I’ve played as a Guardian for a very long time. Then one day I met a thief with the absolutely coolest armor pieces I’ve ever seen. It was a mix of Whisperer gear and WvW armor, so I decided to enroll a thief myself.

It took me a while, and my lack of ambitions eventually had me delete the character… Until I once again decided to have at it. So I started roaming the forums, reading miles and miles of text to learn more about the play style. And here I am today (currently lvl40), very satisfied with what I’ve made my thief into… I just wish I hadn’t deleted the first character lol.

Now, since no one seems to be as super smart as you are who apparently knows what to do without having to read anything, please do tell me how to figure out what to do without there being any good source of information.

The weapon skins with eyes are THE weapon skins for this story. Kind of logical if you think about it.

I can’t exactly remember where this is, but it’s somewhere in eastern Kryta I think. So, there is this scrit that constantly goes:
“Share tasty beer, yes?” And it just goes on and on and on and on about sharing that kitten beer. NPC conversation loops should REALLY have the timer extended.

As topic states I’m looking for people to complete the Lost & Found and Secret Contact achievements. I really hate exploration achievements so running with a few people might lessen the agony.

The only requirement is that you are above level 30.

I will offer 50 silver to each of the four adventurers who tags along for the quests (first come, first served).

Partners? Friends? Really..? Sure if younger sibling compromises your account lol. The other two are just out-right ridiculous examples. If you have siblings, which I do not (thus not counting it as a factor), then hide the notes? There are a million ways to hide them or make them understandable to no one but yourself.

Using nothing but a simple sentence takes less than half a minute for a dictionary cracker to break. Just saying.

I’m working towards getting the T3 heavy for my warrior and I definitely don’t wanna drop that kinda gold into a broken piece of ridiculously expensive armor.

God no, don’t do this. The only thing you’ll achieve is forgetting your password and making it a major annoyance to type it, any good brute force tool (e.g. John the Ripper) doesn’t care about 1337 speak if the DB should ever get compromised. Just use a long password or better a sentence, about 20 characters are sufficient, but keep it reasonable.

You find it hard to put a post-it on the side of your computer screen? And security always outguns annoyance. Dictionary hacking breaks down a sentance in less than ten seconds. You can actually find articles about hackers using multiple graphic cards to amp up hack speed. Using 1337 speak sure as hell doesn’t hurt, especially when it’s combined with the actual letters i.e. l3t7Ers.

Marnick, I would definitely understand that if we lived in separate households, but since we live together and play on the same computer sharing an account isn’t really the same thing… However, having more than one account on one computer could be suspicious!

I think all of us has experienced this:

Using a leap-, or rush skill to escape from a sticky situation (or just speeding up the travel time) – however, little did we know that a (neutral) stag runs just an inch outside of your camera view and – BAM – you effectivly came absolutely nowhere, and now you have an annoying stag chasing after you.

Or, you are using a bow to kite an annoying enemy, and all of a sudden you run past a Moa which happens to be close to the autotarget-arc and bam, you put a needle in its rear end, and it starts chasing after you…

So, what I want is for my character to NOT randomly start attacking other creatures when I’m already engaged in combat with another (not to be confused with NPCs stepping in to line of fire – that’s a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT thing).

Possible solution to this could be to make neutral NPCs non-autotargetable, and to make the attack arc smaller. Instead of autotarget choosing a seemingly random enemy within a 160 degree angle it should take enemies from a 90 degree angle (closer to where you are aiming/looking).

Excellent! Well yeah, that is true. But seeing at it was both of ours first MMO game the hardest struggle was to get to know each and every class. The first 80 character took ages to run, until we got to the point that we understood the game mechanics and can do most things really efficient! We’ll gather a decent score on the new account eventually so I’m not really worried

Email authenticator has been waterproof to me. However, I use a safe email (which isn’t linked or used anywhere but in the game) to make sure that I never get anything from friends or the such. I also change password every week. I would recommend you to do this while making a new password:

Take something that cannot be associated to you in anyway, i.e. a historical event;
The Fall of Sparta – change letters to numbers and symbols.

Due to the discount on GW2 I decided to buy a second account rather than buying gems for character slots (sharing account with the Mrs is getting harder as we both start reaching endgame on all our characters). Is there some way that this might be interprited as botting on Anets behalf?

Currently costs 21.6 gold (this has probably changed).
That’s 540 regular 4 silver picks.
That would require you to mine 54,000 nodes to make up for how much you spent on it.
That ends up being 162,000 pieces of ore.
Good luck ever mining that much, but I bought one anyways :p.

With Odin as my witness I hate you for doing that math. I somewhat suspected that I would come out a loser in this deal, but I neven bothered to do the maths to verify.

Hating thieves is my passion. It is true, I haven’t investigated the class well enough but some day I will! As a passionate hater I would like to be separated from the noobs that simply blame thieves for being OP – they really aren’t. Mostly I find that people just doesn’t know how to play their own classes, i.e. if you solo roam a necro you are just gonna have to suit yourself.

I hate you thieves, but I love our incredibly engaging battle! I run a somewhat thief-nightmare guardian – tougher than an overcooked rack of lamb, and too stubborn to ever give up.

FYI, I’m not selling myself out to be Zeus, I’ve died, and I’ve run crying to the nearest keep. I just don’t see the point in raging! Let’s just keep the hate on passionate hate-love-kinda level :]

Basically, go for Icelandic names – plain and simple. Any other nordic language is fine too :] Personally, I went with the Icelandic version of one of Odin’s Valkyries (Hildr)!

Then compare that to a subscription game like EVE online….constant bug fixes are the norm, anything broken or bugged is patched and fixed almost immediately, as well as the constant free content upgrades…this is required to keep newer and older players in a the game and paying.

Its all about the money and what is profitable, nothing else.

Erm… Are you comparing a £15/month game to a pay-for-once game? And you call it free upgrades? Get out of here, please.

There aren’t many bugs, and who even reads descriptions and hints after 8 months? Who even thinks that an entire company is soley dedicated to bug-fixing?

Personally I think they lose way more on not realeasing new content than adjusting small numbers and pieces of text.

At release this game was like walking around at home with loose sweat pants and no underwear – you could do pretty much whatever you wanted. Whereas now they have pulled out the whip to make us wear a kittened tuxedo!

Sure, bots are a huge problem, but why shouldn’t I be able to run the same loop to farm my own materials due to DR? Find a better solution.

Why are we not allowed to play dungeons however we choose to? And why on earth are we not allowed to farm them if we would want to? From 60 tokens to 20 is just friggin ridiculous.

The list of “can’t do”s are growing by the minute. All I’m seeing is how I’m constantly being forced to play in a matter I never intended to and do not really want to either.

I don’t understand you people to be very honest. Standing on a perfectly well placed ledge is called cheating? There is no cheating nor glitching in dropping from a stair down to a ledge where the boss can’t reach you – that is called a strategy (rather dirty one if anything). A glitch is where you seek your way through a map or something that is OBVIOUSLY not intended to be performed. A bug is something that causes and unpredicted out-come. Let’s keep these expressions apart from now on, okay?

I don’t like glitchers, and I don’t see any good reason as to why I should subdue to it. However, you people frighten me when you start to pull up reasonable things as “glitches” – again I don’t perform this strategy when I’m in AC. Walking straight through a wall is an obvious glitch. HOWEVER standing on a random place is NOT a glitch and NOT a viable cause to ban someone. It is frightening to not know what you can and can’t do since you people define something as simple as gaining ground a glitch and viable cause to ban.

Just for the sake of discussion:
whatever happened to “play however you chose to”? All I see is how more and more people are getting herded into this huge chunk of gray goo. “That is not what we meant with play however you chose to, we meant that you should chose to play like this.” Very, very disappointing.
