But to everyone else I meant not open world dueling. More the ability to meet a friend in a city and challenge them to a duel. An offer which, of course, you can decline. As otherwise you’re right you’ll have a heartseeker gank fest which nobody wants.

We are an active guild that originally was PvP focussed but has now branched out into PvE also. We run Friday night Fractal runs and every other week a dedicated Orr run on a sunday. If you are interested take a look at:

Why is dueling not in the game. This seems completely ridiculous. If people want to test builds or hone their skills in 1v1 you have to jump into an empty server, which inevitably fills up with PUGs who spoil your duel. Madness.

Looking for players for dedicated tournament-teams and overall sPvP

English speaking, EU based, on Blacktide server, but members from other servers are welcome.
Are you looking for a stable and organized guild to do sPvP with? Do you want dedicated PvPers with multi-game experience in team based PvP to practice strategy and tactics with? The Unnamed wants to offer you a new home where you can grow as a player and where your input will be valued as part of the team.

We are currently running two successful stable tournament-teams and are now looking to set up a third team. We practice regularly with well developed strategy and concepts. We also have a base of semi-casual sPvP players and want to grow that base a bit bigger to foster our common growth as a PvP based guild and offer the best environment for our players.

The Unnamed is an old guild with a long history. PvP has always been the focus, with games like SWTOR, Rift and Warhammer Online under the belt. English is our language but we are spread out over Europe so even if we go for quality in players over quantity you will seldom log-in to en empty guild-chat.

In GW2 we have been a noticeable presence in WvW, helping Blacktide reach #1 EU and are starting to make a name in sPvP. As players seldom want to leave the guild, even if they focus on other games we have smaller groups of members that play games like LoL or CS, always with the PvP action at heart!

Good morning all,

Papa here, SPvP officer for the Unnamed guild. Just to add to what Lux has said above, we have just opened (this week) our application process to the public for SPvP.

If you think you have what it takes then throw us an application. I am mainly looking for Rank 20 and above, however, if you feel you are an exceptional candidate and just haven’t had the time to put in the hours yet, then apply, we can have a chat and you might get brought into the fold.

I am specifically looking for 2 members (Rank 30+) for our flagship team run by me. In the last 100 or so tournaments we have won around 95%, but sadly two of our members left for personal reasons and travel.

Little bit of info for new players:

Below is a great combo tool:

Play around with it, learn what combo fields you can do yourself and start to learn what combo fields your team mates have in their builds.

Also get into the habit of declaring when you drop a combo field. The best way would be like this:

Mesmer = “Dropping Time Warp on the point.”

A player who has studied that combo tool or combo fields will know that this gives Chaos Armour as a combination and as a result would drop an ability (a Warrior Batlle Standard, a Necro Putrid Mark) that gives it to all his team mates.

Another example.

Warrior = “Dropping Fire field on Enemy X”

Although the warrior hasn’t stated what the ability is, you will now know 100% that burning is going down on Enemy X and as a result should try and get some projectiles through it and onto them to stack Burning.

TL:DR = If you have abilities that switch boons for conditions or vice versa, learn them. Everyone has combo fields and can use combo fields so get reading and play with that tool. This isn’t too long though, read it all, learn it!
