Only found one moving object somewhere in Metrica Province that I could reach (one of those cubes that keep going up and down) and I just fell right through it.

Legendary nerf

How does everyone feel about the coming nerf to what it takes to get the legendary? As someone working hard towards it, kinda makes me want to stop if this is true.

If what is true?

A legitimate discussion about toughness

According to the wiki:

Damage done = (weapon damage) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Defense + Toughness).

So, if this is true, doubling your Armor (= Defense + Toughness) should halve your damage intake. This would indeed mean that Toughness has diminishing returns.

The formula isn’t right because it’s leaving out crits and conditions, but does seem correct for direct non-crit vanilla damage.

The formula also shows you that there’s no diminishing returns, but it’s not an additive/subtractive, but proportional.

To call that “diminishing returns” is absurd, because if it were straight up subtractive, at some point if you had enough toughness, you’d be getting healed by taking hits.

Not sure what people mean here with the term ‘’Diminishing Returns’‘, then (to be honest it’s the first time I’ve seen it being used this much in an MMO community) . What I meant was that, in how I understand it, as your Toughness increases, adding the same amount of Toughness on top of that will yield less and less noticeable results in damage mitigation.

Like if you were to attain some absurd amount such as 10.000 Toughness, adding 200 more won’t really make a difference, but if you only have 500 Toughness, another 200 would help way more.

As for how that affects your survivability… well, I’m not going to pretend I know much about the math behind that :p

Official Response: Drop Rate of Legendary Precursors

Linsey can we get a update on this issue? Its been nearly 2 weeks & for many this is the only faucet of end-game currently in GW2. Colin most recent “massive November content update” gives me hope but I cannot help but feel defeated here. I like many others do not approve of the current design concept of obtaining a precursor & purchasing from TP might as well be giving gold to bot farmers/exploiters which I refuse to support.

Quite curious here as well.

Especially the ‘’We have been watching the prices climbing on Legendary precursors and share your concerns about some of them becoming too expensive.’’ part, since the prices of the more popular precursors have almost doubled since that was posted.

Very nice indeed. The accomplishment, that is. The weapon itself… oh well.

I thought at least the hilt would be a mixture of Sunrise/Twilight like the icon suggests, and that the blade and effects switch depending on the time of day. You know, so you can actually see that it’s Eternity.

The only skill points that are ‘’out of whack’’ are the ones that can’t be completed due to a bug, if you ask me.

How many Skritts does it take to change a lightbulb?

I think you’d need a few Asuran scientist to invent the lightbulb before a Skritt can change one.
