I would even suggest critical chance for condition damage, is too easy to clean conditions lol. But another time maybe. I just want to point out that cond dmg is the only thing that force glass builds to actually get some defensive trait/utility.
They need to reduce the extremes — bring down the scaling of damage, especially berserker stats, and in turn tone down self healing and the protection boon for bunker specs.
I don’t mind if they actually nerf protection buff, or even damage reduced by toughness. I just want a way to deal whit this kind of damage. Because the only thing that works nowdays is dodging in that second.
If we have critical damage increase stat, why don’t we have a symmetrical defensive stat? To actually balance things, you know.
Critical damage is way too strong in this game. Why don’t we have some sort of defensive stat similar to wow’s resilience? Something that reduces both critical dmg and chance. Toughness should innately have these stats imo.
I’m tired of these mega spike dmg builds, 3 clones on your face boom, mug backstab hs hs hs, etc.

WvW pvp quality is quite amazing…
Or make it only visible for allies. There’s a lot of people, my self included, who just rush upleveled targets because they drop like flies. I think it’s not fair for a guy who wants to level his 60’, and is being rushed even in teamfights by 80’s in full exotics/superior runes.
More like an upleveled tag is a free badge tag in 90% of most situations.
Whole pve is about warriors spamming 100blades, and mesmers buffing them.
Also they are very ’’elitists’’, in this impressive tactics, you need LOT of experience, no joke big deal.
No one is using HGH in high level pvp. It offers 0 utility, just boons and grenades. Elixir S nerf is another big reason I believe.

Any class free casting ranged things from high spots is dangerous. Not sure what to say. Their damage is quite predictable, and 3 of them have medium/long cds. They’re also not that easy to land, engis have to aim and predict your movement, you shouldn’t stand still.
Sure, stealth is a nuisance…in hot-joins. You know, where nobody gives a rat’s kitten about capturing points.
Any Thief using Stealth extensively in a tournament team is contributing nothing and should be kicked. The mechanic prevents you interacting with the main objective of the kittening game.
Sounds like an easy fix then. Replace traits that reward you for being stealthed with traits that reward you for being unstealthed/ general survival traits and everyone wins! Less stealth and thieves get to interact with the main objective! Yay!!
I would be perfectly happy with that. I’ve always hated Stealth as a mechanic. I want Assassin back.
Problem is you have an unstealthed assassin already, known as S/D S/D runes of lyssa/energy sigils and massive dodge thief.
He could have done anything really, and yes aoe does happen to work,
Not sure if serious. If a thief runs into aoe, is because he wants, it’s quite easier to dodge red circles in general. Is even easier vs necros, since you can dodge and ’’trigger’’ wells whitout being dmged. Problematics aoes are stuns/fears/cc (shadow return says hi), and conditions (shadow arts tree).

And why would you did? Heal yourself? Aoe around like headless chicken? He still will chain cnd after your heals and laugh at you. I believe that 75% of that zerg just quited the game after that situation, just doesn’t seem right Anet allowing any class to chain a damage/cloak skill.
It’s like if in WoW rogues were allowed to ambush/stealth in 1 skill, and dots on rogue wouldn’t break stealth, just lol.

Teleports can be used to teleport on the Z axis -vertically-. Wtf?? Really? Thieves teleporting upwards to the trebuchet in spvp or can be abused by mesmers/thieves on terrain in wvw. If that is allowed then I want my leaps to travel the same distance.
Lol, didn’t you know? PvP Maps are Designed to have a lot of those teleport shortcuts.
We’re making a progress, from a l2p issue to a default design no issue. Actually I don’t know if this is a progress. Ok nevermind.
A lot of people think thieves guard nodes… therefore they’re useless because stealth-decapping etc.
Thieves assault nodes, roam around killing people between nodes, make insta 2v1 because they mobility is insane, and off course they can’t be seen running around.
They shouldn’t be capping or guarding nodes, you have bunkers for that.
You dont need vision on your target to use infiltrator’s strike. So you’ll never see him coming/porting back.
Also this build didn’t have so much damage, it’s like a S/D whit shadows arts. He can do even better playing Jumper’s high evasion build. And even kill you easier whit 5 secs of stability from runes of Lyssa

Initiative is a joke. Get initiative regen from traits/utilities and done. Not sure why I’m discussing this, there are lot of broken mechanisms that people just abuse.

Did you see Jumper’s stream/build? He goes in whit 5 seconds of stability from runes of Lyssa every 45 secs and can reset a fight whenever he wants, even better than using stealth.
A single weapon skillset shouldn’t be able to do all this things:
- inmobilize
-shadow step (in/out) whit 0 cd. This skill also doesn’t need direct vision of your target…
-stun break
-gap closer (it’s an animation similar to hs)
-remove boons
-steal boons
-dodge
-does very good dmg, Larcenous strike does 504 base dmg. And it’s not like you choose between utility or burst, you do both, pressing 1 key.
And i’m just considering 2 of 5 skills of this weapon set. I’m not considering utilities/elites or they second weapon set. Jumper uses S/D also as secondary, lol.
I mean I know thieves have 0 access to boons, but this is a little too much imo. And fix runes of lyssa for elites whit short cds, a thief whit stability is just god mode.
Old thieves were more balanced QQ.
I dislike this whole bunker game mode. Go tanky get cond damage, stay on node forever. It’s also unfun to watch.

You might be surprised by how easily you can kill them.

Yes, because the build in question is… wait for it… A BUNKER BUILD! That is the entire point of bunker builds. To hold out on point until help arrives. At no point should you ever expect to beat a bunker build 1v1. If you are stupid enough to run into a point with a bunker on it, and are further lapse in judgement when it comes to running away from said point when your health is low, you deserve to die. Simple as that.
Problem is your ’’bunker’’ is actually doing similar damage like non bunkers builds. Simple as that.

Tailswipe damage is 647, while a backstab is 806. I think it’s over the top for a thing that chase you forever, no matter where you go, and it’s very hard to kill itself.
I just took 7k dmg from a pet, using http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tail_Swipe, and I don’t talk about the ranger itself, troll unguent etc, which is also too much survability imo, while doing condition damage, cheapest stat .
This situation reminds me to stampede, wow patch 5.2……. And you know how much people quited that game after those kittened patches.
I am a commander on my server and I tell people to not rezz people sub lvl 80 and kick them from my groups.
Its wrong that low lvls can win with good coordination. A same skillful and geared lvl 80 can easily beat 3 of them at once.
I reported you. You should be banned and never be allowed to command anything anymore, because you’re making calls against wvw rules, which allows people to play underleveled if they want.
Spam grenades requires skill…it’s not that they are also bunkers….oh wait.
All the hate aside play a thief and you’ll understand that there are drawbacks to the class. If you do get caught off guard your screwed. If shadowstep is down your screwed. If you encounter a good zerg before you can stealth your screwed.
If you get caught and your escapes are down, ofc you’re going down. You still can aoe blind or stealth and troll restealth whit CnD or D/P, port whit SB, and wait for some utility up. But if you get caught that means that your awareness is still very very poor, or a full zerg just wants to gank you.
Infiltrator’s strike has also a broken range since forever, you can port back from any range, even after switch weapons.
That’s the main problem I think, they can reset fights forever. Rogues in wow for example have vanish (2 min cd) and preparation (5min). If they mess up their initiation, they have to blow a big cd to reset.
The fact that you can chain CnD forever, shadowstep away and try again, means stealth is a broken mechanic. If they nerf CnD, they still have smoke field + Hs . Not sure how to fix these things whitout break the entire class though.
Might stacking allows you to go full defensive and still do lot of damage. Not sure how this wasn’t adressed yet. It’s like a glass build having protection endlessly.
You have a BIG arrow on a downed mesmer head, and people (mainly bloodthirsty warriors) still fail to finish the real one. Facepalm situations.
I think its reasonable to assume the devs are looking into both BM rangers and phantasm mesmers
How many Phantasm Mesmers are in the current meta? Oh that’s right… zero… I wonder why?
This whole complaining about mesmers is heavily based around hot join. In there people can’t distinguish between an illusion or a mesmer…
You won’t get any good response here, only warriors crying massively about other classes , they zerging the forums against thieves/mesmers actually. Maybe in necro forum you’ll find better advise. In my opinion necros are balanced, and you have some viable builds to play whit.
