Well my experience with core only is that people are telling me to go back to PvE. Builds used to be more diverse. The elites are way stronger and only have 0-2 viable builds.

I’ve always considered PvD and tapping as unintended things that have since become a feature. I’m not sure if I’d want to make roamers even less useful.

However… There could be WP disablers working in similar manner as siege disablers work. They’d cost supply and work for a limited time. They wouldn’t affect emergency WP.

imho DBL is about immediate fights and less about long-term strategy (like ABL was). My preference is strategy over fights, but there are people who prefer fights over strategy.

About the new lords: I think they’re meant to mess with attackers when there are actually people defending, so that the attackers can win only if they’re well organized. So, they shouldn’t be annoying and jumping arround unless there’s an actual player defense.

For me, the fun is also about supporting your server with solo actions. Running supplies, scouting, flipping camps, sentries, ticking siege. But it’s just fun if you feel there’re people to support and that there are overt results of your efforts.

Yes, but that’s just from your point of view. From the other side, it means that enemies don’t have a WP mid-way to garri, which makes it harder to navigate the map. If BLs saw actual zerg v zerg battles more, it would have had a greater impact.

In theory, if you lose control of an outer keep, you need to focus on defending gari from that side and have to allow the third side greater freedom, so they get a chance to take their outer keep with a smaller force, while there are blob fights going on between keep and gari on the other side. That’s where those “irrelevant” gari side towers come to play, since they don’t as much actually check land (with trebs aiming at adjacent objectives as it is in EB) as they would support a side’s blob.

The point of insta WPs is that the blob doesn’t need to wait 3 hours to get a WP built, but can immediately start forcing fights. I think it was an attempt by ANet to actually please the WvW community.

Yes, however, they meant the live beta patch notes. It was meant as a contrast to posting it to dev blog.

If at any time during your run your bauble purse is full when you activate a bauble to get it it doesn’t register towards your progress. I had to learn that the hard way. Dulfy’s guide does tell you that at the top, I just didn’t read it.

That may have been the case, since I got the 750 capacity purse after attempting it. I’ll try it again soon and post the result here.

Well they’re not worth keeping for you and they’re very worth keeping for the enemy whose WP is in there. I can see why ANet did what they did, since before you could snowball and fortify all the WPs in your BL and it was harder for invaders to get into the BL. But the overall value of the objective has lowered and people don’t want to fight over it. It should rather give some advantage to the BL defender rather than the ability to use the actual WP.

Yeah I guess they would. My point is for people to have an active part in selecting their current BL, rather than passive approach.

I’ve seen both pros and cons of the Alpines and Deserts and I think it would be nice if the server could just vote-choose what BL they want as their BL for the next week at reset (like in PvP). It’s their BL after all. Besides you can release more BLs later and have them in the BL pool.

I tried Bachelor of Baubles in W1 with Dulfy’s guide and with Ayin Maiden’s vid in both infantile and normal modes and didn’t get it. Betty keeps telling me I missed some. I tried it 3 times total since April 1st. While it is possible I’ve missed some bauble somewhere, after the 3rd run, I’m confident that I haven’t.

There’s a reson why Specializzations are better than the main class (not totally shure about the Berserker XD).

ANet simply want to sell HoT offering something better than the old game version and that “something” is the specializzation system. (more or less the only reason to buy HoT)

So… Gw2 has become P2W?! ^^ Cos atm. it looks like that. If u buy HoT u get access to OP specializations, otherwise u are kitten with core classes, cos they don’t stand a chance against new ones…

That’s how I felt when I started playing again after 1.5 years. I liked GW2, because I paid once and didn’t feel pressured to play, like subscription, and it didn’t have OP shop items like freemiums. Also PvP was normalized. When I was losing I knew it was because of build / skill. But now… I feel pressured into buying HoT, because I don’t stand a chance in PvP with most pre-HoT builds. It has become P2W for me in this matter. Heck, I can’t even use shield generators in WvW. Sometimes it feels that whichever team has more elites wins.

I’d love for Anet to make a pre-HoT PvP room(s) and / or unranked.
1) You get fair ground if you’re on a F2P (or pre-exp GW2) account and just want to try it out without getting rolled over by opponents near to impossible to beat (HoT elite + you’re a newbie at this point)
2) Less “bad” builds in other rooms. People who don’t have HoT will flock to the pre-HoT rooms I believe.
3) Roll out your old builds! I recall PvP being more fun before, but I might just feel like that now, since I don’t have HoT.

Your top 5 priorities for WvW-Overhaul

1) Server loyalty – It’s not good that people leave low WvW populated servers to tier 1-2s. From the other side: there’s no real competition or bragging rights if all you ever do is face the same two servers over and over when you know that they just have more / less people, with some weeks’ exceptions where you go up and get beaten into not wanting to even play WvW that week (outmatched mostly by numbers sometime during the day / night) – or down to take over the two lower tier servers. The first season WvW tourney (in which I participated daily) has been like that for me. So…

1.a) WvW should not punish people for staying on low WvW population servers. Make matchmaking closer to EotM with balanced color distribution based on population and performance, randomize those weekly to an extent (that can even become a league, where you have to co-op and coordinate cross-server, instead of just different enemies to fight, you get different allies).

1.b) Also no WvW-based server bonuses, that just adds to migrations and desertions. If you want to keep them, base them off a guild’s or player’s WvW participation or keep them with the EotM color’s points instead of server as the defining factor (if 1.a comes into effect.)

2) WvW / PvP / PvE consistency – WvW shyly seeps into PvE, but not really. Either…

2.a) Integrate WvW with PvP and PvE. As in (certain / ranked) PvP matches contributing to PPT as well as successful clearing of challenging PvE content (raids / fractals).

2.b) Isolate WvW from PvP and PvE. No PvE server-wide rewards based off PPT accumulation. No PvE in WvW maps. Guild upgrades / WvW consumables / Ascended equip attainable from within WvW. For example by defending your guild’s claimed objectives. Possibly reward tracks like in PvP.

3) Ranks – WvW ranks were good for a time, but now virtually everyone has more points than they can spend on traits. Either add more traits (like increased magic find for killing players, increased efficiency of stability when zergs collide, reduced effects of enemy CC in zerg battles, etc.) or make the WvW ranks into unlocks and let players choose which traits to use for the day / week from a limited pool (say – 6 trait trees or 30 trait pips).

4) Cleaning up – Greater focus on fixing minor map problems, such as glitches, siege placement revamping, siege range and positioning possibilities revamping based off players’ experience over the long three years.

Char name: Rosaria Scarlet
Server: Tarnished Coast
Guild: Kiss Kiss Bang [BANG], Guild Commendations [GC]

Problem: Ever since I used the Evon Gnashblade representation button, I’m unable to represent a guild other than one (Guild Commendations [GC]) of the four I’ve joined on that one character. Other characters are unaffected at this moment.
I can stand down, but when I click the represent button, nothing happens, except for when I try that one guild it works with anyway (90% of the guild wasn’t representing at the time I tried).
It has been like this ever since the several updates that implemented it on 26th. At this moment the button buff has expired, but nothing has changed.
Leaving the guild and getting reinvited doesn’t help.

Additional Info:
I play from Europe and joined friends who play on this NA server. I was not guesting anytime around or ever since.
