When will the Blade Shard merchant appear?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

Bump. It’s been a month since it was mentioned in the patch notes, but as of yet no merchant has appeared. Any chance of an update on this?
Just adding my +1 since I have the same issue. I’ve seen the TP go completely black and also what Mootly posted in that screenshot, randomly, all day.
It is kind of unfortunate for those who were planning on getting that character slot on sale, seeing there’s no way Mac users can get it, and even worse, the prices for gems will be way up by the time this is fixed, so all in all, for Mac users looking to get that character slot on sale, it will be more expensive.
While you’re looking into it, feel free to fix the currency issue we’ve been reporting (but not gotten any response to). Here’s a link to one of the threads about that:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/mac/Trading-Post-bugged-since-last-update/
I’m in the same boat as the rest of these people.
1. Native client. And if not, please look into the one you have since performance on even the best of Macs out there is atrocious. I have to run on best performance looking at brown and grey people all day, and even then I get sad-panda fps and random slowdowns like I’m running through jelly all of a sudden (slow-normal-slow-normal-slow – I can fraps something for you if you need to see it, just have to go to Frostgorge, or Mists, or WvW). MBP i7 2.2GHz 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 1GB Radeon HD 6750M.
2. All the TP bugs we have, but especially the one making it just not work randomly leaving you with no choice but to quit the game and start it up again (which is pretty annoying if, for example, you’ve been in queue for WvW for an hour only to have to quit and lose your spot). This latest variant today isn’t even solved by quitting so that’s something even worse.
3. Communication. A presence here is highly valued.
That’s it.
I got my rank 29 reward. Sweet sweet treasure.. ahem.

I don’t know about MacBook Pro. but its was low PFS before 3-19-2014 but now get better performance and set on Best Graphics.
Its MacPro (late 2013) black cylinder
3.7GHz quad-core with 10MB of L3 cache
16GB (4×4GB) of 1866MHz DDR3 ECC
256GB PCIe-based flash storage
Dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM each
Oh good lord, that is the one I want. Not envious at all here… I guess you can run GW2 on max graphics settings on that beast?
Funny, I posted a similar screenshot in the same thread you’re referring to 4 hours ago, so yes I am suffering from this bug as well.
+1 Well done
Other than the bugs that’s been a plague to the TP since beta, I just started to get this one two days ago (notice how the silver and copper is listed on the right under “Add to my lowest listing” = above each other). It’s really annoying, and I wonder what made this change happen? Anyone else see this?

I had client crashing a lot of time so I stop the game till they fix the client. On 3-19-14. Hear they fix it I let run the game for about 10 mins , show no crashing with out play . I start play last night for about 3 hours no crash
. I look at my screen so sharp and moving so smooth that surprise me. I check the FPS on solo zone 87 to 127 FPS . (:o never seen that high. Wonder anybody hit that high like my?
Wow, what setup do you have? That just can’t be a MBP right? I get between 17-40 fps in PvE (low population areas) and around 10-20 in WvW and higher populated areas/events with graphics set to “Best Performance”. MBP i7, 2.2GHz, 8GB, Radeon 6750M 1GB.
EDIT: on the CPU issue it might be worth noting that when I ran it in windows mode and checked the Activity monitor, the game was taking up about 180% of the CPU. I never checked this before so have no baseline to compare it to, but that does not seem either right or good!
The “client” normally runs at around 150-250% of the CPU for me. As far as I have been able to figure out from reading threads in this forum, it’s because it’s a cider wrapper and not a native client. Those in the know might want to correct me on this though.
Today’s fix about an hour and a half ago seems to have fixed it. Been logged in, running WvW, big events, etc. since the patch without crashing.
It does seem to have been fixed, I’ve played since the patch without crashing, switching chars, WvW, big events, for over 1h30min and it’s been stable.
Thanks for the speed on this fix guys.
In all fairness, the Mac forums recently have been getting more attention for Anet than I can recall since I started playing. In the past this place was more or less players talking to players with no “red” posts for months. I have probably been the most critical person in this forum regarding the way the client is being handled. It is refreshing to see attention from Anet over the last few months when there have been problems. Let’s hope this trend continues and support for the client continues to improve.
I’m always including a link to this forum in my support tickets or bug reports when it comes to Mac issues, reminding them to take a look here now and then, or to a particular thread here that is related to the issue I’m reporting. I also see to it that a message is posted in the regular Tech Support forum to let them know things are happening in the Mac Tech forum.

I have a MacBook Pro
Processor: 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
Same experience as Fabby above. Best Performance, everything on low, lowest or none.
File a support ticket, you’re not going to see any response in here. (click Support in the top menu of this page)
I’ve been pretty happy with the performance (until latest patch crashes)
fwiw
What’s your setup and what graphics settings do you use? On my MBP i7 2.2GHz, 8GB, Radeon 6750M 1GB, I have to set all my graphics settings to the lowest or none to get playable performance, especially in WvW or larger group events.
If you’re talking about the game I think of, I just spend this weekend with that native OSX client crashing every 15 minutes. In comparison the GW2 OSX client barely crashes at all for me. Native client is not a guarantee for better stability or performance.
I also spent the weekend with that native OSX client, and didn’t crash once. Just like the scheduled weekend before that, and the one before that. On medium graphics settings. Granted, they’ve still got work to do on it, but stability isn’t one of those things. GW2’s wrapper beta client helps me fry eggs on the casing while having to set every graphics setting to lowest or none.
Thank you Matt.
It will probably come out of beta around 4/4/2014 or somewhere thereabouts. (note: irony)
Tried the Application Support Guild Wars 2 folder delete thing as well, and while it did make my time in-game before a crash somewhat longer, it doesn’t fix the problem sadly.
I’ve submitted a ticket as well, but I’m going to stay out of pretty much everything until they decide to acknowledge this, since crashing all the time isn’t that much fun.

Note:
I am not getting error messages. As mentioned above, computer is just shutting down with no warning.
And does not matter the location either WvW or Divinity’s Reach … am on Kaineng so both are pretty empty too!!!
Yes, the error message only pops up now and then it seems. The first time I crashed, I got the error message, and my computer restarted completely after clicking the OK button. The second crash, it just froze and threw me back to the desktop, no error message. The third crash was the same as the previous one, while once again I got the error message when crashing the 4th time (when trying to submit a ticket to support in-game).
Heh, was trying to submit a bug in-game to let them know of the problem. As soon as I tried to select something from the options drop-down:
Just before you’re telling me to go to the Mac BETA (after soon 2 years..) Client forum, this is just to let tech support know we’re posting about the 10-minute crashes we’re having after today’s patch. They don’t read that forum very often, so this is just a poke to let them know stuff is happening in there:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/mac
Thank you.
Upgrade to 64-Bit Windows .. thats the only “real” solution.
Instead of roaming the forums telling people to upgrade to 64-Bit Windows in every thread, why don’t you try to help them instead? I run XP, it works fine. On my 64-bit Mac on the other hand, I have crashes every 10 minutes after today’s patch.
OOM means Out Of Memory
Starting with the patch today, it looks like an Out Of Memory error causing the frequent crashes, reading through the error log.

Same here, it takes about 5-10 minutes between crashes. Crashed twice during the Claw of Jormag event, so event participation, WvW and PvP is out of the window with this patch for Mac users.

If I get hit or downed when going through the portal, I WP out of there and don’t take part in the fight since it’s pointless when I’ve failed both achievements the first millisecond of the fight.
Perhaps it’s working as intended. With 100% of the players trying to get both achi’s at the same time during an event I doubt the fight will ever succeed. By dowing 50% at the start they make sure a good chunk of players actually contribute. So far I noticed it’s the first in that get downed; so if you need the achi’s make sure your one of the last going in.
I was wondering the same thing when she started hiccuping. Was she drunk? Did they have a celebration in a cutscene that I had missed? The reference to her stating she gets hiccups when scared from way back was totally lost on me.
If I had written down everything NPCs had said during the LS and memorised it, I might have got it.
I bet the Tanned Tree is behind all this, the rascal!
Well we escaped today to overflow (to avoid the achievement lovers, free riders etc.) with our Deso team and got a super legit kill (our 4th) on the wurm. But everyone was on TS, there was 0 afk, etc. It went like a dream and was fun. But to set up these conditions in indeed hard.
I was there for the midnight run. Unfortunately I got disconnected the second the escort started and wasn’t able to get back in. Congrats on the kill though.
My day on Desolation:
Noon: couldn’t get into main. Missed it.
2pm: couldn’t get into main. Missed it.
4pm: couldn’t get into main. Missed it.
6pm: couldn’t get into main. Missed it.
8pm: couldn’t get into main. Missed it.
10pm: GOT INTO MAIN! Main moved to overflow. Couldn’t get into overflow. Missed it.
Midnight: Got into overflow! Got disconnected 2 seconds into the escort phase, and couldn’t get back in. Missed it.
That was a great saturday. Good night.
I disagree. I am not position 23, I am in position 23 in the queue. What would work, like others have suggested above for example, would be something like:
- Your position: 23.
- Queue position: 23.
- You have position 23 in the queue.
- Your position in the queue is 23.
- Your queue position: 23.
And if you must use “you’re”:
- You’re waiting in queue and your position is currently: 23.
Flaming is right. Mac user here and those optimisations broke the game for me. I got 1 fps trying to take SM in WvW. As soon as a zerg showed up nearby, all I could do was just stand there and die. Before the patch I had between 20-30 fps with 3 zergs on-screen crashing into each other. PVE is playable, but with at least 20 fps less than yesterday, it’s barely so. I also run the game with the graphics settings set to low or lowest on everything.
MacBook Pro, i7 2.2GHz 8Gb, AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1Gb
Same thing here. I just got 1 fps in WvW, clashing with a zerg. Yesterday I had 25 fps with no issues even having 3 zergs go head-first into each other. It’s not just in WvW either, it’s pretty much everywhere. Whatever you did in this patch, please revert it or the game is dead to me.
I’ve played since headstart, I don’t want to see GW2 die like this.
MacBook Pro 2.2ghz i7 8gb ssd w/AMD Radeon 6750M 1GB
(and yes, I am running it on low graphics settings on everything).
Yes, this one has been there since beta. I remember writing a bug report about it. I experienced it myself today as well when wp:ing after the build was available, so it seems it hasn’t been fixed yet. I wouldn’t count on it to be fixed by this point tbh.
Small thing I know, I mean who cares about grammar these days right, but still the wording “You’re position” as the title for your position in the WvW queue in the new interface is … disturbing.

Same issue. Daily Activity sends me to PvP. Am forced to do the Lunatic Inquisition for the daily activity to work (thanks for the tip there gvaughn!).
I have the same issue since last patch. Like Inculpatus, the popping sound also happens to me outside GW2, but only just after exiting GW2, never in other applications like it is for him/her.
The Lunatic Inquisition Regular sure is bugged. I have 1/8, have played at least 5 times, come in from both doors in the world and from LA. Have never placed 1st though, but still have 1 out of 8. Hover your mouse over the Reward: for point breakdown and you’ll see a fairly large number up there in the billions…. (see screenshot).

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Sanctum-Sprint-achievements-missing/
Yes, the Frequent Sprinter achievement seems to be gone since the 3rd September patch. What happened? Nothing in the patch notes….
Same issue here, I’ve ended up with two sets with the same stats that are now Soulbound. Sigh. What’s even worse, I have a slew of other items in the bank never equipped (not really read to use just yet, or undecided if I wanted to keep them or not) that I can’t sell if I don’t want them. They can’t be sold on the TP in the state they are in now, and they will be Soulbound if I click on them. That’s just crazy.
What should happen:
- Items never ever equipped should not become Soulbound, or even Account bound!
- Items that were Soulbound, should be Account Bound after stat-selection.
- Items that had been equipped but were not Soulbound, should not be Soulbound, nor Account Bound.
I’ve never spent a dime in the cash shop, and this move just adds fuel to that decision.
Same thing happens to me, only a lot more frequently (1 invasion is usually enough to start off the blue-green tint skin effect covering other players and NPCs which tells me the crash is imminent).
Even though I’m using WinXP I agree there should be a 64bit client at this point. And a fix to the memory handling which is clearly not working well at the moment.
It certainly is odd enough. Did you try fiddling with the status (I mean changing it to offline, and back to online again? I’ve had checkboxes and settings behave strangely myself – options turned on even though they were not checked, and not turned off until I checked and cleared the checkbox). If that doesn’t do it, I’d send in a support ticket and hope they’ll be able to figure it out on their end.
Are you sure your in-game status isn’t set to “offline”? If you open up the friends list (I think “Y” is used for that) and look at your status up top left in that window, what colour is the little square? If it is grey, you’re listed as “offline” and cannot receive any guild chat messages, party or whispers. Click on it to change it. If it’s bright green though, then something else is the problem.
GW2 client keeps crashing with strange colors

I have the same issue. Once I get into the game, and it’s not crashing on startup, I can change areas perhaps 3-4 times before people start to have a blue-greenish tint, and about a minute later it crashes (even when standing still, doing nothing).
I rarely see textures after coming to a new area since the last patch either, and no loot bags either. It takes at least 5 minutes before they show up in the world.
I have deleted my Local.dat file and run -repair.
I’ve re-downloaded the whole game again (actually it did that by itself after a crash)
I’ve defragged my hard drive.
I’ve got the latest nVidia drivers for the graphics card.
I’ve added the /3GB switch (running Win XP pro on pure Intel).
No overclocking, no special setup. The game used to run fairly well before the latest patch (about 3 reboots to get it to run, because it crashes on startup, but it did run once I got it running then).
