I have 270% MF. I had a really good run of exotics two weeks back where I got about 6 in one day. Thats probably more than I have had drop in my entire time playing WvW.

The description on the wiki says:

""Everytime you kill a monster you roll on a number of tables, inside these tables are different rarity categories. Magic find increases the chances you will get higher categories. For example if there is a 1 in 10 category, and you have 200% magic find you will have 3/10 chances to get that category. This improves not just the rarity of the items you get but can also improve your chances at getting trophies and rare crafting materials like lodestones."

So lets say the catergory for an exotic is 1/100,000 chance, with my (soon to be) 300% MF I have a 4/100,000 chance of getting an exotic. Basically, an unnoticeable difference as far as I am concerned. If we compare lower level things like trophies, salvage scraps, materials and maybe even rares, this is where you get more benefit from your magic find because you are having them drop more frequently. Basically, measuring the success of your magic find on exotics is not the way to do it.

Also, one thing I am interested in is loot bags. MF does not effect the quality of loot in a loot bag, but it does increase the chances of getting a loot bag. I presume this is so for WvW, but I am not certain. I just know this is the case in PvE.

I got 72% now and play mostly WvW. I have noticed little difference. It is like 1 rare a week but my mf is low.

Frankly, I’m against all WXP upgrades. WvW is PvP, not PvE.

WvW is a solid mix of both. Are you saying that you have never took a sentry/camp/tower/keep/castle in WvW? Hate to break it to you but it is pve.

Pretty kitten Op buffs there, what you get for wvw xp should not buff you against other players, the ones that already do were a mistake. I am fine with your siege weapons and such getting better with wvw xp but not your stats or more tools to create gaps between players and make fair fights impossible.

So once again no.

Please explain how you see players getting a buff through siege is acceptable and stat buffs are not? Please consider in yur response the fact that roamers will be fighting 1v2 at least whilst probably getting shot by siege. Please leave your AC and play the game.

Well seeing as conditions are pretty much a huge part of the pvp meta (and I mean pvp in the general sense of the word, not the game mode), I don’t see why you wouldn’t be running condition removals in wvw in the first place. Without sufficient condi removal, you’re pretty much walking free loot bags. If you’re unwilling to sacrifice certain utilities/trait points to have condi removal at hand at all times, you only have yourself to blame when you get melted down by things like confusion. The 4 classes I know well and regularly play (mes, guard, engi, necro) all have sufficient condition removals with several commonly viable wvw builds. I know thief and ele also have plenty of condi removal options. I’ve just never found myself in the position where confusion has become an issue during a fight, but maybe that’s because I haven’t met any good players running them yet.

Too much like common sense. Please take this elsewhere.

Running a few fracs is not grinding. If you had to do fracs 5 hours a day for 5 months to get 1 vial of mist…that would be grinding.

If they ever did add ascended back piece to the WvW laurel vendor I can guarantee that it would still be quicker to run the fracs and buy the mats than it would be to save the x amount of laurels/badges/ectos they would ask for it. And lets be honest they would not make it cheap.

And then ever one would be crying about how laurels are too slow, not alt friendly blah blah blah

So sick of fighting people using these runes. Interrupts are extremely easy to get in this game. Interrupts should have to be used strategically to counter certain key skills (ex. healing skills), but with this rune you get rewarded heavily for chain interrupting your opponents auto-attack. It’s ridiculous and takes no skill.

And why does every class need easy access to confusion? Necros already have access to 11 conditions, why do they have to get confusion on top of all of those??? They already have an insane condi burst. Why does a 700 damage/sec fear need to apply 5 stacks of confusion too?

I agree with this 100%. CVT gear is just mad tbh. It is not a huge issue but lets be honest here….I could run this gear on my confusion mesmer, be tank as hell and put out 3k+ ticks of confusion. If I wanted equal damage from a power based build I would need to drop tankiness for crit dmg/chance. This is why condition builds are kitten .

Edit: I am a firm believer that if you are tank, you are just that, a tank and should deal limited damage regardless of its source.

Also zerging will always exist in this game due to the simple fact that all ppl in that zerg get max rewards.

60 ppl taking a tower should get 1/60 of the reward to reflect upon their 1/60 effort put in. That would end zerging. Would also be funny to see the crying if a change like that was ever made…which it won’t btw.

Basically people cry for change, stuff gets changed then people, sometimes the same people, cry about the changes.

Personally I have always finished, even in a larger fight. I like the 100 % guaranteed kill. To much can happen in the time taken to dps someone to death (depending on numbers tho tbh).

I would like to see more people running quickness for finishing now though

This is exactly what I wanted in WvW…people actually fighting each other. It is great. It is like concentrated roaming…when it is not getting zerged. Hilarious thing is that I went in for a 1v3 against 3 people with +100 stats and they still ran away to a tower. LOL

Stat buff does not bother me at all. If I have it, great better chance of wining a fight 1vx. If I don’t have it I welcome the challenge of defeating players with it.

@ Op you can still cap PPT all you like..and if a +150stat 60 man zerg hits your keep..just build a few more AC, which tbh I thought was the zerg way..you know spam some siege farm some bags, never actually fight people?

Just go do a few fractal runs to get some of the vials of mist to make a back piece. It is not hard. What is hard is getting say 250 armoured scales after that. But creating a back piece this way will be quicker than waiting to get laurels for what ever cost they stuck on them IF the ever added them to wvw vendor.

Having to do any PvE for WvW gear is just lame though. And having to do a dungeon is even worse.

Now with the addition of Ascended Weapons, there is one more piece of BiS gear you can’t get through WvW.

This thought just hit me….

I am sure I read somewhere that WvW meta achievement will need to be completed to get the rewards from the leagues as well as your server wining of course. Now, depending on the nature of these achievements I was thinking about the possibility of denying rewards.

For example, a server gets a series of matches where it basically ROFL stomps its opponents and holds most of the cap points across all maps. Now imagine the meta achievements include capturing keeps etc. If the low population servers simply did not retake any towers/keeps/camps the winning server would then essentially be denied the activities that would gain them their rewards. This would require servers to pretty much do nothing in WvW besides killing players (not a bad thing btw) and most people would probably just carry on as normal.

If this were the case it could even lead to the unstacking of servers.

I know it is just a random thought and will probably never be like that but I would like to see it.

There should be immunity to CC after the effect has wore off. The problem is not fighting against say 1 hammer. It is the fact that multiple hammers can keep someone stunned/ knocked down indefinitely long after someone has used all available stun breakers.

There is already such immunity. It is called stability, read the post above you again

I am talking about actual immunity.
Example: “You have recently been affected by a stun you are immune to stuns for 5 seconds” or whatever…make it a wxp ability with a very high cost.

As some one mentioned above CC has no diminishing returns. Perhaps this should be addressed.

The thing with CC trains is that they are very powerful and effective but also very easy to accomplish.

Oh and AC’s. Imo any siege weapon that has shot that can pass through terrain is just a joke and need removing from the game.

It wont, and shouldnt convince them. Personally I could care less either way about the stat points, though i love the stomp ppt part. However to argue against a WvW development for GvG (ie NOT WvW) reasons, is just not going to work, and it shouldnt. Thats like arguing against a sPvP change for PvE reasons. GvG is NOT WvW, it should not even be considered when making changes and developments regarding WvW. They can go stroke their kitten in the sanctum

Fine, don’t consider it. Plenty of non-GvG players have posted saying they oppose this, mechanics that favor the most populated server in a match are bad for obvious reasons that have been pointed out over and over. Straight stat buffs are also the least interesting means of giving a reward for holding these new points, and lead to confrontations that would have been even before feeling like they were unfair.

Yes uneven fights are part of WvW’s appeal and a big reason why many (including me) prefer it to sPvP, but that doesn’t mean Anet should make it mechanically impossible to have an even one. What I find amusing (in a depressing way) is that most of the people posting in support of Bloodlust seem to be doing so because they want GvG to fail/be ignored.

@Shemsu, every post of yours has just been anti-GvG. Consider that a big part of why GvG has evolved is exactly because of the way WvW is functioning. People don’t enjoy PvDoor, and ppt is based almost completely on coverage and numbers. Why would you enjoy taking an undefended keep? There is no sense of accomplishment. The enjoyment of WvW comes from clashing with other players, whether in open field or in a siege. The buff discourages clashing of players period.

Your post completely misses it. GvG didnt evolve because of the way wvw is functioning, it evolved because wvw is anonymous, and thats not good enough for some players to stroke their kitten too, they want everyone to know how leet they are so they can get off.

Not only that, I never once argued for the stat buff, I could care less, its 500 health, 50 toughness, thats 1/6th of an autoattack not gonna be a game changer. The ppt on stomps i think is an amazing mechanic that could change things up alot. Like i said before, if a FAIR and EVEN fight is what people really wanted, custom arenas exist, but they cant walk around with flashy legendaries stroking themselves for being so amazing at spamming a skill rotation

Because of a max of 10v10 and a screwed statsystem which allows no diversity and forces you into ~1 metabuild per class (BORING, im heavily into build-theorycrafting for my gvgsquad, spvp would take that away completly, and there are many ppl just like me out there…).

also, spvp stats arent meant for fights of this scale.

The thing is, sPvP is supposed to be the balanced game type right? So if your GvG is to really sort the men from the boys and see who is best should not this be done in a balanced setting where it comes down to player skill. Now what you should do rather than complaining that WvW does not cater to your GvG is trying to get Anet to make you a nice new shiny sPvP map with no objectives and a bigger team size.

sPvP is the answer.

A question.. In a GvG do you now un-equip your legendaries beacause they give a stat advantage now. If the answer is no y’all need to kitten.

It’s usually either a)people who are loyal to their server or b) people who can’t let go of GW1.
I really don’t understand the first type since a huge part of the server doesn’t care about WvW. You don’t gain anything from winning and the scores aren’t affected as much as skill as WvW population and coverage. But hey, I guess it’s those people’s “thing”.
The second type really need to realise that this is a different game. For starters the professions have nothing to do with GW1, the PvP system is different, there’s only ONE sPvP game mode and there’s WvW. By now it should be obvious that GW2 isn’t a copy of GW1 and Anet don’t want it to be one.

" You dont gain anything from winning" ? Do you have ANY clue whatsoever just how super sweet a 20% gathering bonus is? It is sooooo sweet, like raspberry chocolate ice cream being served by mila kunis while she is nekked bruh.

It is actually an epic bonus..multiple gathers on a mature herb node you say? a 5 second activity that you can do in wvw that could rake anything up to a shiny gold coin depending on what you get.

But the example I would have given is the 10% HP. Very, very useful and perhaps something people who say winning accomplishes nothing constantly overlook. Yes all servers gain these buffs but the wining server gains them at a faster pace. Kinda funny that people are crying about stat imbalance with the orb return but this Robust health % increase been adding imbalance for a long time. /shrug

Oh it’s gets better, so this “league” is actually a glorified achievement. I can’t wait to see what lovely objectives there will be on the checklist. Kill the grub 100 times, kill the centaurs 100 times etc etc.

Memsers are traditionally good at roaming since release, never a bad choice. Just switch to rune of the traveller to make up for lack of ooc speed.

This. Also you can perma swiftness with Centaur runes but it is a lot of effort with spamming heals and switching to different heals for roaming and combat.

I have just switched to Traveller runes and they are epic on a Mesmer. Just zoom about all day.

It’s funny how mad people are about this…don’t like the buff? Think it’s unfair then go to sPvP where the game is apparently more balanced OR transfer to a server the will likely never have the buff.

I for one enjoy solo roaming and am constantly fighting 1v1 1v2 1v3 so I will take any advantage I can get.
