you guys are completely missing the point.
the orders(whispers, priory, vigil) have vendors that sell gear with stats that are only good for certain professions. if you are not one of those professions you will not want that gear. without a way to see what gear you will have access to before joining you can easily make a mistake you will regret and end up being stuck with vendors with gear you dont want. i.e. people like you two joining for cosmetics will end up with stats that are either useless or not very desired by your profession. transmutation stones are not going to suddenly give you access to another orders vendors.
So you came across the event where you get to pick which Order you are in, you think
You really like the idea that your warrior uses a sword and is like an assasin
“my person is a shady person, im going to pick order of whispers!”
Then, you join up go to vendor and see…. condition+ armor and weapons?!
Im telling you guys now, before you pick your order consider really hard the following;
your vendor will sell stuff suited for certain classes and not others.
I made a HUGE mistake of picking The Priory as a mesmer.
Every single piece of equipment or weapon has +healing on it
That means my easy to get end game equipment is practically useless to me. Mesmers have a grand total of 0 healing skills.
From what i understand from my play group, order of whispers has the good condition damage stuff. from my own experiance the priory has +healing on everything(good for water elementalists and guardians), and the vigil has the good
bash em up stuff.
Keep this in mind when picking which order you are joining. While it is too late for me
to pick the order i would rather have had, i hope i can help at least 1 person who would have other-wise picked an order and ended up regretting the decision based on the equipment. If you are so hardcore in your RP you don’t mind then more power to you, but i know for myself and a lot of other players once you see that equipment you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole its an instant regret.
After scouting around with Google I’ve seen the general consensus is no one has yet to figure out a way to change the Order you are in or buy from the other vendors. One person has even allegedly confirmed your Order choice is permanent from a Guildwars staff. IMHO Arena Net should let you change orders at level 80 or some how let the player know this will effect the equipment they will have access to at the end of the game.
Item is still in my invetory. not super high priorty bug but i made an item in the mystic forge that is a pants item worn on legs, has a picture of a glove.

Happen to come across this.
http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx
it comes from the www.fbi.gov site, just look up internet complaint on the sites search if you dont trust the link i put. Under "Other Identifiers about the Individual/Business that victimized you " it has a place for IP address. Remember unauthorized log in attempts? Time to put that i.p. to good use.
Keep in mind since its the fbi they WILL ask for your real name and address etc.
Maybe if enough of us complain to the fbi we can make a difference, dont know until we try but i for one know i am definately filing a complain against the ip’s involved. I havent even lost anything but im gonna try my best to make sure it doesnt happen to me or some other paying guild war customer.

my question is, if you get unauthourized attempt does it mean they have your password? or are they trying to brute force it. to me an attempt does not mean “hey someone is logging in as you” it means “hey someone is TRYING to log in as you.” I let the attempts go for a couple of day and they havent taken anything off my characters or otherwise altered my account. but now after reading the forums i have now changed my password and email just in case.
also the possibility of me having a key logger is 0% and let me explain why.
less than a week before guild wars 2 comes out i dropped my laptop and borked the HD. bought a new HD put a fresh install of windows on it. and i have only installed ONE program, guild wars 2. have i installed anything else since then? hell no gw2 is out, this is all i am doing atm.
if possible can a gw staffer please answer the following.
If i get an email similar to this.
“A login attempt from the following location is currently awaiting your authorization.
Address: 123.161.142.224
City: Xuchang
Region: 09
Country: CN"
Does that mean they have put in my username and password and just waiting for some fool to click authorize in the email? or does it mean they attempting to guess my password? This is important to know because it helps me guage what is compromised. I am not going to go through and change my passes and emails on everything everytime some clown is trying to brute force my arena net account, but if they actually have my password it would be nice to know and it would help me go through other stuff that they could have access to or found a way to get the password with, so you could see how it would make a big difference knowing which. I would appreciate it if only a GW2 staffer answered this as i do not want to take advice of joe schmo forum tech support. While i appreciate the effort to help i have also worked in the IT field for many years and would like to base my action/reactions on official answers only.
Also for consideration to the GW team, you guys should just region lock china out until they get their own version to play. 95/100 attempts i have seen all over the forums and the rest of the net say CN region, and a few from mexico.

while i have not been banned for any offensn i really wish they were a tad more lenient with the language bans. for one there IS a swear filter, two, you can easily ignore someone(did it a few times my self). reporting should cost you silver, that way you really think about it before reporting.
