with stab and aegis, but now it also creates a shield.

I really appreciate wanting to have a more positive discussion (because, yeah, this forum) but feel the need to point out that a thread that focuses only on positives is no more healthy than one that has only negatives.
This isn’t necessarily true; With negative topic matter comes a negative attitude. By having a thread where we can all just talk about why we enjoy our class for what it does, we can cut out a lot of the negative tension and discussion that follows a negatively-charged thread topic.

Personally, I love that feeling of sizzling peoples’ boons into something more useful :3 I also love how the Necro kit can be rather malleable and can be used flexibly as needed; As an example, Doom makes for a great surprise interrupt for important enemy cooldowns, but you can also use it to leverage your own cooldowns, or for burst damage as a Terrormancer.

Hey guys, with all of the angry/discontent discussion going around about class balance and uselessness, I figured it would be a nice fix to have a fun chat in the meantime, so tell me: What do you love about the Necromancer as a class? As a being? Does anything in particular pull you into to wanting to be one of the spell-slinging masters of dark arts?
In light of discussion, please try as hard as possible to refrain from pulling balance necessities into this thread; just happy talk about why we all play this class of ours.

The issue as I see it currently is that my class continues to receive nerfs to content that hasn’t even been released yet, while other classes that are actually presently and visibly unbalanced are running amok unscathed.
I mean, did you even read today’s patch notes? There wasn’t a single keynote “Mesmer” addressed anywhere in it!
Not only is it terrible optimization of efforts on ANet’s behalf, but how is it even remotely sensible, or even fair, to balance Necro traits such as Chilling Darkness and Dhuumfire around the Reaper specialization, which is an undisclosed amount of time away from even being playable, and yet classes like Mesmer and Warrior are allowed to play in Live with busted traits such as Chaotic Interruption and Prismatic Understanding, and busted skills like Rampage?
Sure, I’m probably a touch salty, but I would love to understand the thought process.

Krait with appropriate foods/oils and traits can get upwards of 180-200% duration.
The 100% cap still exists, so with Krait + Barbed Precision + pizza you’re already exceeding the maximum.
Lingering Curse adds 100% condition duration to your baseline, so you can effectively stack an upwards of 200% duration on your bleeds, cripples, and poisons via scepter skills.

Krait with appropriate foods/oils and traits can get upwards of 180-200% duration.
Perplexity (while super aids and cheese) has powerful synergy with Terror and acts as extra condition pressure for your total burst.
2 Krait/2 Mad King/2 Lyssa combo well for overall condi duration increase, plus other minimal bonuses.
Undead have powerful synergy with the higher base stats, the already recommended Rabid armor set, and the Corruptor’s Fervor trait.
Nightmare add desirable stats and have obvious high synergy with Terror (debatably the best Rune-to-Build synergy in the game imo) allowing you to gain total DPS and CC increases.
A number of things are possible, and a number of choices come down to personal preference.
~Bhawb.7409
It does in fact, but it’s actually rather powerful in some regards as it keeps you relatively unafflicted by the conditions, while also supplying you with near infinite Life Force in appropriate instances, and when it’s all said and done, you just transfer them away. Pretty cool/cute interaction in my opinion.
~Bhawb.7409
That would probably be it. Is there any way of getting upgraded to the tradeable version? If not, thanks for your responses!
~Bhawb.7409
bump, I would really appreciate any help from anyone who could help me sort out the issue, or direct me toward someone capable of doing so. I specifically got the skin with the hopes of selling it, and I can’t even so much as mail it.
~Bhawb.7409
I keep it in my bank, and it doesn’t give me any options for trade in my bank or in my inventory.
~Bhawb.7409
Title says it. Can’t mail the skin, put it on the TP, or anything. Any way I can have this fixed?
