What happened to the creativity of the maps like in gw1? every single zone is a square or a rectangle, theres no imagination or variance.

he wasnt nearly as big as they said he would be. he was tiny, and the entire fight was a 2-2-2-2-2-2-2 spam fest. boring and falsely advertised.

why do i have to be trolling just because i dont respond? im reading. everyone just lists off all of necros spells and on paper they are ok spells but you would never use them because compared to your main epidemic build they are complete crap. “with healing power you heal for a ton” uh no you dont it heals for dog crap and you just wasted a stat on healing power. i would rather have a mes in my group over a necro any day, any way you slice it.

they offer less damage, less utility, no group buffs, and their minions cause more harm than good… whats the point of playing a necro over these other light armor classes? no one would choose a necro for their dungeon over a mes or an ele.

I made a purchase for 20 dollars worth of gems through paypal. I have plenty of money so that’s not the issue. The payment is stuck as “pending” on paypal and i have not recieved my gems, but you took my money.

Collecting rare mounts was some of the most fun I had in WoW. Plus i loved riding them around. Sad this game doesnt have them. They could even not be faster than running and I would still want to collect them.

Most likely town clothes since ANet loves them and doesnt realize most people dont care about them at all.

And it removes your hair when you wear it so you look like a chemo patient.

Lions Arch takes 10 years to load for me since the halloween patch. Wintersday is going to be so slow for me.

Stop trying to bring other MMO style here and get a class that you like and learn how to be more effective with it. It will give you the better results.

Dont even act like there isnt a preferred group composition for any given fight.

An actual endgame worth playing, and better dungeons with better boss mechanics. (More fights like Lupi please, less stupid high hp punching bag bosses)

And better pvp. WvW is too kitten big and there should be an arena gamemode for spvp, not just capture point.

I’m glad there are rare items. If everyone had everything then no one would be able to stand out and no one would even care about appearance (effectively making all skins and dyes worthless).

there can be rare items. temporary fun holiday events shouldnt include them. its meant to be fun for everyone to enjoy, not an elite few.

why does everyone throw around the word entitled like it’s going to make them seem smarter?

I logged in this morning 1 hour before work. I was able to mine 75 candy corn, get a scythe skin for mah staff and do a bit of costumes things and start the Act 1.

dunno pretty nice for casual

until you log in again and notice your scythe skin is gone because it’s only temporary and lasts 4 hours?

next up: an exotic weapon costing the same amount of mats as a legendary.

I see a number of posts comparing GW1 events with GW2, and I’m really surprised that people are saying the GW2 event falls short. Especially less than 12hrs into the event. Let’s do a little comparison between the GW1 Halloween event, and the GW2 Halloween event.

GW1 – Decorations
GW2 – Decorations

GW1 – Special loot drops from foes
GW2 – Special loot drops from foes

GW1 – Costume Brawl – free access, limited to one instanced area/arena
GW2 – Costume Brawl – free access in limited area, open world access when a costume is purchased through the gem shop.

GW1 New content in the form of quests
GW2 New content in the form of dynamic events and jumping puzzles (and who know what else as the week goes on)

GW1 Halloween hat acquired through farming candy corn for a token
GW2 Halloween hat acquired at no cost through gem store by clicking a button. Oh, you have to click twice.

GW1 No event themed weapon skins
GW2 A variety of event themed weapon skins that can be temporary or permanent, depending on how much work you put into getting them. Crafted skins are tradable.

GW1 No minis
GW2 Special event themed minis purchased through the gem shop.

I don’t even know where to begin with crafting and character customization. Using inexpensive materials that I’ve gathered, and using regular crafting recipes (nothing from the Mystic Forge) I’ve crafted awesome armor and weapons that are perfect for my Necromancer (this is her Holiday, after all ). Add in the robust dye system, and I have no desire for costumes or special skins for her. She looks wicked!

Eventually, I’ll probably get the bow for my ranger, but I don’t feel the pressure to do it RIGHT NOW! As the week plays out, it’ll give me a pretty good idea of what I need to do to get it, be it this Halloween, or next. Not having the bow skin in the first day of the event certainly isn’t going to stop me from enjoying the rest of the week.

I’m sure there’re are more ways to compare, and I’m sure there are a few things from GW1 that I prefer over GW2, but overall, I’m really liking this GW2 event. Seems like there’s a lot more to discover and enjoy.

too bad the hats you get in this game are kitteny useless town clothes.

Don’t forget these items can be made after halloween is over. All you really need is the 250 candy corn and 100 of either nougat, p. fangs, c. skulls for the item you want. After that you can take as much time as you want to make the weapon.

You’re forgetting you also need 40 elonian wines which is about 12 gold. Not everyone has that to blow on JUST recipe, let alone the 300 gold in mats you need to actually make it.

Sorry guys, but these are extremely unique skins that SHOULD be difficult to obtain.

Once you have the recipes and the Halloween mats, you can take your time and get the rest, you do not HAVE to finish this by the end of the event.

Let’s all take a step back and breathe. The entire point of a video game is to play it. It’s not a “grind” for the item if you take your time and work on it during normal play. If you want it right away, of course you’ll have to grind. This is the nature of gaming.

The recipe shouldnt cost 12 kittening gold to make, then. Give everyone a chance to work toward it, not people who are already rich.

every dragon boss fight in this game is just terrible. end of story.
