Such fail. So now everyone in WvW will have to dump all their exotic WvW sets and get all this new stuff.

This looks bad… I have 21 character slots and max bank and I almost want to quit just thinking about trying to make room to hold all of my gear sets…

WvW will not be happy…

Newer skins and stat combos would be a better way to go… and maybe sigils, runes and eventually skills… but not this…

Locked Camera
In some third-person games (especially third-person shooter games), the camera is by default ‘locked’ to the mouse such that the right-mouse-button doesn’t have to be constantly held down to turn the camera (and by extension the character). This makes moving the camera seem a lot more natural, especially in a fast-paced RPGs like GW2 where movement and positioning is so important. It can also eliminate hand fatigue as well as the potential of developing carpal tunnel by not requiring the player to constantly hold the right-mouse-button at all times.
Solution:
Consider adding an option to lock the camera to the mouse. When this mode is enabled, it would also enable a secondary keybind (for example, ‘shift’ by default), when held down, this key would temporarily unlock the camera from the mouse and bring up a cursor that would allow players to still interact with the world when needed. Also, whenever a menu is open that requires the cursor (such as the Trading Post, the inventory, the loot window, dialogue/NPC interaction, etc) the mouse would automatically become temporarily unlocked and would automatically become locked again when the menu is closed.

Just look at Dungeons & Dragons Online for how to do camera lock in a third-person action MMO.

Yeah I also played DDO and that camera option was the only reason I played the game at all.

The options in the combat action mod are what need to be put into this game.

Option to toggle the right mouse button (toggle mouselook)

There should be an option to toggle the right mouse buttons function for people who hold down the button constantly.

When playing in the clock tower, during halloween, the function of holding down the right mouse button would give out a lot, causing me to fall. I still finished it 8 or 9 times, but it took a lot longer because I could not accurately control my character. Fighting with the right mouse button was the hardest part of the clock tower.

It would be better if they gave us an optional control scheme like in the combat action mod, which is little more than a right mouse button toggle itself.

It has already been in suggestions so many times.

I was just posting this for feedback.

Other than the right mouse button problem, it was fun though.

There is no toggle for the right mouse button (mouselook).

Seriously, sometimes when I am holding it down it stops working so I can not turn my character and I fall.

I did finish the clocktower with 8 characters, but it took 3+ times longer because there is no toggle for the right mouse button.

Climbing near the top… oopppsss, your holding of the right mouse button is no longer detected, please fall.

Yep. It is one of the many good ideas in the combat action mod.

Hopefully they will put these control options into the game soon.

A mouse-look toggle please!

Agreed. Hopefully they will do something about this soon.

This is why there have been 50,000+ downloads of the combat action mod.

Hopefully they got the message.

Putting these controls into the game, as an option, would likely bring more players into the game.

Before I played the game, I seriously thought that THESE were the controls the game already had. These combat action controls have already existed in other games, for a while now, and are quite popular.

When I found out that the game did not have these controls, in the BWE’s, I and many others went to the suggestion forum, and requested them. Nothing happened….

Now that this mod exists, and they can clearly see what we were asking for, I figure they will put these controls into the game, as an option.

They need to understand that these controls would likely bring more players into their game, and might have been the reason that others did not buy the game. I base this on actual people that I know.

I still play the game a lot. I just try not to hold the right mouse button a lot, and avoid spvp, because there is no point for me with default controls. I like the game, but just /sigh and how good it could be, with these control options.

So I am going to have faith and believe that they will try the mod, like the controls and put them into the game.

The only problem I see, with these controls, is that they were not already options in the game at launch.

We spammed the forums about this every BWE.

Being forced to hold down the right mouse button, as the only option to turn your camera with the mouse, is absurd.

The game is an action game now, so it needs an option for action combat controls.

When they allowed aiming projectiles, from the center of the screen, while in mouselook, I thought for sure that this type of control option would come right after. Nope… …

The lack of this option is really bothersome. I use a naga so I change hand positions a lot, so holding down the RMB all the time is crap.

My solution as been to just play poorly. At least my hand is not destroyed yet.

I have no interest in playing spvp until the controls are fixed. Doing so would be like playing an RTS or FPS only using the keyboard.

Hopefully the devs will try the mod and realize… “OH, this is what they were talking about in the BWEs” …. “Wow, yeah, this is much better. We are putting this option in.”

It is funny how often I open up the whisper/party options, from holding down the right mouse button, and having it trigger a click on the party menu. I am like just playing and then I start randomly trying to whisper or kick someone from my party… so lame.

Optional toggle for mouselook (mouseturn/holding right mouse button)

I would like for there to be a way to toggle the function of the right mouse button, so that it does not have to be held down, almost constantly, by those who desire its function.

Many of us are used to 3rd person shooter style controls, and because of this, we hold down the right mouse button almost constantly, which can be quite bothersome.

Some of us use gaming mice, with lots of buttons, which require the changing of hand positions. This becomes a problem when we are also forced to hold down the right mouse button, because holding down the right mouse button and shifting the rest of your hand, into another position, is very awkward.

There are likely people, with hand problems, who would also like the ability to toggle the right mouse button.

This would also allow people to stop using autohotkey, as they are doing now, to achieve this.

SOLUTION:

Allow the function, of the right mouse button, to be rebound, and place it under controls.

Create another key, under controls, that toggles between the function of holding the right mouse button and normal mouse function.

Have the mouse cursor placed in the center of the screen, when mouselook is toggled on, because that is where it is located when mouselook is on, it is just invisible. This is for aiming shots and skills while mouselook is toggled on. Although you could put in a checkbox for “show mouse cursor while mouselook is on”, whatever works.

Have mouselook toggled off when using inventory, shopping, etc.

Yes, make this happen!

Holding down the right mouse button is so BOTHERSOME!

It also causes me to open up whispers and click on stuff I did not want to, because the mouse gets off center and it registers a click when it things I let go of the right mouse button.
