The more I think about that change the more I feel it’s a buff. Sure it nerfed backstab but we gain alot more. It’s also a nice buff to cluster bomb, before I critted between 3-5K with that skill, gonna give me another 1k damage to alot of targets on keep defence. And as someone stated before the Mug+CnD+Backstab ending with double heartseeker gonna be lethal traited with 20% damage under 50% health.

The reason I like it is that I can switch between alot more viable builds when I get sick of D/D. Feel that my power/crit exotic set for WvWvW will last longer and I can easily switch between D/D, S/D, S/P, P/P.

3 words, Blind On Animation.

sPVP needs a ladder system badly, ala SC2.

Ah okok, so if I don’t care about legendarys and the star I’m better off just completing the higher zones for exotics.

Am I hearing this correctly, nerf Mug? What does that 2k of damage have to do with anything? It’s like 4 stacks of might, almost nothing…

Correct me if I’m wrong but if you use the active blind on that signet the 25% movement buff dissapears until the cooldown is up.

OT, is there a pistol skin with silencer on them? Think I saw one before, not sure.

Backstab is perfectly fine, infact I’m gonna change build to a condition because BS is so lackluster. I’m not one-shotting people with full exotic (shouldn’t do that either). Maybe lower levels in WvWvW but I do around 6-9k damage on a backstab, most ppl run over 15k hp. After the backstab I’m all out of tricks. Skilled players will always beat a BS thief.

Gonna try the build in sPVP before aquireing a new set of exotics for my WvWvW char :P

I’m rolling a D/D backstab build atm, getting somewhat bored with it. What do you guys think of the P/D cond build? Only thing that bugs me is that it seems to only consist of CnD and auto-attack, doesn’t that get really really boring after awhile? Also, what utility skills are used with it? Venoms?

GEAR: I bought all 6 pieces of my gear from karma vendors. Mix and match to get your desired thief effect: glass cannon or really glass cannon.

RUNE: Buy SUPERIOR runes only. get SIX of them. Attach runes to karma vendor armor pieces.

I feel the exotic orbs being more flexible, any reason behind using runes?

I give up on upgrading armor. It’s too confusing in this game. I spent like 5g on random junk and nothing worked right. I have no clue how to get use of all Rune properties. I tried making new armor in pvp and it looked even more kitten than my starting gear. This game and gear seems kind of stupid to me. Everything else is great.

You have to spend some cash on Fine transmutation stones, trust me. I really LOVE the green berserker lvl 80 look, try it out. Duelist has some really nice looks too.

As for stats, crafted is the best for us thiefs. Mix and match how you want, for power crit use a mix of valkyrie, berserker and knight. For condition go full Carrion.

Most popular skins for thief is, human cultural tier 2, duelist gear and the whispers hood from order of whispers. Reply to me if you need more guidance.

Pretty crazy that he can do the same damage as me and maintain that amount of defence. I won’t even go into their healing capabilities and capping points in sPVP, they need tweaking for sure.

Not sure, didn’t check the combat log, looked like Whirlwind wrath. I’m running with 800 toughness, that might be the problem.

Yup ppl don’t realize how important dodge is.

If you wanna look at a real imba problem, look at guardians. Best defence and can one shot glass cannons. I can’t for the life of me beat a skilled guardian. I’m not even full glass cannon. My BS + steal proc hits them for around 8-10k damage, and maybe I get some auto attacks in before they full heal and proceed to roflstomp me.

Really cheap while I grind for the other skins. I’m going for a full black dye with whispers hood so want pretty dark daggers. Ashame I can’t get vigil dagger :/

Thrill of the crime + Assassin’s signet + backstab on full berserker gear will yield those results. Keep moving around, a backstab is really hard to land on players that never stand still.

Has anyone found some nice looking dagger skins? Was looking at the mystic daggers, any1 know the recipes for weapons like Mystic spike etc?

A little OT but why are the BOH gear so bad? Invaders dagger costs around 300 badges and is alot worse than 2g crafted daggers. I could look pasted bad stats but they are really ugly models too :/

I go Sword/pistol, rock dog procs pretty often though. I don’t rely on TS. You’ll be amazed how many ppl walk over shadow trap. If everything is up I can 1v3-5 easily. Pretty nice with 19k hp and 2k toughness too. I sacrifice alot of mobility though, more of a brute thief that can take a few hits and deal decent damage, mesmers are easymode with this build.

Until they fix condition we I will be running that one in sPVP and backstab in WvWvW.

OT, is that the vigil dagger?

I’m actually abit scared of the recent patches. Ppl cried about HS spam , it got nerfed. Ppl cried about PW spam, it got nerfed. Now the whiners starts focusing on backstab and LDB, I feel ANET is listening to them and might render the thief a useless class. And as others have stated before, nerfing PW damage wasn’t the right way to go about it.

Serious question, I play as a thief and consider myself to be pretty decent at it, I have tried all the “OP” builds and none of them are any good against ppl who knows what they are doing. Trying backstab glass cannon now for a bit and it feels pretty balanced, good guardians and warriors demolish me, not even funny.

What MIGHT be OP is the venom share builds though, with rock dog sigil and shadowtrap a thief can have 4 pets and running 2000 toughness with decent power and damage. A little early to tell but might be to powerful.

The only thing sPVP needs is a ladder system. I want to be matched with equally skilled people. Gear and power progression doesn’t belong in this game though.
