Wait, are you saying you won’t be able to get influence after HoT drops?
That is correct, you’ll be unable to either gain or use influence to progress your guild. You will need favor.
Building your guild hall
(snip)Second, you’ll need favor, which is earned by running guild missions.(snip)
I completely missed that blog post, thanks for pointing it out to me. If the influence to favour conversion rate is low as people say, I guess it’s time to spend it. But on what…
Wait, are you saying you won’t be able to get influence after HoT drops?
Yes, I have reported this as well, first through a support ticket – got the standard reply to post a bug in-game or post on the forums, so I reported in-game and posted on the forums. Haven’t heard a thing since, and it’s been a fair while.
Here’s what it looks like:
I’d like to see a response from Anet on this.
I couldn’t believe the ranger bots were back, but I loaded into Dry Top tonight and lo and behold there they were. Tons of them even, just standing there in the same spot placing traps over and over again. I reported maybe 10 of them, and asked the others to do the same but seeing it was some time since we had the “bot invasion” problem last time I think there are a lot of people who just ignore it or don’t know how to.
This needs to be taken care of though, and the faster the better for everyone. Can we get some feedback from Anet on this please?
You guys should try the TP on the Mac client if you think it’s slow running on Windows.
On Mac it rarely even loads at all. Using the “solution” to delete the cache etc. makes it only load once (and I’m not going to be forced to reset all my settings every day just to be able to load it up) and then it’s back to it’s usual no-go state.
And even when it does load, it’s so unresponsive and slow the game accidentally activates skills instead of filling in numbers in the input fields, which is extremely annoying when you wanted to type 50 for example, and your skill 5 and 0 (elite) activates instead because the UI is so slow. I have to type like my granddad for it to recognise my keystrokes. And don’t even start on button responsiveness or search. Gem store? I get it to load maybe once every few weeks.

I just went to Caledon Forest to do the Jungle Wurm world boss event, and had finished most of the pres with about 20 other people when I got a loading screen to Caledon Forest in the middle of fighting. When it had finished loading, I was dropped at the same spot but in a fresh new empty of players instance of Caledon Forest where the pres had not even been started.
I’ve never seen that happen before in 3 years of playing GW2. Anyone else had that happen? It really sucked because I missed out on the world boss since I was the only one around and there was no way of finishing it solo in time.
A month without any reply at all on this from Anet most likely means they’re not going to say anything and keep it under the rug until people stop posting. It saddens me to see this behaviour from them, but it’s not like it’s the first time either.
And it’s actually been 3 years. The game was released August 28th, 2012.
Been trying to get the drop for the “Jormag Defense Guide” Collection for 428 days (and counting), killing the Claw of Jormag every day (save for a two week vacation). I’ve seen one person get it once during this time. I mean, just to start it, how rare does it have to be?
I just thought of another spot this happens:
When you go to your home instance, and head for the candy corn node, three kids run up to that node making you talk to them instead of harvesting the node. You have to wait for them to run past it, or manually target the node.
I agree with the OP on this, but I think Anet placed them there for a reason – which is not to annoy us but to prolong our stay in the game, be it those extra seconds it takes to swear at the NPC, move a bit and try again.
Just like the Moa placed down to the right of where Claw of Jormag lands in phase 1. If you Tab-target when trying to target the wall, you’ll get the Moa first, and fire your first load of rockets at it. Every time.
This new generation of gamers (or rather streamers) base the success of things in a whole other way than most people. Lots of “followers” = success. Lots of “viewers” = success. Lots of “Likes” = success, etc. Even companies fall for this way of rating success. Lets be frank, it’s not.
I mean, I zap through 100 channels on TV, does that mean all those channels have really successful programs? Are all those channels successful because of it? Nope. I’m on their channel for a minute, then move on to another, maybe go to the kitchen for a while or turn it off.
If I press the “follow” button for a channel because someone said “you can WIN STUFF if you follow. Thank you for following, really appreciate it, thank you for following really appreciate it, thank you for following really app…” (ad nauseam) , and never return to it, ever again. And 5.000.000 others does the same. Does that mean the channel is really really successful?
If I am the channel owner and I buy 100.000 followers (and yes, you can do that, I know companies who buy likes on Facebook without blinking), does that mean the channel is really successful?
If I scroll through my Facebook feed and press “Like” on a random number of various posts, maybe a few “Like and share this post to have a chance to WIN STUFF”, are those companies and/or persons who posted those successful?
If kids start to call things “salty” for two weeks (then the fad is over and they’ve all moved on to the next “thing”, they’ve still pressed that Follow button once, mind) does that mean the guy blurting out obscenities and calling things “salty” is successful?
Before they raised it in 2012 the cap was 1 million, so I’m curious to what they thought back then would be enough.
But if you guys have seen people with 20 million, it would be safe to say it’s at least 99 million. And if it is set to the max 32-bit limit like sercommander says, it’ll definitely take a while to reach that number!
What is the karma cap, introduced in 2012? Has anyone been given a number from Anet?

I’ll update in 5 minutes.
Thank you Sae! Much appreciated.
Anyone have an update for today? I’m on a Mac, and the TP is rarely loading on the beta client… so I’ve been relying on people to tell me or post here what’s on sale. Thanks!
Bug description: Exotic weapons that are part of the “Exotic Hunter” Collection do not show “Collection” in their description, and there is no “Add to collection” menu item when right-clicking on them.
Bug history: I have had a conversation with support about this bug through a support ticket, where they immediately replied that this had been solved, all I had to do was to logout and in again. So when I then sent them the screenshots included below to show them it has not been resolved, they asked me to send a bug report in-game, and/or post here in this forum.
Screenshots show the exotic axe “Truth” (pun not intended) which I have not yet added to my “Exotic Hunter” collection, as can be seen in the screenshot. One with the mouse-over description which says nothing about it being part of a collection, and one with the right-click menu which says nothing about adding it to a collection.
Frozen maw sure is fps hungry, what kind of computer do you run GW2 on? Has it never happened at any other world bosses like Shatterer for example?
Hi there Hilex,
if you can post more about your issue it will be easier for us other Mac users to help you out. What happens exactly? What error message do you get? Where do you get it? Can you login with the client? Have you tried to repair the client? What type of Mac do you have, what version of OSX? Etc. Post as much information as you can and it’ll be easier for us to help you.
I have a similar problem to this one, all the exotics that are part of a collection do not show “Collection” in their description any longer. I know they did before the LA patch, but since then they don’t. Other things, like the spoons and whatever show it in their description but not exotic weapons for instance. Could this be linked somehow?
And the Explorer achievements since the LA update are also gone.
And the Jumping Puzzles achievements since the LA update are also gone.
I don’t dare play until they fix this tbh.
Temporary solution to the problem seeing most of the GW2 asset servers are down is to manually force your client to use one of the few asset servers that are up. Thanks to UnknownFreak for suggesting using another asset server in the other support forum.
On Mac:
Open a terminal window, copy and paste this line and press return:
/applications/guild\ wars\ 2.app/contents/MacOS/cider —use-dos-cwd C:Gw2 -- C:\\GW2\\GW2.exe -assetsrv 151.249.89.19:80
On PC:
- Right click on your Guild Wars 2 shortcut and select ‘Properties’.
- In the ‘Target Area’ field you will see the location of your Guild Wars 2 executable file:
…\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe
- Add the command line argument for the working asset server after the quote marks, beginning with a space:
“…\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -assetsrv 151.249.89.19:80
- Save and close, and now you should be able to login when you run the game.
NOTE that this is just a temporary solution, they need to get their asset servers up and running again.
You can see the status of all GW2 servers here:
http://www.gw2status.de
The GW2 game client will not connect to the login servers as of today. The client on PC says “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…” and on Mac the GW2 icon just stays in the dock without showing any login window.
Yes, I’ve tried repairing the client, and no that does nothing – since it can’t connect to the GW2 servers. And yes, I have sent in a support ticket about it two hours ago, no reply.
In Europe, Sweden.
MBP 13" Retina 2014 OSX 10.9.5.
Generic PC with a generic screen running generic Windows.
It’s not a bug but a server issue, so this thread should be in the Technical Issues forum, where there is already a thread on this issue.
You should also file a support ticket to let them know about the problem so it can be fixed since support rarely reads these forums.
I think the login severs are down, on Mac that usually means you get no login window, just the GW2 icon in the dock, which is the case for me right now. Let support know please (by filing a ticket through the link Lana posted above), so they can fix it.
Same thing here, it worked yesterday (and two years back) but not today. Running the client just shows it in the dock, nothing else happens. I’ve tried repairing the client but that just does the same thing, GW2 icon in the dock, terminal application just sitting there waiting to complete the repair.
MBP Retina 2014 running OSX 10.9.5.
OP can you change the topic please, just remove “on new system” since this is a more widespread issue it seems. And everyone please file a ticket for this so support actually get to know there’s a problem, I don’t think they read this forum.
It’s still bugged. Please, can we get at least a “we know about it” response from ANet after a year?!
I have also been playing on my Mac since launch and have never seen that. A quick search on that error however gave this solution from reddit:
“Do you have any Razer device? If yes, stop the process “razerstatsmanager.exe” with the task manager. This is what i have to do (but only with sweetfx or any variant installed). It worked but since a patch about a month ago it isn’t anymore."
Try clearing out the TP’s cache. Instructions are in a sticky in the account/technical support forum. Sometimes a file gets corrupted there, preventing the entire TP from loading.
If you have no luck with that, create a support ticket so the Customer Service team can work with you individually. (The forums are good for getting help from other players, but bad for ensuring your specific issue gets looked at quickly.)
I went through the stickies and couldn’t find anything on how to clear the TP’s cache in there, if it’s in there I must have missed it. Any chance you could point me to it? Thanks!
It has always worked with Yosemite, with the exception of when Yosemite was in beta and Arenanet hadn’t tweaked the client to be compatible with it. If you’ve been experiencing issues then they are specific to you/your machine and/or are isolated.
Oh nice, I didn’t dare to upgrade after the beta and after that I haven’t had a chance to check on the issue until now. Thanks Foxx. Time to upgrade!
So GW2 now works with Yosemite? Can anyone confirm this?
have you tried waiting a (surprisingly long) time, as it may just be taking a while to start?
^this. Start the client, go make a cup of coffee, read the paper and watch the birds for a while, then go back to your computer and see if it’s not up and running. Sometimes this happens to me as well, from time to time. Not sure what’s causing it though, but like others have stated in this thread, Mac users aren’t really cared for by Anet it seems.
TP has definitely been shaky since the last patch. Most days I can’t access it at all, just get a black screen – like how it used to be every few weeks before they rewrote the whole thing. But that bug is back now.
Sometimes it works again if I go to a few different zones and then try to launch it, sometimes it works if I quit the game and kill the “cookied” process, restart and immediately try to access the TP when in game.
But most of the time, the Black Lion Trading Post is just black, showing an endless loading thingie.
Just got the very same crash here too. And I’m on a Mac. Said a report had been sent to ArenaNet automatically.
Same thing happening here… TP is not working on the Mac.
Can we please get an official answer on this?
Thank you Paul, I’ve been standing at the spore spot for a few hours now with no mobs spawning – the event starts fine, but no mobs are spawning. Do you mean it will be fixed and they will start spawn if I just keep standing on the spot? Without needing to download an update?
It’s not just comcast, or time-warner. I’m in Sweden and we don’t even have those ISPs here and I get the same thing since the june 3rd patch.
It’s called rubber banding – the communication between the server and your client don’t match up (for whatever reason), and so the client doesn’t really know what it is supposed to be showing you. Then once it makes contact with the server properly you get a fast forward effect as it places everything in its right place.
I’m used to rubber-banding in games since EQ beta in 1998, and I’m not a stranger to actual disconnects too, but the third one that’s unnoticeable and takes away your reward at the end of the event is fairly new. To me, it sounds like it’s a glitch with the megaservers seeing there are a lot of people not receiving chests/rewards from events even though they should have.
+1 I have 14fps in regular empty PVE zones I used to have 40fps in since the june 3rd patch. I’ve reported it. Haven’t heard anything back.
The latest patch on June 3rd has caused a fair few issues on my MBP that I wonder if anyone else has experienced.
1. It made my FPS go down a lot, even in empty PVE zones. I zoned into Caledon forest just now, not a single person around, jungle wurm not due anytime soon. I got 14fps. Before the patch I used to have 40fps there. That’s just an example. Frostgorge Sound is playable, moving about there used to be a pain, slow… fast… slow… fast… slow.. but now it’s more like moving through treacle.
2. I get odd disconnects. Some kick me out of the game, others just make people run into walls for a bit and then everything fast-forwards until I’m up to speed. But the kicker one is: Today I went on a great wurm attempt in bloodtied coast with a guild mate. Even though we decapitated two wurms, I didn’t get any silver chest – which happens to me a lot, and to a lot of other people. A seemingly random bug I’ve thought. But then I talked to my guild mate who said he got a message that I went offline and then came back online a few seconds later during the fight. I didn’t disconnect. I didn’t even notice a connection problem. But I looked at his logs and sure enough it said I went offline and then immediately online again. I checked my own system log, and it looks like I logged on in the middle of the fight (it shows a lot of friends coming online right at that moment, like it does when you log on).
So, that’s an unnoticeable server disconnect, for a second or so, that doesn’t kick you out of the game, doesn’t show anything wrong while you’re playing, and it looks like it robs you out of getting any rewards.

Killed the great jungle wurm again yesterday, same thing – the Wurmicidal Maniac achievement did not unlock.
The attempt for that, we got two heads off, unfortunately failed on the third, but didn’t get any reward chests (which you normally get for at least beheading one or two).
Can we get an update on this?
I just noticed yesterday that the first two kills in WvW did not count towards the daily (kill 10 invaders). I even stomped the second after noticing the first didn’t register just to make sure, but it didn’t register either. After those two, I got my 10 kills though, but I was wondering if maybe this is somehow related.
Gandara just managed to kill the wurm, but it seems the Wurmicidal Maniac achievement is still bugged. A lot of us, including myself, didn’t get it. We’ve worked kitten this for about a month now, and when we finally made it (yay), the achievement is bugged (…). Are you still working on this?
I’m fairly sure the Black Lion Trading company thread was on the first page 19 hours ago since it’s the current hotbed, but it doesn’t matter. If you only look at the first post of a thread in a forum and think nothing has happened in that thread since when the OP posted it, you’ve been missing a lot
Please, at least glance at the topics on the first page of this forum before posting a new thread. :P

Haha. I just love where this thread is going.
tl:dr “Mac users are rich, so you better take good care of us”
