no chara slot?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Just to confirm, if we pre-ordered and were a player since launch we should have two character slots coming right? One for the Ultimate version purchase of HoT and one from pre-ordering?

I got my pre-order slot right when I entered my key last week, but no second slot appeared today, making creation of a Rev a little difficult!

Mark me down as missing the character slot as well. I got one from my pre-order last week, but no included-with-Ultimate slot opened up today.

When does the Halloween event start?

The problem is they said “22nd” but due to their time zone and delayed launch will be releasing it basically in the wee hours of the morning on the 23rd. Most of the world has already said goodnight to the 22nd of October, 2012. Much of the US is about to as well, yet Anet’s latest word is “later this evening”.

Their marketing team should be kitten that their advertised DAY (not hour, but day) for this event has essentially been completely incorrect and misleading. You’ve had people expecting something to start for 24 hours already.

Due to the use of PST and inability to meet deadlines, just go with “Soon™” as all your ETAs from now on. You’ll look far more professional and be far more specific, Anet.

+1 I have a nice green headband that doesn’t match anything at all other than my starting clothes.

[Crafting] Display Discovered Items for the resource you are using to discover

I really dislike the times when you drag two items and it says “1 recipe found – add more”, add what more? Some method in game of finding a valid recipe other than a wiki search or just randomly finding things would be good.

Then again I can’t keep find enough stuff to discover what i need to make much less other things I don’t need.

Fairer Transmutation system

Also not sure I buy this new armor only every 10 levels argument. I get tons of incremental upgrades via drops – not every last one needs to be transmuted, but I would be more willing to spend on stones if they were made more fair to lower level items.

I’ve crafted my gear my whole time up to 75 so far and crafted gear has been better than dropped in almost ever case. I didn’t really start transmuting till I was 35+ when the Rare insignias for armor showed up though, but that was certainly the start of the new armor every 10 levels for me. Nothing I found during those levels was worth upgrading to.

I’ve transmuted my weapons and armor 3-4 times so far and still have 21 transmute stones in my bank.

Armor as Town Clothes

+1 for this.

With a total lack of town clothes and not being able to wear some of the fantastic outfits that light and medium armor has it’s really depressing being a guardian. I’ve basically only worn two outfits for my 74 levels when there’s so much more available.

Please let us wear any armor as town clothes, everyone I’ve met and talked about this has wanted it.

The anonymity of Guild Wars 2 and the degredation of social MMO's

The whole multiple guild thing is just… odd. I’ve seen explanations for it, but none of them make sense.

That said, the best way to find guilds (or RP!) is to talk to people. Walk up and say ‘hi’, tell someone you like their armor, ask if they are lost, tell them a secret, point out someone nearby that looks silly. There’s so much social gameplay available, but none of it happens if you don’t start talking to people. In local, in map chat, even in tells if needed.

If you talk to people you’re far more likely to find a good home than being silent and only responding to spam recruiting or whatever.

Continuing the reasons to stay in a guild should be talking to people. Not how many dungeons you run or how much influence you’ve given, but how much you enjoy talking to guild mates and spending time with them doing anything.

If all you or and guild cares about is game mechanics, then yes, you are both doomed to have a miserable time together. Talk, enjoy, experience. That’s the key.
