Dodge Roll BUGS

I have this happen all the time. It seems it’s way more common on my necro than my engineer, but that’s probably just me being silly. Either way it sucks. Actually, it sucks almost as much as trying to pick up an object right after a dodge (or while running).

For example, dodging towards a crystal in Maw fight, hitting the key to pick it up, will often make your toon start autorunning, unable to further dodge, and invariably get downed.

It’s been a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the jumping puzzle, and I got my first minis. I didn’t care much for cosmetics/minis when I started playing, but having that cute little plush mini chasing me around is quite amazing.

And yeah, Toypocalipse was a blast! By far my favorite thing this Wintersday.

Here’s to my engineer. He was my main. He made my first legendary, a rifle which makes no sense to use anymore. He can still bunker in sPvP, but he can’t even carry his weight in dungeons.

I feel like engineer is one of the least played classes. It’s not a straightforward class by any means. It lacks the facerolling abilities of other classes and not easy to master. With this last patch, engineers lost their biggest damage dealer, which is still WAY subpar compared to other classes.

Grenades were the one effective way engineers could deal ranged damage. Pistol conditions were nerfed way back. Flamethrower, Repair Kit, and Bomb Kit are not quite long range.

Before I used to run rifle & grenade kit and I still couldn’t keep up with my friend’s DPS in fractals or in WvW. Now I have to run dual pistols (+10 power/kill & +5% dmg) for signets and I do significantly less damage than before.

So basically if you want to run a kit we’re forced into dual weilding since using a rifle would just be stupid, you lose out on a sigil. Regardless we do way less damage. All in all, it makes the class so much less appealing.

I just finished after about 1 hour of trying. Speed Booster, 5 Flawless Snowflakes, Karma, 3 large gift boxes

Running it multiple times just gives more gift boxes, no other loot : (

Switching Mining Picks mid-gather

Hi, I found something weird today. I toyed with it a bit to figure out how it is broken.

I was in Cursed Shore. I had a Ori Mining Pick ankittenhril Wood Axe equipped. I started mining an Ori node, and while the mining action was channelling, after the first ore dropped, I switched my Mithril Wood Axe to an Ori Wood Axe (by double clicking in the character “H” panel). The mining action continued, it gave me the remaining 2 ore, but instead of consuming the Ori Mining Pick, it consumed the Ori Wood Axe.

I was able to reproduce this every time, with both ore and wood nodes. Switching a tool for a different type of resource continues the action and uses up the tool switched.

It doesn’t seem exploitable. For example, you start mining an Ori Ore node with the correct Pick. You then switch out your Axe to a Copper Axe, the mining action eats up charges on the Copper Axe and gives you Ruined Ore Chunks.

TL;DR: Switching resource tools mid-gather eats up charges from the wrong tool. Quality must be the same or better, or else you get junk mats.

It’s slightly disheartening, although comical, to read about all the people whinning about everything.

I like donating. It’s a tax write-off, and I really kitten need it, I’ve made a lot of gold thus far. Donating also makes me feel good inside since I’m helping others.

Since I plan to continue donating, how long will Lionguard Lyns be around?

When the server resets, all Dynamic Events reset. You basically logged off in the middle of an undead camp. Sure, you’re used to Shelter’s Gate always being owned by the Pact because there’s 50+ bots consistently guarding it. But you should have probably thought that waiting in a camp that’s always under attack may not be a good idea when the server resets. Or you can, you know, get angry and yell and blame Arena Net…

For the 2 minutes before the server resets there are constant announcements that the server is restarting/patching/etc.

Yay, everyone’s favorite topic!

My problem is that I play for 1-2 hours at a time. I’m also interested in increasing my karma and gold. Since Cursed Shore is BY FAR the best place to farm karma and gold that’s where I play. I assume most people do the same.

With loot, after about 20 minutes, the drop is dramatic. A much smaller percent of corpses are lootable after the 20-30 minutes when DR kicks in. With karma, it’s about the same. After 12-15 dynamic events in about 30 minutes I hit DR. At first it’s alright, karma from events drops about 15% per extra event completed.

What really bothers me though is the bots. These “anti-botting” diminishing returns don’t in the least discourage the bots. They’re on, and they farm 24/7. So what if for 30 minutes out of every hour they get less loot? It’s a bot. It’s may even be a stolen account. The botters doesn’t care about DR. It’s just free loot. It still destroys the economy. Sure botters get less loot, but so does everyone else.

ArenaNet seems to be very vocal about the importance of the economy. It doesn’t seem like they’re doing enough to curb the bots. Sure, they’ll always be bots. But when the same group of 12 rangers run around for 2 weeks now on Fort Aspenwood, it’s just disheartening. Everyone’s reporting them, everyone’s vocal about it. They’re still there.

I’m having the same issue. It seems to happen more often as of about 3-4 days ago.

The interval is much longer for me, it will happen every 30+ minutes. I’ve even unbound my ‘drop kit/switch weapon’ key, and it’s still happening.

Directional Dodge Intermittently Not Working.

Hi,

I have my dodge key bound to both the default ‘v’ as well as pressing my mouse wheel (Mouse 3).

Outside of combat, for example, I hold ‘w’ and press dodge, I dodge by rolling forward; if I hold ‘s’ and dodge I roll backward, etc.

In combat, this often does not work. Most of the time I will dodge in the correct direction. But sometimes, regardless of which directional key I’m pressing, I will roll away from the enemy. It acts as though I’m not pressing any directional key.

For example, if there are 2 players ahead of me. I’m running to the right, and I press my dodge key. Most of the time I will dodge by rolling right, like it’s supposed to, but every now and then I will dodge backwards, as though I’m not holding the ‘d’ key.

Mystic Salvage Kit Is Soulbound

Hi,

I created a Mystic Salvage Kit on a character. The tooltip for the kit states Account Bound. I put it in my Vault (Bank), but I cannot retrieve it on any other character. If I try to drag it into my inventory the location turns red, as it does with Souldbound items from another character.

Dark Reverie Jumping Puzzle

I think this may be a bit ridiculous. I’ve done most of the jumping puzzles, but I can’t seem to get this one. Neither can the people I’m with.

There’s a mushroom towards the end on which we can’t seem to jump. Using swiftness, jumping to the low side, nothing. Are we bad jumpers or did we miss a path?

For reference, in this video the jump at 2:16 seems to have been changed and the mushroom is much higher.

Removed Mystic Forge Recipes

In the September 25th update this caught my eye:

  • Removed Mystic Forge recipes that were being used to reduce surplus supplies.

    What recipes were removed. Is this referring to the recipes that upgraded crafting mats, such as 250 elder wood logs into 10-50 ancient wood logs? If so this sounds like a suck, because I have stacks and stacks of some of the T5 crafting stuff, and not enough of the T6.

Invisible Enemies in Large Fights

When in a large fight, typically 50+ total, enemies will not render. I can still target them, and hit them.

But not being able to see them leads to lots of deaths by pushing too far into their group since I can’t tell how many there are.

Is this just me? My computer’s quite performant, but my upload isn’t top notch which could be the problem I guess.
