Great reset after a long 2-3 weeks slacking. Alot of fun, and that Durios defense of 20 VcY agaist 60+ was amayzing, Wish we had of recorded that now.

We all know that’s not even close to the numbers, especially having encountered VcY on our own at Woodhaven with our 5 guys, we know you had more than 10. Numbers were pretty much equal in the initial bay push (the only one I was present at as I can’t stand zergs).

Doesn’t really matter who blobbed who, people are free to bring as many or as few as they want it’s World v World for a reason. Just somewhat silly, and pointless, to exaggerate just for boosting ones ego.

Personally I miss the days when 30~ people was “Oh **** they’ve got everyone…” and not the standard group size.

Are raid started 8pm CET, We had 15 members on Teamspeak, Around 9pm CET we moved up to 17 on TS. Started to drop to 10 around 10.30pm CET and when GH made there push on RoS BL around 11pm CET we were 10 VcY on Teamspeak.

Wasn’t really complaining about blobs, It was fun. Anyhow, We should be more active next week

Eh?! We took bay after several pushes burning your supply at both bay and hills, and in bay there was a several minute long fight as your whole group waypointed in. It certainly wasn’t PvD.

And as someone still running in your bl right now, it’s not PvD now either – you guys have some groups still running and making things hard.

It’s just gone midnight so primetime ending now, but it’s been a fun and tough night.

Think you guys are still pretty certain to win but it’s nice it’ll be close-ish going into the final day.

Decided to show GH we can stop whining and man up in a coordinated server-wide event with MM golems and commanders. Great fun has been had, lootbags have been farmed and points have been taken. 4,5k to go

I have this issue as well as other members of my guild in the UK.

I’ve noticed that it occurs on my server Underworld after around 6 PM BST.

I want to highlight a method I’ve been using to circumvent this for other users: If you use the guest functionality to guest on a different (and perhaps lower population server) it seems to be completely remove the lag. I have had luck choosing Gunnar’s Hold as a guest server where I’m finding no lag at all during game play.

I do see there is actually lag whilst I am typing to my guild though, which I suspect is hosted on a different server anyway (chat lag seems to be completely independent to skill/movement lag).

In the interest of players providing more information to the Guild Wars 2 staff, you can monitor the lag by using the Windows program resmon.exe (it comes with Windows 7) and choose Gw2.exe under the Network tab. I wonder if we will be able to highlight a common remote IP address range or so by collaboratively providing this information.

Tried this, However doesn’t really help me as i play 90-95% of the game in WvW. There was no lag for about 10-15mins, but did come back.

Completely unacceptable now Anet, This has been going on for too long. It’s even worse today with 1-2 mins of skill lag. Chat works fine, Other Games work perfectly fine online. Nothing has been done about this at all.

We can’t even go near a keep on RoS BL without getting a crash. Just crashed again on GH BL…. Fun fun fun.

Your core players want as every server does, that is to win alot and rank up as much as possible, unfortunately for them your majority of bandwagon guilds don’t really give a fig about taking towers or watching the points, they are here for one reason and one reason only, and that is to farm WXP/loot bags and be able to have as much open field PvP as possible when they want without having to join a queue for it.

I presume when you’re talking about bandwagon guilds you are talking about VcY and other guilds who recently joined RoS.
We do give a dam about scores and taking points, We like open field fights, and some of them are best obtained though trying to take keeps and towers, So in no way do we avoid trying to take points, and focus on open field fights.
Tbh, VcY would of never moved to another server if it wasn’t for the problem of SFR after the free transfers and pugs started to ruin SFR. It’s rebuilding now what is great to see and got some of the guilds back. VcY scouted many servers, and decided upon RoS for many reasons, but sadly Anet scoring system is a bit silly, but we will push to move up another tier as i know it must be as boring and lame as it is for us right now.

Thanks for the fights HoT Today, Thankfully we finished just before the servers went down, I understand there was a bit of confusion for the first fight, We’ve never used that way to count down for a GvG, but actually it worked very well.

Final score was VcY 5-7 (As i can’t count, And completly forgot) – 0 HoT, Was good fun though and gave us a chance to test our new recruits and some new specs for mesmers since the confusion nerf. Thanks for the fights.

P.S. I extend an offer to any developer working on wvw willing to do so, to come run with our guild one night on EU, to see the game and how we play it from our perspective. I genuinely believe that devon’s approach of wvw is so disconnected from how WvW is played because at best all I see is developer’s running in pug zergs than I remember steam rolling back when I played against SoR on NA. When the developers balance Spvp, they ask the good players and play with the good players. When I played GW1 the devs there did the same and I have played with Isiah before and discussed the game based on what he saw playing with us. But the current dev approach to wvw is so casual and there is no hands on experience of how wvw should be played aside from some ideology that they have in their heads which is flawed.

As Dis (Toxicthrash) says, we had a blast in RoF Hills last night, fighting VcY whilst trying to break in to Hills defended by RoF. We were sandwiched a few times, held our own okay, but VcY definitely got their revenge later on after much persistence.

And props to VcY again for that treb and cata fun – we were all chuckling away on Mumble when you started throwing cows at us.

We are really looking forward to fighting you guys again next week, and its a great shame your server will be leaving us (or we will be dropping down) in the weeks following.

VoTF was a surprise to us in more ways than one.

I’ve got to say props to CHvc, Wensday is usually a slack day for us and we wern’t as many as you guys.

But honestly since we’ve moved down to t8/7 we haven’t gone up agaisn’t a more organised guild. We were poor honestly last night and you wiped us a few times, One of the very few times i’ve atually had to repair.

Props to you guys, You’re Warbanner spam on your warriors was great to see, ressed half your raid up after one of our pushes on you guys. Was great too see.

It’s actually pretty annoying to see such a stupid and horrible move by Arena Net, Seafarers Rest has been a lot of guilds home for a while, and we’ve tried to build a wvw community around it while keeping guilds Independence from the “Blob”, The only server i’ve seen do that is Piken Square.

It’s horrible to see such work been spat on by Arena Net, What shouldn’t of been put on the list in the first place. A Medium server with #1 in EU and a solid and stable community of like minded guilds been set back weeks because they did this.

I’d really like to know Anet thinking behind allowing free Transfers to our server. Please Devon, Enlighten me why you did this.

As for SFR it’s a rebuilding process for us now, It’s set us back weeks.

Wierd, a working colleague of mine currently playing on SFR would say that the words of this “1 person” are nearer from reality than yours… He’s basically a pick up (he doesn’t like playing in guild), always follows the bus, and keep being flamed for being a useless PU, and he’s getting often invited to leave WvW because 1 place for him == 1 place less for someone from a WvW guild.

Tell him to join my raid then. I will teach him what to do, we will share proper builds, tell him what gear he needs to acquire. Let him come to us and have some fun on TS.

I honestly find you quite funny. You don’t like how we run as a server, Go ahead join Desolation or VZ. The only toxic thing about SFR is players with your kind of attitude, who decide there to good and have there head stuck up there own kitten to work with other players. No where has anyone said pugs are crap, we have plenty of pugs who join the teamspeak and have a great time and our actually good players.

The teamspeak is there so players like yourselves can join guilds who are raiding on the borderland and have a better idea of what we are trying to accomplish on the borderland. If you don’t want to fair enough, but you’re only handicapping the server and yourself, and taking up space for another pug who is willing to help and join other people on TS.

You seem to have the idea that we try to recruit small guilds/pugs by forcing them to join the how you like to say it “Big Pro Guilds” What is completely laughable. Never have any guilds tried to do this at all. We have plenty of pugs and small guilds who join the Teamspeak day in day out and have fun, never have they been pressured into joining a guild.

And for you infomation these “pro pvp guilds” that you condescend and call them toxic have done a hell of a lot to get this server to tier 1 and built the community we’ve had since launch, and then to be called toxic by a person who refuses to help is laughable. Do us a favor move to Desolation, i’m sure you only hopped over here when you saw we were winning the tier and wanted some easy wins.

I’m sure IRON would more than welcome the extra fodder to the blob.

Earlier today I was going to answer ethier with rather long and boring post, but didn’t get around sending it during the day. Seeing it was already discussed, I’ll try to be brief.

So we have one server (VS) that was dealing with this issue from the get go and their solution to it (that was working so far) is to thrive on, embrace and foster hordes of Mr. Pugs with things like propaganda, propagating “Vizunah spirit” thing and what not (I’m actually do not know specifics, but can imagine). This of course was in turn shaping the whole WvW community. VS themselves agree that they are mostly pugs with pug commanders and just a couple of big guilds. A lot of small guilds though do things that are vital to the score like timer-capping, supply ninjas etc.

Now, we have another server that was hit by “War Z” and took different stance: “You are useless and not welcome unless you prove otherwise. Here’s how the game is played here and you will obey or else”. I wonder btw what follows this “or else”.

It will be interesting to watch the story unfolding but I’m not sure the way SFR WvW community is heading is sustainable. Not to say if it is healthy and constructive given the lack of in-game leverage and/or restrictions in GW2 that one would probably need to pull this off.

Well, seems like I’ve managed to come up with long and boring post anyway

How anyone from another server like Desolation can go on about how we don’t embrace the pugs, When IRON have closed off meetings with a select few guilds before reset night and not letting randoms join is quite funny to me. Not saying ours is right or wrong. We are willing to help and train pugs if they are willing to join our community, We don’t ask for them to join on of the “Bigger Guilds” at all.
