Guild Wars 2

I wonder if this is related: Constant crashes in Bloodtide Coast. And it’s not just me. As soon as I crash and come back into the game, I find out one or two of my guildmates on the same map have also crashed. This happened about 8 times last night, and it was always the same people getting disconnected. And all we were doing was sitting around chatting.

I seem to be recently getting the same problem, though not QUITE exactly as reported. I have moments where I push the ‘W’ key and nothing happens. I then have to sort of mash the directional keys until my character begins to move again.

It’s not TOO much of a pressing issue (for me at least, having to /dance to move again is pretty game breaking if you ask me!) but it’s annoying when the enemy begins an AOE attack and I can’t dodge roll out of the way. :\

The entire fact they were originally drafted for a playable race makes them the BEST candidate. I will happily delete my warrior, ele, and ranger characters in order to make three tengu (one for each path!).

I thought I was just overreacting to things! Same here. I mean, this happens to me regardless of what game I play, but this game seems to be the worst offender. Doing jumping puzzles with my Charr makes me dizzy and queezy.

I don’t know how this would be remedied, but I thought I’d add in my 2 copper anyway.

With the Megaserver system the your home server only affects which guilds you can join and the WvW standing/bonuses. If you are primarily a WvW player on a ghost server it might be worth transferring, but otherwise it won’t make much of a difference.

Actually, you can technically join any guild you want, with the exception of only being able to join 5. Before I transferred to TC, I was on Eredon Terrace in a TC guild (for RP purposes). You can, if you really wanted, join 5 different guilds on 5 different servers.

Now, being sorted into megaservers is effected in part by which guilds you are in. For my example on Eredon Terrace, I had a slightly higher chance of being grouped with people from Tarnished Coast since I was in a guild that originated on Tarnished Coast. That often did not happen because I wasn’t a Tarnished Coast native until recently though. :p

In regards to being in a guild from a different server, however, you won’t be able to access the guild bank from the guild’s home server. Any rep you earn for the guild is put into your own “chapter.” I hear word about them possibly merging all of that though, so even on different servers we may eventually be able to share a guild’s bank! No ETA on that. It’s been a consideration though.

Everything else said is true though. WvW is really the only thing affected. The world is much more comfortably populated when doing normal PvE. If you want to play with friends on a different server, just party up, get on the same map, and right click their portrait and port to their shard.

No really though, I would delete two of my characters just for Tengu. I would also buy another character slot for sure. Birds. o_o

I kept getting this error. Never got it before. But as I was checking the forums for this very problem, I looked back to the launcher and suddenly it was working and downloading the required files.

Very odd. Again, never had a problem before. It scared me a little bit!

Oh my fem sylvari guardian, she’s always going “I. AM MIGHTY.” and it just. Eugh. It grates on my nerves.

On my male sylvari mesmer, he has that one ability that gives you a different boon periodically, and when I go around to change his dyes (which I do often, I can’t seem to find a mix that looks good!), all I hear for ten minutes is “I’M FURIOUS. I’M FURIOUS. SWIFT AND STEADY. I’M FURIOUS.”

Wanted to add, I got DC’d last night (this morning??) and had the error that it could not connect to log in server. I went to go check the forums to see if others were getting the problem, but the website wouldn’t load either! This persisted for about 10 minutes.

If this is still a thing, please do count me in! Thank you, by the way.

I’m American, and I agree that the American flag next to the English option (in the EU no less!) is…not quite right. I don’t have any suggestion for this. Some ideas from other people seem reasonable.

It just doesn’t sit right with me. :\

If the tengu become a playable race, you can bet I’d slap down at LEAST enough money to buy three extra slots. Maybe more. All for bird.

Heck, I’d pay to unlock the race from the gem shop. Birds are…very important. See username.

As for if / when they would release them? I wouldn’t count on anytime during 2014. Perhaps, like others said, for a hard expansion they would. Didn’t ANet mention something about trying to get the voice actors all back together for more scripted content? Maybe they’re also getting together people for a new race? Wishful thinking I know. I can dream though. ;u;

It says on his twitter that he indeed targeted GW2. Ugh. (about 11 hours ago, WITH Wildstar so yeah it’s connected)

I guess I’m jaded from Warcraft because that game is FULL of RNG and, while frustrating, I never outright hated it. Sure, when you have two people farming for that super rare mount drop off of the Lich King and the first person gets it twice in two weeks, which is annoying. Meanwhile the second person has been farming the horse reigns for 6 months every week since that content release and hasn’t seen one drop. But the thing is, the mount is optional.

Do I want the mount? Yes. Do I need the mount? No. Farming the mount keeps me playing longer, which means more chance for revenue. I think ANet has the same mindset. The longer you play, the more chance you’ll be tempted by something in the gem shop or see something someone else has from the shop and get that spending itch.

Overall, I don’t blame ANet as a company trying to make money in a sub free game. RNG certainly sucks, but after all those weeks farming, when you finally get that drop, you get that tingly feeling of accomplishment.
