Same issue, and always happens with content updates. Today I can’t even start the game. I’ve rebooted my computer 20 times now, and tried, crashes on startup every time. Usually it crashes about 3 times before finally it loads, but today it seems to be pointless.
I’ve run memory tests with memtest86+, no errors.
I’ve added the 3GB switch (since I’m running windows XP Pro on pure Intel).
I’m using the latest video card drivers from nVidia.
I’ve deleted the Local.dat file and run -repair.
I’ve defragged my drive with Defraggler.
I run everything on absolute minimum when it comes to graphics settings in-game.
The game doesn’t crash per se, it just won’t load, and ends up with a flickering screen after the launcher dialog has disappeared. There’s nothing I can do at that point but to reboot the whole computer. Try 20 of these reboots in a row and you’ll start to understand the frustration.
Also spent karma on two intricate silk insignia recipes just now in Lion’s Arch from the Master Leatherworker, and it didn’t register for the daily. Asked others to try, and they got the same result.
Same here, nothing received after the patch. I guess we’re not getting them.
Same issue. How did we get these two messages in the first place if our “mailboxes are full” ? Are they only full after we have opened our mailbox, read the two new messages and closed the mailbox ( at which point they get deleted )?
I’ve experienced the same thing here lately. Started maybe 3 weeks ago, and it’s still the same. I’m not sure if the game will start or not when I press play. Usually I have to reboot the computer and try again, and most of the time it works the second time. I don’t run anything at the same time as the game. The game just started doing this one day, and it’s been like it since.
Having the same issue here, it’s been like that for some time now and seems to have been introduced together with the “culling” update thingie or whatever they called it. That’s when large groups of players are rendered invisible from your screen because there’s just too many to display and would lagg you out.
I’ve started to have BSODs lately too, memory is fine, no harddrive errors either. I’m not sure but since the game’s been running fine up until say a two weeks ago, and I haven’t made any changes to my system or installed any new software or anything, I’m starting to wonder.
