And most items that can be bought using karma (the same goes for recipes).
Those have always been missing, due to how the game reports “discovered” items – karma vendors aren’t in the loop for some reason.
Since the latest reset there are several karma items (like the bulk cooking ingredients) listed, anyway, still waiting for MF recipes…
The daily achievements are in a (known) fixed rotation: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Daily
It’s indeed not possible to link events to their corresponding sectors within a map. So the easiest thing would be to add the sector_id which can be found in map_floor.json to the event_details.json if possible.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/api/API-Suggestion-Event-Details (hint, hint!)
This was already requested multiple times but i think style changes on the forum won’t happen ever.
Try this instead: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/CSS-Hack-Fluid-forum-layout/2308172
Seems like the items must be discovered once more. There are currently 23553 of 30145 discovered items in items.json and 6617 of 7736 recipes in recipes.json.
They don’t and this should be alarming for you. A service handler is usually needed for non-standard protocols, e.g. Skype does that so that you can use skype://xyz links on a website. All pages under guildwars2.com use standard http and https protocols so that you won’t need to install anything. Ever. If so, go and check for the source of this, also a more detailed description (screenshot if possible) and your software configuration (OS/Browser) could be helpful in order to help you get rid of this.
The difference between maps.json and map_floor.json is that maps.json just holds basic map info while map_floor.json has all data for all maps on a given floor_id. Also, you can define a map_id for maps.json while you would have to parse the full map_floor.json to find the needed snippet and you need to know the floor_id where you can find the map you’re looking for.
Regarding your questions:
1. From the API documentation:
These APIs are in beta, so don’t be surprised if the interfaces change, but we will try to warn you if we have to make any breaking changes.

And next week the only chance that RoF can get to third place
Nah, we missed our last realistic chance to get third place with the last matchup… We simply handed it away – makes me sick to look at the score evolution: http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/19/122

[…] Well, it’s not the first match where Dzagonur players used these “tricks” against us. […]
That Topic was written in Nov/Dec last year.
Hilarious
Yerp, and even more hilarious is that Anet claimed to have all these bugs fixed in the meantime… (the big update in feb/march i believe)
Oh, the german Luftwaffe again? Well, it’s not the first match where Dzagonur players used these “tricks” against us. So a shout out to all the honest DZ players: go and find those dipkittens and report them – thats the least thing you can do if you want to keep your reputation as RoF’s favourite opponent.
(edited by smiley.1438)
But thanks to our absurdly well sieged garrison we could hold at least this…
Wait WHAT? We had siege in a keep and actually used it?
*marks day in calendar
Too bad, i haven’t been much around yet because RL and some GW1 duty… but i think i’ll join in this week ^.^
Thanks to skin receiver for putting up with us pugs and holding things together!
Oh, thanks for the flowers XD
Well, currently we’re slacking a bit it seems. /t in EB is whining about being double teamed by DZ and BT… seriously RoF!?
Although if you’re after fights I recommend attacking in the day time when there’s people there
We (TaG) are usually looking for good fights during guild runs but avoided Vabbi BL yet because of your low numbers and so we’re mostly trying to get fights on AS border or keep our own BL clean, so feel free to find us there – usually startingin the evening
(edited by smiley.1438)
After all, i felt a bit sorry for you, Vabbi.
Clearly not sorry enough!!!! ;’(
The last thing before I left WvW was oddly enough, repairing the wall in Ogrewatch then walking outside and getting hit by 20 RoF! We had already killed their treb once, and repaired the wall back to 75%, so when I saw you coming in it was just a “urgh, I’m too tired for this” moment. Especially after our keep getting tag teamed for best part of 4 hours
I’ve noticed lately most servers seem to object to a matchup with Vabbi because we provide so few players to fight, but simultaneously spend the entire week attacking us the second something turns red because it’s easier than taking from the other server… which only makes Vabbi players join in less, and the cycle continues. It’s understandable in terms of points, just baffling that people then complain about the lack of opponents.
*note, this is not a SCREW YOU ROF comment (as I said I understand why, so no criticism), just an observation I’ve had which fit with your post. I shall likely be there to fight regardless, just with adding cursing that you’re all cheap!
I must admit, i feel also sorry for that AS guy who was on the treb. I guess his finger bleeds now XD
But as a heads up to you Vabbi guys: i really prefer to fight you than AS not because of your low numbers, but because of the fact that you’re good fighters. I wish there were some more of you (no bandwagoners please!). Btw. RoF also knows how it is to get roflstomped – we had that for months before the league started… So don’t get demoralized and keep up the good fights!
I want to apologise for stealing a T3 Ogrewatch… but it was inviting. Arborstone must have trebbed it for ages with a single treb from SM. So we decided to take it before AS would arrive and camped there for a while and had a couple of fights with you Vabbi guys. Protip: a treb on the balcony at the lordroom is waste of supply and so are ACs in the middle of the outer walls The funny thing was that AS realized that we were camping there when the wall was at like 0.000001% and stopped trebbing so we had to build another cata quickly to finally take it down. After all, i felt a bit sorry for you, Vabbi.
Little later we found some golems in our keep (thanks to whoever left them there – PWNY i guess) and decided to walk into SM. As expected the outer and inner reinforced gates melted quickly but then we encountered a well sieged lordroom. I think AS had even numbers with us – like 10-15 and it seemed everyone was sitting on an AC or ballista so we got mostly wiped after the first portal bomb but were also able to clear out most siege so that we could finally take it in the second attempt. Hope ye all had fun
p.s i lol’d at what just happened – walked into LR, 70% of zerg dies.
RoF pugs won’t learn. Never. Ever. Gate down – rush in – die in AC/Ballista fire. Hope you Vabbi guys got some good loot from them XD
Oh yeah, i think it took us a couple of attempts to get into your fortress of death (T3 Garrison) this afternoon – you guys had an insane amount of siege in there – you know how to defend stuff
Vabbi is a perfect example that WvW is all about Quantity and not Quality of players :p
Thats nothing new tho
Wow, you just walked into SM while RoF has a queue in EB. RoFfles ran around like headless chicken, noone felt the urge to command or even to defend… Well deserved RoF!
Maybe he meant French Borderland don’t know :p
Ya, i meant Vabbi and met you on the french BL, my bad ;D
And yes was really fun! Also hiliarious coincidence that we all randomly joined the same bl ^^
Indeed, also didn’t expect to see BNF on a french server^^
Seems like we’re getting better fights than expected this week
Classy Ros, taking fow keeps and stuff with 50+ people. Nice going against one of the weakest servers. I bet you are proud of your bandwagon server now huh.
“We’re not bandwagoning.”
“We’re not blobbing.”
“We came to the bronze league for the fights.”
“We don’t exploit, just glitch into towers & keeps by accident.”
GJ RoS!
I wonder if there’s a relation between starting supply wasting upgrades on all 3 RoF keeps and the incoming RoS zergs right now…
RoS[LOOT]
btw. they should rename from “We Want Your Lootbags” to “We Are Your Lootbags” – thanks for all the loot yesterday
You are wasting valuable character space by using the “-”. “C876757AEF3E4FBEA48407FF790D9B05” is the same as “C876757A-EF3E-4FBE-A484-07FF790D9B05”, saving you 4 characters per ID. Not much I know, but over 52 ID’s that’s 208 wasted characters.
You’re messing up UUIDs and their respective MD5 hashes. It may be possible to strip the hyphens but don’t know yet if this would be supported by the API.
(edited by smiley.1438)
Great job at bay right now, RoS. After we farmed and annoyed you for like 2 hours in there, you had to pull your whole server there to sweep us out…
(edited by smiley.1438)
After some RoF guilds invaded our border we decided to put some siege in case they come again :P
Pah, thats lame. RoF ist taking camp sieging really serious: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/matchups/10-25-RoF-BT-WSR/3095107
…
Ahh, so it wasn’t Anet’s fault to reschedule the match start time, but the players fault to not get ready an hour earlier as usual. Clever. Not.
(edited by smiley.1438)
Elitist guild groups are getting us nowhere.
Whiners do neither.
I made this more clear in this post: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/api/API-Suggestion-Items-Recipes-and-Crafting/2863618
tl;dr: an API which delivers the IDs of changed items starting from a given build number. build.json could be extended and used for this.
It would be indeed helpful if the /wvw/objectives.json had a unix timestamp of the last time the objectives were flipped. I think that was requested a couple of times before.
Thought I’d add my guild emblem image generator experiment thing to this list:
http://gw2-emblemer.appspot.com/emblem.get?guild_name=ArenaNet
http://gw2-emblemer.appspot.com/emblem.get?guild_id=4BBB52AA-D768-4FC6-8EDE-C299F2822F0F
… and that’s about all it does.just wondering if you could share the code of this api? (and more specifically the part of how you linked the right images to the right id’s and gave it the correct colors? That’s be awesome^^)
Have a look at this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/api/API-Suggestion-Guilds/2154956
I’d prefer the none bandwagon server to win this week. Come on Dzagonur.
LOLWUT? The only none bandwagoned server in this matchup is probably Vabbi…
http://mos.millenium.org/servers/history/3 Any questions?
yes, sir. we do have fun, sir.
I can hardly see any dead TaG on these screens (but i must admit that we got spanked quite a few times by that lil’ BT group (i don’t want to use the word zerg or blob because kitten)) and i’m still waiting for proof screens from that guy who claimed to farm us ^.^
Honestly, thanks for the great fights, BT. You may be not many but compared to other servers (lookin at you DL), you got the balls to put up a good fight on the open field instead of running away.
(edited by smiley.1438)
Yay, more bored WvW’ers:
Boredom in WvW… and advanced TaG siege tactics.
Well, poor WSR is cannon fodder anyway, let’s have them their WP in EB
But you BT guys gave us a lot of great fights, lots of fun! Kudos!
They blobbed our gari,
they blobbed our gari,
they blobbed our garri on rof booooorderlaaand.
“YOU SPIN MY TREB RIGHT ROUND RIGHT ROUND…”
The funniest thing this night was actually the “staring contest” at DZ hills (see screens). DL had so many people to outnumber us both, RoF and DZ in there, but being kittens as usual they ran off as soon as we moved. After like 20 minutes in there we got bored and went to cap other stuff and it seems even the few DZ managed to get DL out of hills.
Later we switched back to EB where we turned a lot of DL blobs into lootbags like we did some more times earlier that day – lots of laughs in ts
Also the fights in the early morning with that bunch of DZ guys at hills and lake tower vs us 5 TaG. Great fight, once more kudos to the DZ night crew!
(edited by smiley.1438)
dam this skill lag is getting silly, can we atleast try not to blob guys :P looks at DL and DZ
DZ doesn’t actually blob that much – the fight in hills was really even numbers – justt Drakkarblob crashed the party again…
Thanks for that epic fight in DZ hills right now! Kudos to DZ for those great fights!
The icons will be available through the files API soon, see: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/api/API-Changes-with-upcoming-WvW-changes/2919654
Seriously DL, do you have fun winning fights where you outnumber anyone at least 2:1? At least DZ gives us some good fights.
RoF whinning about being outnumbered. How creative.
Yes we do have fun winnning fights while you are outnumbered, we specifically tell our publicraids to gather as many people as possible to crush you.
Nah, it’s more about DL being kittens all the time. Your attitude seems to be like “if you can’t outnumber them, just run away”. You don’t even try to put up a good fight.
Seriously DL, do you have fun winning fights where you outnumber anyone at least 2:1? At least DZ gives us some good fights.
Should rename the game: “Blob Wars 2: Electric Boogaloo – Grinding Edition”
fix’d
LOTS. OF. FUN. And lootbags!
Salutes from RoF!
My problem now is how to make my own program talk with GW2API servers.
So before you start anything with the API stuff, you’ll neeed to figure out how to make a common HTTP request - either self written or through a library like cURL.
FYI: the code example i provided is just a slight modification of Google’s example for custom map layers. I have added 2 functions to translate latlng coordinates to pixel values and vice versa which is required if you want to draw any stuff on a GW2 map and this already makes about 1/3 of the code. Then i’ve addded a second imagemap layer to draw tyria and the mists and finally, i changed the function initialize() which you can find in most of Googles examples to a self invoking function to get rid of the <body onload="..."> because inline events are really bad practice (see: https://twitter.com/guypod/status/390140202393432065)
I’d also recommend you this interesting blogpost for reading: http://sparecycles.wordpress.com/2008/06/29/advanced-javascript/
