I love it the way it is, HOWEVER agreed with many, no chest after a huge 20-30 min battle = WAY DISSAPOINTED.

Name the map they are all bugged, most events in every area in every location has one or two events locked up. I know in the starting areas, the farms on fire, stay on fire locked in a loop waiting to kill off the mobs which never show up.
The next area I ran into the ogre events, all locked up no matter what part of the map I went to. Same with the other areas I went too,. basicly all areas are braking one after another. I am at a point where I beleive the devs are on vacation atm and no one is even watching the servers ;P.

Show me a vid man, someone is healing you in a dungeon period there is no way around this. Anything else in this game? I don’t argue it, in dugeons, I would LOVE to be proven wrong.

dodge duck etc works great and you can do two within 10 sec usually, someone is still healing you thou, someone is still cc’n , tell me u can run any dugeon with one class type and I will eat a hat.
Just saying, he has a point and while there is a obvious point here where the OP might not being using all their best moves, it’s true if you have all bases covered and your speced correctly you can make life in dugeon crawling go without a hitch. He didn’t say you can’t do it, just saying that if you spec your class and mix the classes correctly, doing dugeons do become allot easier and in the world of MMO’s, everyone that does any serious dungeon crawling will look for the best group mix/build to do them.
This bring the point of the trinity and more, when you get right down to it, gw has a trinity, just no dedicated healer class. Tank , dps, cc no prob
I post this in almost every post I do just because it’s factual and there is no argument. Good groups will have casters that heal and have insta rez abilties slotted and go fig, mages have insta rez abilties, big suprise there all this did was kitten mages from dps.

Bah you guys are full of it, this game is so the holy trinity without a healer. The same tactics used in WoW and other games are used here. Don’t try to make it seem like these dungeons are some new holy concept. Once figured out they are like all others, tank, dps, heal, cc. The only differance here is no healer so the casters usually fill in with that along with insta rez. Funny, casters get insta rez ability choices wonder why?
Anyways, OP has a good point , you might not agree, but at least come back with some actual legit suggestions. Geez.

I get what your saying and it’s happening, pretty much the build is now HP and resists. Why is that? it’s the system that does it, for when you attempt to go into say a crit line or others, it’s a waste. The numbers just don’t add up and that is the issue. Game is still a blast, but this will continue till more balancing is done. So far I have to say the devs are doing a great job hammering out bugs and other things. I have no doubt this will be addressed. IF you think about it, we are what? only a month in after release?

Meh, silly discussion but I won’t stop you from having it, guild wars 2 was boasted not being an item based game. Why? So those that play casual could always compete with those that don’t. Those that have the time and want to work for it can get kickbut skins and that’s some pretty cool stuff. But if that’s not for you then GW2 probably isn’t. This has been known for years now and actually debated to death. Just saying, silly for in the end this won’t change it’s not in the devs vision of the game. I for one am glad and love the pvp just for this reason.

Got me where people are getting their groups, but for the groups I have come across it’s the same thing as it was with the holy trinity. Now it’s , we need 2 tank/warriors, 2 range and 2 casters. Theives are not even wanted in most groups, those that don’t follow this build complain about dying to much. Each time I join a group like this that has the casters support healing the dps and back and forth, with hunters plucking at range and heals along with the tanks , it’s a win win. Any other group usually ends up in a faliure and people yelling at each other for not working togather.
Mind you, this might be a bit different in guilds, but alas as a general group deal (that seems this posting is all about and the trinity factor effect) , this is pretty much now the norm and what? we are 1 month into game release?
I argue the trinity is full well and alive, the only difference in guild wars 2 and other MMO’s are concerned is no dedicated healer. Tanks, CC and dps abound! So take out one class and that = no trinity? Meh, if you ask me, bring the healers into the game and wala , trinity, right now it’s just mages that become the healers. Only thing this has done is kittened mage play and made surviavibilty that much more difficult. Let’s not even get started on the “under water adventure” and the bugs that bring to the game.

It seems after reading all of these it comes down to a few classes at points. Hmm I mean it would be great if the devs could go threw each one, but I doubt that will happen, I think the simple solution would be allow people to level past them if they are to hard to beat but allow maybe the players to have 3 levels max above personal story lines. So , if a player decideds they just want to make the whole story line simple and fun to get threw they could in theory just always be 3 levels above before attempting them. Those that love the challenges can do them at level. I see no issue with a solution like that, but I guess that’s just me?
edit: I should note to the devs: personally I love the stories and how we have so many unique paths depending on the class/race and the way we pick it. So a bravo from me for the concepts and stories, just a bit rough to get threw to a point where you just don’t want to do them, but interesting enough to keep pressing you to “want” to do them
I guess, if they where not so great, we wouldn’t post about it and just pass on the whole personal story. So at least knowing we are posting about it, must say something about them

I believe the issue is with the genre of higher fantasy that you have the expectations of epicness.
The Norn are all stoic hunters, the humans all heroic, the Charr all powerful, Asura are all genius inventors, etc.
However by constantly applying this same trope to every set of dialogue, you create a feeling of staleness.
After one hundred Norns all talking about glory in the exact same tone of voice, you lose their individuality. The characters become defined by their races instead of colored by them. Yes, a Norn might have been raised in a society that glorifies hunting and power, but would -all- Norn have the same “For glory! They shall sing my songs in the halls of etc etc” sphiel?
Cause currently, they do.
I think ArenaNet has fallen back in to the old trope that everything has to be epic. No character must show weakness. It must all be amazing. They all rise to the occasion and they are all heroes. They never once falter.
Hell, we even miss the one crowning moment of possible moral ambiguity in the series, the defection of Logan.
It’s far too black and white and far too unbelievable. It works in a limited sense, but unfortunately, it reduces the believability of the character as a multi-faceted individual if all of them share it.
So I think a bit more work needs to be done to flesh out your side characters. We don’t want all of them to be simpering cowards, but it’s not bad to hate a NPC. We don’t have to like them all. It’s more believable if there are some we like and some we find insufferable. It also adds to the story immensely if they are redeemed or not redeemed, versus us going in knowing that they are:
A) Either going to be heroes and succeed
B) Going to be Heroes and die trying.I’ll be completely honest, I really didn’t buy GW2 for the story telling. I love the game mind you, but the NPCs could use some serious work.

I’d also like to point out that a lack of dialogue options within cutscenes rips players concerned with roleplaying right out of the immersion. There are countless times when I’ve wanted my character to say something in reaction to something an NPC said, and my character says the exact opposite. It just reminds me that it’s not really “my” character, it’s the character that Anet designed for me.
These points are great and I very much agree, the last point even more so! I had points where I thought “Bah, why would I say that?!” hehe.

Story henchmen would be fine by me, that or they need to re-balance the personal story missions which the devs (after doing some searching) finally admit that it needs a rework due to inital designs and how the final changes effect said story lines.
In the end if the balance is fixed so be it, I just miss my henchmen army
PS. I did transfer servers btw (didn’t realize we could do it for free!) and WOW what a differance! night and day everyone

Sadly it is already happening on my server. Attempted now on my one toon to get help with a personal story quest for 3 days , this is how it goes….
- ask map chat for help doing personal quest
- no response
- ask again (giving 5-10 min between request so not to spam)
- no response
-log off go to another toon and play that solo
- go back to step one and repeat next day
Now joining a guild would be great, the 5 I recently joined do the same thing.. the following happens..
- Join guild
- meet and greet
- do dungeons or pvp
- mention class quest
- days go by, ask for help
- no help, but do pvp and dungeons we need points!
- start with another guild on top hoping for some real guild help and giving.
Point to it all, sure bad luck in guilds, bad luck in finding nice people I guess, for me at least it’s to a point it is just not worth logging on anymore. People wonder why many of us casual players just give up on games that are no solo friendly, it’s because of the reasons above. As much as we all would love to think everyone is nice and friendly, it’s definitly not the case.
Please don’t pander me with opinions and additude adjustments. I have been in plently of guilds in other games helping and recieving help and more. But for guild wars, I figured ok, they are trying the community MMO rout. But as I thought would happen we are right back to the me me me and my guild only additudes.
The reason GW1 was great for many of us was it was soloable or I could find a group. If I couldn’t there was a nice local npc hero that could use a job I could hire. Now that we can’t we are in many cases relied upon by other players and that all goes by the mood of that community on that server. Should I switch servers? Sure, start over again and again. No I don’t think so.
Give me the option and others who are having this issue, who is it going to hurt? Those that have 40+ hours a week to game? I doubt it.

I think allot of these issue would be taken care of if they brought back the npc hirlings, my one character I haven’t touched due to the personal story issue. My other toons got past theirs are going up and up so far. had to do some repeats but for whatever reason I beleive tanks in general are just kittened in this game. I am at the ghost story in my warriors story which is level 19, I have attempted that story 20+ times now at different levels. The boss at the end just regens faster then I and my npc partner can dish out period. Due to the auto level correction, there is NO WAY to do this solo. I dare another to say they did it .Each person I talked to said “yea, i had to get a few people”.
That would be great if your server was kind, however it seems on mine, getting a group is like getting a group in wow without the right gear for a raid. Good luck finding it, and good luck having fun in a game that is boasted as not a grind. This game is such a grind when it comes to stories and or missions. You get to many points where your repeating stuff over and over just to get to the next point.
The game for me at least is starting to loose it’s flavor quick due to these balance issues, I already have 5 friends who quit, seriously quit in 2 weeks of the game being out because of these very issues saying “well its free, might change in a few months”, sadly I might be right with them.

I just purchased not 10min ago, 2 dye packs and a bump for xp and nothing was delivered. I had no issues before but just today. Previouse purchases, 1 dye pack and armor outfit worked fine.
As far as details? Hmm what’s to say? I was in Kessax Haven open the gem store, decided to get a dye pack and a booster for xp. Had 900 gems left, now have only 250 and the dye and boosters where never recieved. So as of this moment I am down 650 gems.

edit: forgot to add I only wanted 1 dye pack and one xp bonus, there is something I do remember, when I first bought them earlier today it worked fine. When I went back to do it, I clicked and did the “puchase” then nothing happened , so I did it again and again, needless to say it stacked up after closing the store and re-opening seeing the gems gone but not recieving items. I don’t want all of that just one of each
