That’s the problem with RNG procs with long CDs…the chances of it proc’ing when it’s actually useful are so slim, it’s not worth taking.

As far as I know, SoS will NOT refresh or increase duration on an existing swiftness boon.

And when you drop it, you’ll ready your weapon. If anything is within range, you may start auto-attacking. Happens pretty regularly for me when running through mobs in Orr.

Things keep on keepin’ on. Thanks to everyone who continue to fill our ranks with like-minded folks who are here to have a good time. The Halloween event was awesome, and it was great always having people around to do the activities with.

Hanging out in LA, listening to all the people spamming for MK groups made me happy I’m part of the U…it was a rarity to spend more than a few minutes in guild chat rounding up a grouping of people to go take a few shouts at the Mad King.

So, if you’re out there and find yourself getting bored with GW2 because you’re tired of doing everything by yourself, look us up!

I have both a level 80 Warrior and a level 80 Guardian. Both are great classes, have great survivability and bring a lot to the table for groups. A lot of my guildies asked me why I leveled two of the “same thing” as my first 80’s, and I can whole-heartedly say they both play extremely different, despite looking very similiar on the surface.

Eveningstar’s first post was dead on as it relates to Guardians. There is a ton of survivalability built into that class, despite having the lowest base health tier.

But there’s no point in arguing which is better or more survivable, Warrior vs Guardian, because they’re both great classes. I’ve surpirsed people with both classes in terms of situations I’ve survived and damage I’ve done. It’s a great feeling to hear someone in a group say, “Whoops, guess we wiped, huh?” and to reply back, “Nope, still fighting, get back here!” And I’ve had the same experience on both Warrior and Guardain.

tl;dr – Guardian – Fantastic class. Warrior – Fantastic class. Each plays differently, but you can’t go wrong with either.

And people wonder why pugs get a bad reputation.

Why not include a wardrobe in home instance, where you can store different clothing pieces, similar to the PvP Locker? It might even be a step towards getting people to hang out in cities other than Lion’s Arch, and making your home instance something people actually go to.

Hah, you should be on SBI kicking it in the top tier. With the community we have going, I think SBI is in it for the long-haul. We’re anxiously awaiting Anet to shut down free server transfers so we don’t get stuck going up agains the “flavor of the week” server…use to be HoD, now it’s JQ…who’s next, right?

Over the weekend we were able to pull together the last few gold for our first commander. During prime time, we usually have 10-20 people in WvW, so this is going to be an awesome way to keep ourselves even more organized.

I predict Uey participation in WvW going through the roof in 3..2…1…

Someone just lost hundreds of silver pieces by vendoring all his crafting mats because he didn’t realize he had to pick up his trade profits from the trading post…

Rocked out in the Eternal Battlegrounds last night. Had about 20 people holding off zergs from BR and IoJ a couple times during the night, being able to capture, fortify and hold a couple towers on the front lines. We kept IoJ busy for about three hours trying to take a supply camp, and a couple towers.

Lots of kills, experience and loot earned by all…well, except for those poor guys on the other realms

I can resist adding that while joking about guild incentives to keep people involved in recruting, the idea of mailing cookies came up…followed by the idea of a cookie bikini.

I’m proud to say that in our Kitchen forum, there’s now an indepth discussion going on about how to construct a cookie bikini, complete with three or four members making attempts at it.

I guess I’m really try to emphasize that there’s more to the U than just GW2.

A lot of armchair economists here…I’m no different, but…

I would be extremely interested to see what would happen if Anet opened up the gems:gold to the free market, allowing players to buy and sell gems directly. Let the market decide what the exchange rate is between gold and gems, not some ambigious algorithm.

They can then focus their efforts on killing bots, stopping account hacks and other illegal means of producing gold, while allowing players to legitimately trade gold. The other enourmous benefit to this is the system for gold stays relatively closed. The only gold that gets traded is gold that was created in game (through ideally legitimate means). That should remove any negative effects on the ecomony (IE bread selling for 1,000 gold) since the supply of in-game gold will still be limited to what players can produce. With the current system, gold is literally produced from thin air as people trade gems for gold.

We’re on Stormbluff Isle. We’re a gaming community with a focus on a lot more than just GW2. Currently, we have over 250+ members, with a regular night seeing any where from 30-50 people. I have yet to log in, even at random hours and seen less that 15 people playing. We cover basically every time zone, from Japan to Europe to the US and back again.

I’m leveling up an alt, and had the pleasure of running both AC and CM this week with guildies. For some reason, I remember those being really hard on my first character, but we breezed through them this time around.

If you’re tired of pugging, or getting halfway through a dungeon and having people bail, it’s time you looked us up.

We also have a lot of level 80’s running explorable modes, too…it’s the perfect combination of getting things done AND having a good time doing it, because honestly, if it’s not fun, why play?

They shouldn’t be working in PvP. If they are, you should report it. Arenanet has been pretty clear that any “boost” stuff you can buy in the cash shop should not affect PvP.

Remember, we’re not just for hardcore level 80’s.

We still have a wide range of levels, and community members are picking up GW2 everyday. We’ve started organizing more events for our members, most of which are “come one, come all”.

Mondays we’re doing Zonemaggedon events, where we’ll grab a zerg of people to try and 100% a zone. Currently, it’s Charrmaggedon!

Wendesday Nights are Whiskey Wuvwuv, where all members are encouraged to come out and get a piece of action in the Mists.

Thirsty Thursdays are here to help get as many Ueys together for sPvP action. Last time we did this, we had an entire room with nothing but member on member action. Good times and hilarity ensued.

This Saturday, we’ll working on an organinzed dungeon delve night, for people to get into or get caught up on their dungeons.

And every other Sunday, in true NFL fashion, is Naked Asuran Keg Brawls.

So if you’re looking for a guild that takes advantage of all the different activities GW2 has to offer, look no further.

I think the idea in beta was that at one point during the tutorial fight, you WERE going to get downed, to show new people the system. Guess that went out the window, eh?

Oh, and just so all you potential applicants know…we WANT you to get your guild invite as soon as possible so we can start playing together. You don’t have to wait for approval on your application before joining us.

How else are we going to find out if we’re right for each other? If you’re looking to go through six rounds of interviews prior to even getting to play with the guild, that’s not us!

And all U members can invite to the guild…so check out the website, or ask around in Lion’s Arch or Divinity’s Reach…we usually have some one hanging out.

Short answer: Yes. VS is a great talent and well worth the 30 points.

Longer answer: +healing adds 80% to these heals. Typically, most level 80’s will heal for around 1200ish per shout. Adding in +healing will probably push that up to 1800 or so. If you want to go a more supportive route, you can look for Shaman gear to get +power/condition/healing. But, being able to heal your group for around 1200ish three times every 20 seconds is pretty significant, so if you’re afraid you’ll hurt your DPS, you don’t necessarily need +healing gear.

And yes, if you’re going to focus on condition damage, you should pick up +condition over +power, although +power will still help with all your regular hits, so I wouldn’t necessarily avoid it. Plus, you’ll want some combination of toughness/vitality for dungeons.

Warrior’s Sprint is a 10% boost, so it’s important but may not be noticable, especially when you “slow down” in combat.

Yojack, what are your thoughs on Axe MH, with 25 points in Strenght and using Soldier’s gear for Power/Toughness/Vitality? I’m just spitballing things while I’m bored at work.

Nothing to add here other than I’m thrilled to have picked the same class as Yojack, and I have this thread bookmarked.

If I’ve learned anything about Yojack is that his builds tend towards the practical and actually work, versus other folks who spend a little bit too much time on theory and spreadsheets.

I’ve never touched the warhorn, but I’ve really been looking for a reason to try. Looks like I just found it!

I think this is the guild you’re looking for. We have a large group of members across various time zones, and there’s always something going on, especially at night. And we are an 18+ guild…yes, we like to joke around and have a good time, but there’s a point where you can take things too far into the gutter. Hate speech, racism and bigotry is NOT acceptable.

We’re also a gaming community, and not just a GW2 thing, so there’s more here than just some guys and gals to play one game with.

Woo! Rankings just came out and we’re number 2.

Can’t wait for the weeklong matches to start on the 14th. We’re in the process of building more guild siege equipment and getting more organized in WvW, especially now that a lot of our members are hitting 80, and we have even more who are hungry to get a piece of the action in WvW.

Unrepentant: We’re not just for hardcore 80’s (although we have a bunc). Nice thing is a lot of members are going back, running dungeons and completing zones with people who haven’t leveled quite as quickly.

We had a bunch of people running AC last night, some higher levels, some lower levels, helping members do content. So don’t worry if you’ve been more casual with your leveling, we have lots of people across all level ranges!

We actually have a bunch of Europeans who play in the guild, too…since we’re a community, and not just GW2 focused, we tend to pick up people from all directions. I’m not sure if there’s been a moment since the game launched where the guild or chat was empty.

Plus, I haven’t heard anything from people about playing on the US servers from other locations around the world. Although I heard there might be region restrictions on some of the versions, perhaps?

House, thanks for checking us out. The best thing about the U is we’re a gaming community. It’s more than just playing GW2…there’s other games, other guilds, lots of forum discussions on all sorts of topics, from brewing beer to cooking bacon, Diablo II and the latest Steam sale.

Plus, we’re a casual guild that gets into everything from the silly to the hardcore. Like this Sunday was the first official Naked Asuran Keg Brawl where a couple dozen of us made Asuran alts, and then beat the science out of each other on the ice in Hoelbrak. We also have Wuvwuv Wednesdays where we encourage as many people as possible to pop into the Mists and rampage across the map…well, rampage may be to strong of a word…more like running in one direction (mostly) and hope something falls on our swords.

Things are looking great from a guild infrastructure standpoint, too. We’ve been constantly researching all the upgrades, and will probably have most everything maxed in the next week or so. Then it’s just up to us to constantly research and deploy sweet, sweet bonuses for all the guild members.

We don’t recruit often, but when we do, people hang on our every word – even the prepositions. When we pick up quest breadcrumbs, we use them to make beer. We once had an awkward moment with Lyssa’s twin, just to see how it felt. We can play Monks in Guild Wars 2. NPCs come to us for quests.
