That video undermines your point, it was a running joke on the PvP forums.
It is against the same bad thief who does nothing but auto attack spam, not use mug and doesn’t even heal against a specialized Anti-Thief build.

It’s a joke that an engineer has to make a video to actually take down a thief, when they’re a counter actually. Also that enginner was running weird stuff like med kit and mines….. and it’s from april, pre massive thieves nerfs, like mug.
Condition necro will stomp all over a condition engineer. This is one of those match-ups that is just predictible; you’ll need to considerably outplay the necro in order to win as a condition engineer.
Your best bet is some CC, or getting up in his face with a grenade kit or wrench.
Agree. Necros counter everything right now.. they also counter other necros.. probably running some weird power build and trying to dodge wells, no chance if he’s good. If you’re playing wvw you should be able to outrun them at least

Agree 100%. I always feel trolled being killed by siege of any kind. I don’t even like them when they’re free. It’s just bored (0 risk dumb mechanism) to sit there and spam your aoe from 1km away……

Didn’t you face fresh air S/D eles? or actually shatter mesmers? They’ll take you down whitout even going stealth. And necros can burst equally high these days. To say that thieves burst is op isn’t only false, it’s outdated.

Problem is you’re able to stack both toughness and condi dmg, all you have to do is run in circles and spam your aoe. Also enginners are able to have perma vigor for some reason, they dodge in circles actually lol.

I agree with almost all you’ve said, however I don’t think the problem is that the game has been oversold, because I’ve got this game just few days after its launch and it was fine to play. I guess they did some crap on recent updates OR are trying to reduce costs with servers.

And I don’t know what do you want people to say, I’ am like 1 month (previous dragon patch) being unable to play because I just see people warping around.

Not only some US users have this problem, but europeans are experiencing the same kind of issue, it’s kinda a global issue right now, thanks to some mistake ArenaNet made during the last patch or something around this timeline.
I posted there like 20 days ago (lol), you can search it by yourself, page 2. Also there was a larger thread, now closed I believe, similar topic.
This lag is clearly not affecting majority of US players, those close to servers off course, and this is why I’m pointing out nodes between us (international people) and main servers (which could affect people inside US but far from main nodes).

I submitted a support ticket and received fast responses from the support team. You will be asked to go through some general trouble shooting to discard problems and be able to pinpoint the real problem.

Imo arcane thievery is the best one. I still didn’t find a good way to remove them, they’re too easy to reapply and after last patch is just a condition fest everywhere, it’s mesmer weak point imo. Shattered conditions would be good if it wasn’t placed in that tree..

They shouldn’t touch thief and mesmer for a few patches…. like srsly they’re strong in their current state. If they don’t play condition is because power builds are faceroll, not because they’re weak.
Also thieves have a lot of access to weakness, like in their sword autoattack… it’s a huge buff for bruiser builds, whatever.
It’s kind of funny. I was just playing Rift a few days ago and thought “man Storm Shackle would be really helpful for the kitten staff ele who can’t kite or chase classes like thief and mesmer.”

Condition mesmers are a nightmare. Staff plus scepter/torch, sooo annoying. Let’s see how this works out, going to reroll mesmer soon I believe.
Everything about S/D is spamming 3 and using dodge, you have nearly 70% dodge uptime, until you shadow return and reset the fight, hard as that.
And thieves are a spammy class because initiative system is terrible and you’re forced to spam the same op skill in different situations, like using HS as a gap closer, why not? It’s a joke to recover initiative anyways, between stealth, traits, utilities, dodges, etc.
Near 10k views, keep it coming guys! Need 20k to actually start thinking it’s not your ISP problem though.

Not sure why you’re allowed to use a skill while channeling another one. Anet’s logic….. and this fix wouldn’t even fix stealth stomps, which is plain broken like the whole stealth/initiative(no cd spam forever) mechanisms.

Teldo’s build has 0 skillshots. I mean he doesn’t even use grenades, which aren’t that easy to land at range. Bombs are actually dumb, it’s similar to grenades at melee range, you just run around spamming them, waiting for that mad thief to die trying to kill you. Plus enginners have some natural tankiness, plus easy acces to vigor (a.k.a dodge spam), regen, switftness just switching kits………… I would say enginners are nw friendly actually.
I want to highlight a method I’ve been using to circumvent this for other users: If you use the guest functionality to guest on a different (and perhaps lower population server) it seems to completely remove skill/movement lag. I have had luck choosing Gunnar’s Hold as a guest server where I’m finding no lag at all during game play.
In the interest of players providing more information to the Guild Wars 2 staff, you can monitor the lag by using the Windows program resmon.exe (it comes with Windows 7) and choose Gw2.exe under the Network tab. I wonder if we will be able to highlight a common remote IP address range or so by collaboratively providing this information.
When you guest on a different server, you don’t switch to a different connection, it’s the same. You can actually check this by using Resmon, like you said lol. There’s a range of networks you connect every time you login in, which is something like 64.25.3*.*, I tried different nodes, having similar consequences.
No monthly fee = 0 maintenance. Sad but true.
I don’t understand how they insta patch an achievement bug, and this problem which is here since days doesn’t deserve 1 word.
I’m getting these lags/desyncs, and random connection drops. So I started monitoring (using Resmon and Tcpview) my ping towards Anet servers.
First, normal ms for me is 190. I’m getting 450+ ms towards 64.25.., wich randomly drops to 270+ and then start to spike again to 450 range, explaining desyncs. Sometimes these connections randomly change or drop, that’s when I got a dc I believe. If you force close some of these connections you will get others that actually work better, but seems like the main node isn’t still working good, so it’s still crappy in general.
Not sure why this is trolling, check jumper’s build, using double S/D energy sigils, just to perma dodge. Change short bow for S/D and you have an overpowered build for spvp, because you know flanking strike also evades.
This kind of food shouldn’t exist imo. Food being stronger than traits is just a broken concept. I would like a 40% reduced crit dmg food, everyone would be crying.
