just wondering, if a thief gets blind can they stealth? or does blind stop the stealth from working

D/P you want to concenrate on traits that give you alot of initivite and give you initivite while in stealth.

with Dagger pistol you drop blinding power and hit heartseeker right away. when using heartseeker through the powder you will stelath.

when you heartseeker to someone you will do damage but stay in stealth then heartseeker over the powder again to get more stealth

try it out in LA..

5 > 2 > 2> 2> 5 > 2 > 2 > 2
just drop the power heartseeker out, heartseeker back over and again you’ll stay in stealth…

i watched a thief doing this the other day.. i can see the blinding powder but not him so all i coulod see is this red circle popping up in front of me then the circle will be further

i came across one watching a camp just spamming it into a wall to stay stealth

you’re a thief. you are not meant to stand in there with a massive Health pool slapping the player over the face and walk out alive.

the play style should be get in > slap the face a couple times > get out > wait for opportunity > get in > slap around again.

or you can go zerker and get in > 1 shot

or condition (i love this but slow) you have around 23k hp and conditions on pistols, lots of stealth and kiting

i lasted the fight against guardian, mesmer and another thief as condition.. took about 8 mins but i survived

I run a lvl 80 thief, and i still change my gear sometimes at the moment i run:

Weapons: Berserkers Daggers, Beserker ShortBow. i run a sigl of bloodlust on dagger cant remember whats on the other

Armor: 4 pieces of Valkyrie, 2 pieces of Berserker, ruby orbs on all

Trinkets, All Berserker

Traits: 0/30/30/10/0
the 10 is for 50% reduced fall damage, gives me an extra sttealth in WvW and saves me a lot

i sit around 14.7l – 15.2K hp with this and i do about 7K BS.. i fi can land it, i usually miss :P

i have also run full condition build.. love this but takes forever to kill someone

full zerker.. not a fan, not enough survival

I’m sorry but i hardly see any difference. Sure this patch may have nerfed PVE thiefs but WvW no difference. it’s 1 extra second reveal. you will NOT get a full rotation off in WvW every time even soloing camps.

i run D/D SB and i can still solo camps with no probe, Daggerstorm, poison, cluster bombs.

i do not agree that a 1 second extra reveal means we have to completely change ou r build and weapon set

Hi guys, i have an 80 elementalist which i have not played in a long time

My elementalist i would love to get back into for WvW, i saw some videos of a S/D build and enjoyed it.. surly i don’t have to be D/D as everyone seems to be that now

So basically, the reason i dont play my ele is i went afk in LA for about 5 mins ( nature called) and one of my housemates thought it be funny to salvage all my gear and weapons and spend my gold on absolutely nothing, so as a result i have an Elementalist with no armor, no weapons, no money and sitting in Lions arch doing nothing. anyways i’ve managed to get about 46silver and looking at getting some gear from TP, of course i can only afford Masterwork..yay

So i am wondering if anyone knows of any viable WvW S/D builds now as i know there’s been changes in patches.

What armor/weapon stats/jewelery/traits would you reccommend for wvw.. i basically want to be able to Defend camps and solo flip camps as i usually run alone or with 2 – 3 people

Any help would be great thanks

i’m guessing masterwork gear will do until i can get gold and slowly upgrade piece by piece to exotic

it doesn’t matter what they do, you will all still have a cry and say how unplayable the class is.

Deal with it, adapt and move on or find something else to do. it’s not like you’re paying a subscription.

I have one but she insist on pronouncing it with an x in front. Maybe its just her accent

The problem: +1sec debuff

The solution: extra auto attack that takes 3-4s to cast and hits like a skill that uses inititive and removes a boon and adds poison damage.

Sounds fair. It should also knockdown stealth you and add confusion to the enemy

1) I enjoy it and use thief for everything a lot of people are crying cos last patch we went from 3sec to 4sec rebealed debuff. Ppl crying its “unplayable”.. I still play mine so not sure what the sook is about

2) I started enjoying around lvl 15 but I was playing it like a wow rogue and then realized its not

3) I run dd and sb. I switch a lot depending on fight and situation

4) zerker is always good. I lvled as zerker and sword pistol and loved it. Now I run zerker trinkets and weaopms. My armour is power vitality crit with rune of wurm intil I can afford divinity runes

5) I love my thief she is sexy and that’s all that counts

Sometimes i may spend hours in WvW and i have no choice but to go to the bathroom behind a bush.
This is very personal and i don’t like to be seen.

Now because of Anet i an now revealed for an extra second!!

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!

This is a privacy breach, did AnET not think of this when they made this change?

This has affected me in the past, i used to have dirty old guys sneak up to watch and i would whip them with my pistol but now it’s like a tickle!

i would throw caltrops down to stop people getting too close but now they don’t last as long

On a more serious note,

4s reveal has not affected me at all i find i dont get time to pull out a full rotation at all when in WvW, i think i get lag and they’re not as close as i think they are as i will backstab and they will dodge or stun me or it will constantly say miss miss miss

i am glad they didn’t do the reveal without attacking, this makes me happy

I updated and patched last night, no issues at all
tonight i have come home and i am getting this error.

so far i have tried:

disabled router firewall
disabled windows Firewall
disabled and deleted all Security Software
winsock reset
rebooting computer
running as administrator
shortcut with -repair added
shortcut with /clientport 80 added
msconfig, disabled all services
task manager, closed any unneeded programs
letting it try to reconnect many times

Nothing seems to be working, im wondering if it’s region specific, is it only Aussies getting this issue or all over the world?
