lol, I wish I could hear the Kain voice chat. I imagine it must go something like:
Zergling 1: OMG, there’s Yaks inbound to Longview!
Zergling 2: Crap, how many?
Zergling 1: It’s a zerg man, they must have 6, no wait, SEVEN yaks!
Zergling 2: Mother of god….
Zergling 1: Kitten! They just took Longview from our forces! Reporting massive casualties there.
Zergling 2: Holy cheetohs! Commander! What should we do against those odds?
Commander: …. Well mentlegen, in this situation there’s only one thing we CAN do.
Send 30, plus whomever else you see zoning in.
Zerglings 1 and 2: AYE AYE SIR!;)
Look, I never doubted that we in Kaineng outnumber you overall. But come on you guys had zerg too. Tonight in YB BL we repelled your attacks 5 times at garrison when you guys got more men than us.
Once again I am not doubting that Kaineng has more men and better coverage than you overall. But it isn’t as bad as you are saying.
Bottom line: Play fair on the forums.
Yes, that was an epic series of battles at YBBL Garrison tonight. As Chips said we repelled 5 attacks, 4 of them in the Keep Lord’s room. Yaks fought hard and both sides dug pretty deep into their bags of tricks in terms of siege placement, portals, supply running, etc. At one point I think I saw our Keep Lord defending the catwalks with us. It was really 3 hours of good fun!
Thanks to all who rallied to the defense and thanks to Yaks Bend for putting us to the test.

I saw you busting out some sweet dance moves when I was weekending in Cragtop; you the frolicking lady of the woods across the canyon in your green leather pants, me the slim and closely-cropped soldier near the tower wearing my blues—we were but a stones-throw away. I beckoned for you to join me, perhaps to share a piece of omnom pie? Yet you kept dancing as if in a trance, oblivious. I tried to pierce your heart repeatedly with my ballista’s arrow, but alas—you were invulnerable to my advances. I could only stand there from afar, wistfully, longing for what could’ve been.

Fairly accurate assessment on Kain IMO. A lot of us on Kain were hoping this week would be the test for us. Many of us feel we are not as sharp as we need to be and yet it’s difficult to train to get sharper in a one-sided match. Was glad the first few hours after reset had some great battles and very pleasantly surprised to see CD strike out tonight and show some of their stuff.
Even with some of their guilds leaving, I bet Crystal and the Yaksters don’t drop in rankings very far before they find themselves winning again.

Of course your happy to face DB again they broke your old servers sprites and now you want to ride WM’s momentum to get revenge.
nothing changes with RE.
This is actually true IMO, albeit cynical. We were talking in vent last night, reminiscing about a defense of Bay Keep against Dragonbrand that lasted 3 hours before we inevitably finally lost it after 2AM server time. We knew we were going to lose it because at that point Darkhaven had lost our two biggest night guilds and DB had a night presence the likes of which we hadn’t seen to date.
This time around we have War Machine, SoS, Meow and several other guilds to take over our investments as we fight into the night, a really good feeling. DB has grown in size and skill since we last battled, I’m really looking forward to seeing how things go this time around. I know for sure we are going to have some huge battles and it’s going to be a lot of fun!

Fight clubs don’t demonstrate skill in WvW , they demonstrate skill at dueling or 5v5. There’s a big difference in roaming groups like AD who don’t really duel and those who do.(Not implying anything negative) We don’t run duelist builds as a norm, we tend to pick the builds that offer the best group support which makes us weak in a duel.
Fight Club is also about learning. For example last week a few of our guardians tried different build tweaks and weapons vs dagger/dagger elementalists. We lost all matches except one against them but we learned a lot.
Mostly Fight Club is about fun. Lots of funny things always seem to happen, and it never gets old being able to hang out and have a laugh with people who you’ve been battling over the entire week.

Have it so mobs don’t leash in dungeons.
Fixed.
PS: To add to that, this is the only game I’ve played where you can “leash” Dungeon mobs (aka out run them so they de-aggro). Kind of silly if you ask me.
This would be a cool solution, although it could make some parts people already don’t skip harder. In my experience, GW2 dungeons are some of the coolest single group content in any MMO, the skipping takes away from the cool experience.
I also agree that trash mob loot should be looked at. The regular dungeons are not on par with fotm in terms of trash mob loot quality. Also, there’s a wide variation of how much time a dungeon path takes that needs to be looked at. Arah and CoE take a long time even with skipping, that wouldnt be so bad if the loot was better to compensate.
Re other games, EQ1 mobs didn’t leash much, you could make big trains. SWTOR has similar leashing to GW2.

The patch made it so you can get the exact ring you want and the infused version of it once you’ve spent enough time in fractals. True there’s RNG on the mist essences but if you’ve done 100 fractals you’ll definitely have some.
10 Jade Maw kills lvl 10+ you can buy an ascended ring.
ascended ring + 5 vials of mist essence + 3 globs of mist essence + 1 shard of mist essence combined in the mystic forge = infuse your ascended ring.

I’m interested how people rank the difficulty/arduousness of lvl 20+ fractals. Here’s my ranking:
1. Cliffside. Many ways to fail, and by far the longest path.
2. Dredge. Final boss isn’t really that bad but the journey…
3. Grawl. Final boss = glass cannon filter
4. Asura. Annoying more than difficult.
5. Svanir. It’s all about the elemental boss
6. Ascalon. Not that bad.
7. Jade Maw. Agony resist check.
8. Swamp/Mossman. First part can be tricky but nice how short this one is.
9. Water/Dolphin. Final boss is easy, just takes a long time. Getting thi

I’ve seen infused rings and fractal wep skins drop on 20, unless something was recently changed they still should.

DC’s have affected me probably 10 times. They’ve caused literally hours to be wasted. Last night was the worst on yet:
Fractal 22
1. Grawl
2. Dredge
3. Cliffside
Party member DC’s during Cliffside. We keep going but get wiped at the third set of symbols and the party ends up giving up. 2 more hours down the tubes… This is by far the most aggravating bug I’ve encountered since playing this game at pre-release. I am really hoping there’s a fix for it on Saturday.

Props to the Darkhaven defenders who stayed up late and held Dreadfall Bay in DB Borderlands until after 3AM last night, when somehow we still led in potential points! Sometimes playing latenight against a server like DB who has a strong nightcapping contingent can be a little discouraging, but last night it sure was fun!
We held on tenaciously and made them pay for every step, even Bluevale Supply, which withstood repeated raids and only fell against the second zerg that hit it after 2AM (it was the flame ram at the gate that was the secret…)
Hats off to DB as well who laid down a methodical siege and weren’t afraid to throw the kitchen sink of siege at us (against our kitchen sink of defensive siege). As I died on an arrow cart in the Lord’s room it was nice to see people giving each other props in team chat on a job well done.

Bump. Can we get a status update? 3 weeks since this bug was identified, and it’s probably the most severe one.

Tweak incentives.
-Scale the boss chest based on how much content is completed. There is so much content-skipping in dungeons right now, this would be a nice incentive to run a path as intended.
- Harder explorable paths could have better rewards. Variety is desirable, especially when reward is commensurate to effort. Right now there are many examples of incentive being out of whack— some of the easiest paths in game are the most rewarding, which means some other dungeons/paths are ghost towns. Fix rewards and e.g. find people excited to take on Giganticus because he drops phat lewts and Arah is 80 tokens/ path! I think this philosophy would work in Fractals too. Cliffside is a nice design but it’s the booby prize right now bc it takes more than 2x longer for no additional benefit in terms of reward.

It’s too bad our prime times are different, only a few large battles with numbers parity. It’s frustrating bc strat doesn’t really have much impact on PVDoor or when a team’s defending a keep with outmanned buff and can see 12 unused siege sitting around. Certainly makes me muse about how powerful a “Dragonhaven Peaks” server would be
On the other hand this matchup may be encouraging more 3-way dynamic than I’ve seen in other match ups, which is at least interesting. And I feel like my server DH is maturing a little bit, different guilds are working together better and I’m seeing smarter play in general (with the exception of Sunday night when everyone seemed to be in EB jump puzzle, no outmanned buff, while green keep was under siege—defended by literally 5 ppl O_o)
See you all next week! And considering we’re all getting to know each other so well, we should plan for a big Fight Club next week. One that goes late so the DB prime crew doesn’t miss out…

This is the Giganticus Lupicus of fractals, especially once you get to 20 and above. I wish there were some upgraded loot or something to reflect the fact that this fractal is the hardest and it takes more than twice as long as some other fractals.

Questions about the daily chest:
- Does it only happen the first time you fight Jade Maw that day, no matter what FOTM level?
- Does the bonus chest for the ascended ring only happen on the 10-11 run or could you get it for example from the 12-13 run if that’s the first time you did Jade Maw that day?
-Is there more than one daily chest i.e. one for each tier?
Guardian – Commander – Officer of Rethesis [RE] Tarnished Coast
In WVW most guardians spec bunker because we are most viable that way. Our health pool sucks if we don’t wear a bunch of vitality. We lack movement speed and ranged damage so our best place is in the thick of the fight, thus vit and toughness make a lot of sense.
I’ve tried hybrid and support. Hybrid doesn’t have enough survivability (IMO) and support hurts a lot in the badge department.
Also re: support I just have to complain here, why does the elementalist heal for more than twice a guardian on traited dodge roll? A dagger/dagger elementalist kicks the crap out of all guardian builds.

This just happened to my group tonight. First time I’ve ever seen this bug and I’ve probably done the Howling King path 10 times.
Guardian – Commander – Officer of Rethesis [RE] Tarnished Coast
we still have time to make it a 3 way tie!! O.o
You’ll need to get the 7 Maguuma who were running around in Darkhaven Citadel to help if you want to make it a tie.

I’ve seen this at all three keeps on the borderlands for about a week now (enemy NPCs spawning in owned keeps). If you don’t have someone watching the altar, the enemy NPCs will break the altar and cause your orb to reset. Would be a good idea to report it as a bug if you haven’t already.
Guardian – Commander – Officer of Rethesis [RE] Tarnished Coast
We are seeing enemy NPCs spawn in keeps that we own (Darkhaven). I have seen guards and even enemy veteran orb protectors. They can break the altars and cause orbs to reset if the orb isn’t constantly watched. I have screenshots and have reported this as a bug.
Guardian – Commander – Officer of Rethesis [RE] Tarnished Coast
Submitted 2 bugs with screenshots re: this. Ran 3 exp modes today and tokens/silver diminished each time:
Run 1: CM Butler – 60 tokens
Run 2: CM Seraph – 45 tokens
Run 3: AC Rumblus – 30 tokens
These are the only dungeons I’ve ran in the last 2 days. As I understand from patch notes, each run should’ve awarded 60, no?
