You completely missed my point, didn’t you?
That is true. However, I do not mean avoid the vistas and events like the plague, by all means take part/ do dynamic events if they are next to you. The problem with doing ALL hearts and vistas in the area for the 2nd (or more) time is that you’ve already ‘been there, done that’ with your main and it is really the uninteresting part. By focusing on more on the story, you will actually get more enjoyment out of it (the story) and it doesn’t feel like a chore.
I’ve perhaps done the Jormag event less than 10 times but yesterday I got my first rare from the chest, so purely on my experience, its been buffed if anything.
I don’t think my main will ever be replaced, but I’ve made several new characters and got bored of leveling them…
Until I decided NOT to stop and do all hearts, vistas etc and just concentrate on the story. I found this meant I could play my new alt for hours without before bored. Honestly, try it – skip all the distractions.
There is an Asuran story mission that occurs there. You have to bust through a house with a ‘secret’ inquest base and rescue the professor. Disappointingly, nothing related to the floating castle though.
Sounds like fun! I will definitely take the sword and dagger out together for spin later.
mrsrachelm, I disagree. If anything this will benefit you in pve if you do mob farming etc.
^
This cannot possibly make PvE builds worse, unless the sole purpose of your PvE build relied on signet backstabbing things, and that sounds like misery itself.
This change makes PvE farming/questing much faster and effective.
Which is exactly what I said

But does the move work? It was wholly ignore by most because it was unreliable, but I always hoped for it to one day work as intended.
Edit: Spelling. See quote below if you must.

Until I can finish work and have a play, I’m wondering if it is actually worth activating the signet.
Activate: 15% Damage for next 5 attacks. 30s cooldown (i.e no passive for next 30s).
Passive: Power increased by ten plus one per level (+90).
Even though I run a bs build (pve/pvp), I think this is a good change for the thief class. Lets be honest, assassin’s signet was only good for bs so this change will make it much more versatile and viable in other builds.

I’d like to add that today’s gamers care too much about “being rewarded for their efforts” – something I’ve seen in more than one post.
I actually feel that today’s gamers “want rewards WITHOUT the effort”, and this game caters for that audience to some extent.
Yes, please make this game harder (read: challenging). What makes dungeons so fun is the difficulty, so why can’t this mentality be spread across to the later areas of PvP? Not dungeon difficulty exactly, but you get the idea.
The last game I really enjoyed is Dark Souls, which is sadistically hard, and that’s what made it so fun.
Simonic I feel exactly the same way you do.
To me, MMOs are about progressing your character and with that, usually comes with grind. Of course, forcing the players to grind for days on end is bad, but I feel that instead of trying to balance out the grind, Anet just scrapped it and place it all as end game. So instead of semi-grinding on the side of the story, you get a wall of grind at the end (optional, I know).
If you love cosmetic changes then that is something to work for, but what if you don’t?
I’m still roaming around Orr doing DE and cleansing temples but I can only do that for so long. I love PvP, but I got bored of WvW very quickly.
I expect someone to say “go play something else if you like the carrot on a stick” and to those, I say go play The Sims.
Your opening post is full of contradictions. On one hand you say there isn’t anything to spend your gold on but later, you acknowledge that there are lots of other things you could buy but have no interest in. Who’s problem is that then?
The problem is that the OP is complaining BEFORE he has even acquired everything.
I’ve only experience in PvE and WvW but I am quite happy with the stealing. The only change I would like made is to have the stolen item assigned to F2 (if there isn’t already a stolen item there), so that we can use F1 as a shadow step + traits without having to use the item first. I for one don’t always use the item straight away and would love to be able to save it for an appropriate moment.
Defintely stealth first and then teleport straight after.
Reason:
Once you go stealth, the mob will lose aggro and start walking away towards their spawn spot. You then teleport in the opposite direction to create optimal space and hopefully once you come out of stealth, you will be out of their range.
If you teleport first, the mob will auto walk towards your new location before you’ve even started stealth. Chances are, you will Reveal before the mobs get out of range and they will return to bring back the pain.
