All of the required mats have a chance to drop in wvw or can be aquired through wvw besides the ones that a re refined or purchased. But it will be slow.
Salvage exotics, tower champ bags, castle/keep lord bags and camp supervisors apparently drop something.
I wouldn’t expect to get a ascended weapon drop in wvw…

From what I have read it seems like they will be fairly easy to make compared to legendary weapons. 400-500 crafting probably won’t take that long ( I am concerned about the gold cost of this but I waste a lot of gold). It sounds like we will have good access to t7 mats ( some of which are refined anyways (possibly)).
One major concern for me is that we will need to salvage exotics for a new account bound component. I really don’t see many exotic drops BUT give it a few weeks/months we will all have 300% capped magic find anyway.

Nothing wrong with food in WvW, don’t like diverse builds go SPvP, don’t like +40 duration, run -40 duration.
It’s not hard to use food. I pop food during a fight ALL THE TIME. Press I (default inventory) double click desired foods. Like 1-2 seconds if that.

So the famous perma-stealth build of the Thief, it doesn’t sound that nasty does it?
But under the right circumstances, it is devastating.
Scenario:
- Enemy Zerg rushes in, they all die except a thief. (Outer keep door gets repaired)
- Everyone dead releases except for Mesmer. (At this point, you see it coming)
- Perma Stealth Thief just blinks around in keep until people gives up trying to kill him.
- Thief waits for people to leave, rez Mesmer and then notifies zerg force.
- Zerg force teleport into keep skipping a door.
In this scenario The defenders CHOSE to leave an enemy thief in a tower/keep with a downed mesmer. They deserve to loose it.

But please elaborate. Would it be Pve or some form of living world that required actual players from competing servers to complete some living world objective.
Either would be bad. One adds more pve to already crowded zones. The other would just reward the megablobs and stacked servers even more .
25K kills is 5 maxed slayer awards for the PvE players. Their mobs don’t run away and barely put up a fight.

I see more people running condition removel than condition builds tbh which is why I stopped running conditions myself. Much prefer a tanky dps/brawler style of play (solo top ftw).
Yes i see necros and a few of the perplexity warriors. But in 1v1 situation they are trash.
Cond rangers…still just a ranger. (I don’t rate rangers at all) With mesmer feedback and reflection traits they really are not a problem.
Condition engineer….Seems to be a very rare fight for me.

I play mesmer so either the cond removal mantra or the boon steal /cond removal (forget the name for this). I switch this utility slot a lot on inc, depending on the fight and what they appear to be running.
This is all from the perspective of a roamer. But surely a zerg can spam condition removal as much if not more than a solo roamer or small group. Granted, this would require moderate to high co-ordination.
I started on RoF moved to Deso, went back to RoF.
I can 100% tell you that if you are getting really bad lag in EB then you must be playing on a highly populated server (wvw population ie. MEGABLOBS). Yes it is true that their server/game engine (technical limitations) can’t handle it, but this problem does not exist on “lower tier” servers.
The slayer section of achievements gives 16 AP for 1000 trash kills in pve, so like you can go to crappy zones and kill lvl 10 mobs when you are level 80 and do this easy.
do this 25 times (25000 kills and granted it has to be 25 different types of mob) and you will have 400 AP from something that does not even require thought.
25k kills in wvw should give at least 400 AP. nuff said

Err if you are talking about confusion it has been trash on a mesmer since the nerf.
Haven’t equipped scepter or used any of the utilities that do confusion since the nerf. (on mesmer)
It’s about the warriors plus those new runes atm.

I am wondering about the same thing. Has that living world story finished yet? I was hoping when it ended we would be able to sell them. so I would recommend keeping them for now.

The game is very arcade-like and really lacks depth for players to derive any fun from.
I used to play Minecraft a lot and it made me dream of a WvW game where we could build things and actually fight over meaning resources like gold, wood, stone and food rather than an arbitrary resource called supply.
I dream of servers working together to secure resources, create transport routes to get materials to locations to build massive and sophisticated castles.

If some guy drops 4 items that give Toughness in favour of 2500 hp. Unlucky for him because he will just melt like all the other zerkers out there.
99% of all that have an issue here is the guard offensive and defensive traits or effectively the first 215 ranks on every toon u own unless you want to be sub optimal.
A lot of people (probably myself included) would to a large extent stop shouting about your complete stupidity regarding WXP account/char bound if you just gave every toon an instant 215 WXP points to put into trait or even better.. You just did away with the +power and +HP stack guard traits… Hell you can keep in the +/- damage with guards just dont give the +stacks at the end of the trait line.
100 power/ 100 cond damage really is not that game changing.
2500 Hp, whilst it is very useful, please consider things such as the multitude of siege trait lines that increase siege damage and please consider how 2500 extra Hp compares to all of the extra damage is provided to people through siege. Siege trait lines give people a larger increase in damage than 100 power.
Wxp should not be account bound but I have changed my position on a respec. I think we should now have a respec if only because they enjoy adding new lines every two weeks.

extra abilities for siege and all that random crap like boon removal on cannons. (they all got some bs buff through wxp abilities)
I view wxp as end game character progression. (note character, not account) levels are not account bound. skill points are not account bound. traits are not account bound. wxp should not be account bound.
And before people start the but gw2 is not about power creep or giving 1 player and advantage over another bla bla bla. If that were the case lvl 1 items would do the same as lvl 80 items and the only progression in game would be the aquisition of new abilities.
All wxp abilites give one player an advantage over another player.
I think people just don’t like being made to choose.
This does not prevent the playing of alts.

I would agree with a previous poster that you must be a necro yo.
Considering the amount of conditions a necro can drop on you these days and the addition of the new runes -40% cond duration is fine.
If -cond food was nerfed I would want a similar nerf in +cond duration runes and traits.
Did you know that account bound Wxp does not prevent you playing alts? It is just peoples opinions and attitudes that prevent this.

Probably not but there isn’t anywhere near enough wvw abilities too spend 9945 points (probably never will be) so I wouldn’t worry about it.

I see how siege is situational but when we consider that there are people who will man siege for extended periods (eg. ogrewatch cannon shooting my Brogers), some people are playing on this advantage a lot but no more than I am with applied fortitude. I will also add that a siege user can gain a large advantage over multiple enemies at once whereas my applied fortitude is mostly useless when I fail to notice that zerg charging me down.
I suppose at the end of the day it does come down to play-style/preferences. Personally I don’t think I would max a siege line before I have maxed guard killer and probably the Merc line as well.
I put points into sully speed line (I forget the name), the 20 sec swiftness is niice but i am a bit of a swiftness junky.

So I need to bring this up because I keep reading crap basically and I want peoples opinions.
I keep reading that the power/cond dmg and vitality stacks are sooo OP and give a massive advantage to vets over new players and that lines like this force players to stick with one character.
I disagree with this completely. I’m not going to lie, they are very useful for roaming and solo havoc (which is what I enjoy doing in game) and they do give an advantage but IMO its not as bad as people make it out to be.. Personally I only play another character because leveling in this game in mind numbingly boring and mesmers are just too much fun.
Lets do a comparison.
Guard lines cost 115 ranks each and give:
2500 hp
100 power
100 condition damage.
These require time to get stacks and are lost on death. Since I run solo I just WP but if a user were in a zerg and got a rev there stacks would be gone and they would have no advantage over any one.
Siege lines cost 75 each and do many more things. Siege might 30 ranks. Siege users have their advantage available all of the time. If they die and get a rev it is strait back on the siege and fire away. Lets take a closer look at the lines.
Cannon:
basic fire removes boons (<- notice plural)
27% damage
more bleed on grape shot
increased radius
increased chill
Ballista:
A whole new ability-spread shot
25% damage
faster bolts
increased range
increased radius
Ac:
Increased range
Increased damage
Increased effectiveness of conditions
Increased radius
New skill (stealth reveal)
Cata:
Damage to walls 20%
Gravel does bleed
Increases radius
Increased damage 25%
New skill (bubble
I’ve just covered what i consider to be the main siege, but treb line is coming and would not be suprised if golem line followed.
I’ve never shot siege in my life so have no idea of base damage values so can’t run any numbers.
As far as I’m concerned these give vet players a huge advantage over new players and considering that people will be in the relative safety of a tower/keep when using siege I would go as far to say that these give and advantage over people using guard stacks.
One thing I will look at later is the damage on the siege. I have a feeling that, for example, a cannon shot with 27% damage increase plus 5% siege might will cause enough extra damage to negate an extra 2500 HP.
In open field combat guard stacks vs. no guard stacks, guard stacks is the kitten. BUT the only people I see with these abilities are solo or in small groups (5 or less) and will usually be fighting outnumbered 1v2 2v3 etc putting themselves at a disadvantage. Oh and one thing about running like this is that some is always shooting a cannon at you.
I will also add that I really don’t see that many people with guard stacks, maybe 1 in 10 people and I have only ever saw one person with both.
Would like some other opinions about this and if some one has already ran some number that would be amazing.

I understand that people want things easy but wxp should be a toon xp measurement not an account wide. If you want an account wide then give the bonus that you can spend to account wide but a level 3/80 necro should not get a level 50 title simply because an alt played more wvw
Its not about wanting things easy, when advanced wxp trait lines offer stat bonuses those who want to play on alts are clearly disadvantaged.
I read this a lot ^, about how a stat bonus offers a big advantage. You do realise that this cost’s 115 points and requires guard kills for stacks. When we consider siege mastery lines these cost 75? and give about 25% dmg increase and in some cases a 4th ability for the siege. Do people not realise that this give people an advantage as well?

I have ran duo with mesmer/thief, me playing mes and friend on thief. Its a great duo but If the mes is not taking much stealth expect to be focused a lot (assuming thief will be perma stealth).
Saying that…thief can also stealth the mes so gg np.
As for two thieves. This would probably be epic fun.

There is exactly the same amount to do on a Friday as on a Wednesday or Monday or a Thursday or a Sunday ( you get my point ) actually kitten it and a Tuesday and a Saturday. With regards to the match up being won in the first few days…..Winning a match up does not mean anything what so ever.

Yes its zerg. vs. zerg.Nothing else.
The people that talk about 1v1, or 1v2-3 only gets fights once every 45 minutes or so. (and thats being very lenient)
even when that is the case, theres a 99% chance that the person that you are fighting against is a very mobile class that will reset/flee the fight at any chance of loss.
There is no strat to this game for wvw or pvp. If you play a non mobile class for the solo game play and pretend being a scout means something then you are screwed. And just by the way, you add nothing to the wvw.
So if you have no interest in zerging, you have come to the wrong game.
