But seriously, Ranger is a solid class for tours, both fractals and dungeons. Although the quickness for the full duration of the fight sometimes makes me think its a joke. Can’t wait to ’’experiment’’ with different class combos up until HoT.

Wow wow wow! Why would u say that? I LOVE all the NPC’s, especially Traffa picking up fights when ever that’s possible, endless Caithe monologues and Agent Spire uber slow moon walking to 1st console!
They bring a lot of excitement to daily tours, and same with the time.

If you hit or get hit by Horik you will not be able to get out of combat again. Watch your positioning, your Icebow aoe and what you hit with it and make sure you do not get hit either.

Btw I did notice that it’s not usually the first player to trigger it or the first player to get to the location, but rather the second player. I often rush ahead on Thief and somebody else paths the mobs.

Guard in daily dungeon, fotm runs is not better than Mesmer in my opinion. While I’d take Mesmer over it any day, some people prefer to take Guard since it offers a more relaxed run for everyone.

And as OJM already said, most hardcore PvE guilds require at least 2 fully geared, mastered professions which are used in pve content. I strongly encourage you to make another profession, be it ele/thief/guard and enjoy what the class offers (they’r all fun and slight difference in roles). The idea of multi-classing brings a few things to the table.

1. You can form tour parties really fast, since everyone has the chance to reroll to 2-3 professions.
2. More important than anything, you understand what other classes have to do and what you have to do to help them out with it (for example if you know boss will CC at the start, as a mes/guard pop stability so your ele’s can pop lightning storm, icebows etc etc).
3. General knowledge

Thief has been my main profession since the beggining and in the past year and a half I’ve focused on hardcore PvE dungeon and fractals running, while before I ran some WvW, tPvP, eotm,…. I opened Guild Wars few days ago and vanquished an area and the enjoyment I got from managing +7 heroes was orgasmic. Only thing bothering me was the dull control of my personal character.

As for the topic, Painbow pretty much said it all, gw2 gamestyle (at least in hardcore pve community) might be just too complex at the moment for heroes to perform well, for example look at NPC’s in certain dungeons… To add another problem to what was already mentiond, I bet there would be scenarios where heroes would ruin your carefully planned, timed cc’s and add defiance, overlap fire field for blasting, fearing bosses away, not using proper combinations, etc etc.
One day maybe, would be fun!

So if I am an old player and decide to buy HoT fort 50€ I’ll only get HoT? Why is that? I want a 2nd account as well but HoT linked to my 1st one…

You might want to write what are you interested in. WvW/PvP/PvE (dungeons/fotm/sw/exploration,…). It should increase your chance of being spotted by recruitment staff

Welcome to gw2 I guess if you don’t get any offers from the guilds you might want to check any ’’PvX’’ or ’’casual’’ guilds recruiting and then contact them. Some check forums daily and some forget about it once they’ve posted the recruitment. Anyway good luck in finding a place to stay!

Things like that show PvE dungeon oriented (both hardcore and semi-hardcore) guilds in a bad light. For what it’s worth I read gw2 recruitment forum every day either to help people if I can or to get some new contacts with who ever enjoys running fast dungeons

Many guilds require 2 or more professions just for the fact your personal skill, understanding of the team composition and tasks increase and not to mention you’ve got less problems waiting for that certain profession to come online so you can start a tour. Learn to play Thief and Ele from youtube videos and you should have no problem checking out guilds like iV, qT, SC, tS when they open recruitment.

A friendly tip that might help you find guild faster. Describe what are your main interests (PvE, PvP, WvW,…), how experienced you are with the field, what are your expectations from the guild and community, if you are able to use voice communication programs, what professions do you have and play and what can you offer to the guild speaking skillwise and personality.

That’s a solid argument, given that it comes from 1st hand experience. Probably what sloth meant was you wouldn’t need that much healing and support with increase in DPS, since every dungeon boss drops in seconds. The team composition at the moment is not full personal DPS oriented but rather team DPS, which sees guard use blinds, aegis, condition removal (fire fields) etc.

European PvE guild Transnational Syndicate[tS] is currently accepting experienced, active daily Fractals of the Mists, dungeons and weekly RAID runners with deep knowledge of the content. After release of Heart of Thorns we have turned our focus mainly on Raids and Fractals of the Mists, yet we haven’t completely forgotten about dungeons. We are looking to inject fresh spirit in our ranks, so we have re-opened our applications. Currently guild consists of 40 active daily Raid/FotM/dungeons tour runners and there are 5 SPOTS OPEN for initiates position.

Being amongst the first hardcore PvE guilds in-game to successfully complete Wing 1 of the Raid our goals are to progress through newly released Raid Wings, to farm already conquered Raid Wings and to complete daily fractal and dungeon tours in the fastest possible time with up to date builds, tactics and to furthermore perfect our game-play, tactical aspect and individual skills (constantly improving!). Our goals and mentality has not changed, rather reapplied into Raids and Fractals (while leaving dungeons on the side for a bit). In order to achieve our goals we have set up a few requirements for our members.

Obligations and requirements:

• up to date ascended gear (Berserker, Assassin’s, Viper’s,…),
• multiple roles and gear for Raids,
• willingness to acquire proper gear for raids,
• meta builds, tactics and team setup,
• at least 2 classes mastered,
• knowledge of Raids,
• knowledge of all Fractals and dungeons,
• Fractals and Raids Masteries unlocked,
• best damage modifiers (Slaying potions, food, Sigils, Offensive/Mobility/Defensive Fotm Potions ),
• at least 2 professions with 120 AR (150 AR for main trial),
• level 80 fractals open,
• Team Speak 3 (tactics and general good vibe in the guild),
• Fairly good understanding of English, ability to communicate with others,
• 95% represent (we are a main guild yet exceptions for bank guilds).

After maximum of ten days we trial our ’’initiates’’ to see how they work with the team, how they perform in their profession’s area (if tasks given are executed properly) and if the individual skill has improved since the day they joined the guild. We will be checking Fractals of the Mists level as well.

The focus of the guild is on dedication, efficiency, speed, teamplay and fun environment, on which the trial is also based.

At the moment our priorities consist of :

• weekly organized Raid events (progress, farm, testing),
• daily Fractal of the Mists, dungeons dailies (all),
• solo’s,
• duo’s,
• dungeons tours,
• mastery gathering,
• record attempts,
• streams,
• guild missions,
• testing runs,
• recorded runs (for learning purposes).

We take it as a personal challenge to lead the charge on released Raid Wings with the best possible team composition and with the most skilled players in the guild which also made it possible for us to beat the 1st Wing of the Raid as one of the first guilds. Therefor a week after release of raids guild will go into progress phase where we will be aiming to achieve just that, after the Wing is beaten we are making sure every member gets his hands on the farm phase of the Raid. Together we can push the boundaries!

Usually parties tend to kick instantly when they post LFG for lets say an Ele and anything else but that joins. Problem is they might specifically want one profession, even though others can cover the job as well. If I ever join LFG groups I follow their requests and if conditions are unclear I ask for what class they prefer.

The Thief would be me and yeah <3 Signet of Shadows :P usually I only have it for running and swap before boss fights (that casual ‘’no swift’’ thing still stuck in my head). Kirasia already pointed out on youtube, what you cheezy said and we’ll try it today
