I get the feeling they just don’t care.

It is likely taking longer for information on ranger to get released because they are taking a hard look at the class and how to fix it. They can’t NOT know how we feel about ranger. None of the elite specs matter until HoT releases anyhow so your wait to actually make use of the elite spec is the same no matter if you know what it is today or any other day before release. Be patient and have faith

Or they just dont really have any dev who really cares for the class. Anyway I am preparing for the worst as a ranger they never really showed much ranger love, dont expect it now.

Its hard to have faith if you compare the track record for ranger compared to others IMO.

I think we should see some more of the largoss before introducing them as playable and for kodan we would first have to push back jormags minions which on itself could also be an option, I just feel the Tengu are positioned better to be introduced as the first new playable race. (Although I do expect these 3 to be playable eventually, in any case before other races).

Arenanet said they would present some of what they plan on doing in the future (expansions/living stories/lore/) at PAX together with the challanging group content Now instead of waiting on that why not get a little ahead and tell them what we would like to see for the future of gw2?

Anyone following is my look on the future of what I would like to see, feel free to comment and share your own views of where you would like GW2 to go.

First of all where will this expansion bring us lore wise?
Will we see the defeat of mordremoth or are we having another LS season to wrap it up? I will start after the defeat of mordremoth, if they put another LS inbetween to get that done thats just fine by me too.

There is the HoT release and anout 2 months of buggfixes which will inevitably be needed. After those 2 months another LS should start (aka they ought to be already working on it so they can deliver at a faster pace, by now the tech should be there and they should be sufficient familiar with it to get this done).

The first LS after the whole mordremoth thing should be about the 5 races, 10 episodes and 2 per race. To fight mordremoth they abandoned their problems, we had to convince them, now he’s gone and they need our help because the issues they had are still there.

  • Norn and charr are pretty straightforward, they need help in their wars against the sons of svanir and ascolon ghosts respectively.
  • Humans some more corruption under politicians, perhaps some sleuthing etc, a lot has been left untold after the human personal story and I would like to see this advanced in this LS.
  • Asura are close to human ones, arcane eye and possible corruption, working with the inquest, stealing taimi’s device for bad things, can also get some inspiration from the PS of asurans.
  • Sylvari, well there is alot to say post mordremoth, they will have to rebuild a lot, many have died undoubtfully the trust is broken between them and the other races so there is a lot that can be told here post mordremoth.

So that LS season 3, small break after (perhaps some intermediate holiday events depending on the timing) and then another LS season building up to the next expansion, on which they should have started working pretty much after this one came out. Perhaps there is a place between LS seasons to add a feature patch, but I don’t know if there is space for that with enough features to give that they are not putting in the next expansion.

Perhaps first an overview of what I would like to see in another expansion:

  • New race : Tengu
  • Story line that picks off after LS season 4, that LS prepares the opening up of the tengu because they are attacked by primordus and cannot deal with it alone, the story of the expansion is the campaign against primordus.
  • 1 New specialization for all classes
  • Completely new weapons for these specializations, they have no problem reusing it so its not as if there should be 9 new weapons, 3 would be a minimum however.
  • New maps, Tengu city, tengu lvl 1-15 and IMO also tengu lvl 15-25 map, all of course consistent with previous maps, so with the hearts etc. On top of this some level 80 maps where we are going to attack another dragon (although I’m not certain which one, probably Primordus)
  • Real player housing, players can buy space in the world itself where they can completely build their own houses and customize them
  • More guid hall places
  • Expanding on group content
  • New masteries
  • Dueling would be a nice addition too but it would take a very strict ruleset
And probably there will be some more ideas later.

Now I said add tengu, but this will bring about a whole new set of problems namely story wise, what are we going to do with tengu players? Are we giving them the complete zhaitan story and all the previous living story seasons? Or are we going to let their story start only at the time we are currently at, and thus all story up to LS season 4 is not for them? They should in this case at least get a really big PS before it merges with the other races in the fight against mordremoth. Some things obviously can be recycles like getting into an order. So lore wise this will be a hard nut to crack.

Now a bit out of order but living story season 4 should be all about the tengu opening up because they are being attacked and need help. Above I said tengu zones in the expansion, perhaps we can introduce the low level zones bit by bit in the LS already. They open the wall in LA you get in the level 15-25 map and meet your first tengu, being attack by little destroyers etc. The further the story advances the more you get to see of them, the city should be part of the axpansion though IMO. The new weapons can also be easily introduced here as being weapons that are “typical” tengu and can later on be learned by the player characters.

Well this is pretty much how I see it so feel free to comment ^^

Ranger getting the best of anything? Good joke there :P

The order of the reveals doesn’t really matter, they’ll all still be there come release.

but will they all be there come the next BWE? if not, then they’ll have less testing, and consequently fewer bug fixes or general improvements. on top of this, it means those Medium armour fans get less value out of the betas.

Well some classes just are not priority compared to others, seeing more love for some than others ever will get is nothing new.

I’m sure most of my guild has experienced this at one time or another; extremely annoying after a 2 hour garri fight btw. But as you have said it only happens rarely so passing it along as a bug report would be hard for Anet to pin down.

Unfortunately this is just another feature we have to deal with in the life of a WvW player I suppose.

I think it is well worth fixing, especially if they plan to make WvW more of priority after HoT and it should be fixed. Problem is how aware are they of this issue? True the nature of the bugg makes it extremely hard to fix but hopefully they have some more options than we have to check out what is the problem behind it now that they know there is an issue. After all some other systems are depending on it (dailies and probably other achievements too) so the range of afflicted other mechanics could be quite high.

This however does not always happen so I don’t really know how it can be reproduced.

Suggestion obtaining Elite Specialization.

smitske.4912

Smitke, I love your idea of instances as a way to gain the elite specializations…maybe they could give us difficulty settings on these instances which would be a win/win situation for everyone…if wishes were fishes….

Lisa.

The thing is, on one end every human player should be able to get it, because it is a core function of the game so it should be “easy” enough. On the other hand however in the world of Tyria it should be something hard that not everyone can achieve, meaning we dont have every new NPC or even old ones all of a sudden be a specialization, it should be an achievement in the world itself. After all this is a class up and it should be a challanging task that feels really good once you complete it knowing that your specialization is something thats hard to achieve.

Obviously this makes striking the right balance not at all that trivial.

Suggestion obtaining Elite Specialization.

smitske.4912

While I agree that they should not be too far from entering VB, I do find it should make sense chronologically story wise.

It seems most likely that the ‘mentors’ that will be the first of every specialization will be some of the main characters (as some already have been show) f.e.

Revenant specialization : Rytlock
Guardian specialization : Braham
Warrior specialization : One that comes to mind would be Canach, he has no class specified on the wiki but seems a warrior character to me

Engineer : Taimi is the only one we know I think
Ranger : Rox or Eir, although since Braham seems to get Eirs bow perhaps more of chance of the latter becoming druid? Also looking at what the druid theme could be seems more of a Norn thing.
Thief : Caithe is the one that comes to mind, hase also been quite active/mysterious this LS

Elementalist : Zojja is only one I really know
Mesmer : Most likely Kasmeer, however Anise could also be an option here but I doubt she will have much involvement in the actual story besides from sending Canach
Necromancer : Marjory most likely, Trahearne could be an option but the first has the better “claim” IMO.

So in any case for it to make sense story wise all of this has to be shown in the PS before you could specialize, personally I am in favour of all being able to specialize at the same point, however some could happen before others if story is the only prequisite (f.e. revenant could technically go after first story with Rytlock appearing and clearly using glint which seems to be the specialization).

Anyhow as to how this should happen, IMO every specialization should have its own insance together with the “mentor” character with a specific challange to learn about the specialization, for example dragonhunter goes into the lair of a “dragon” and has to kill it, druid has to go to a trial to become one with nature etc.

Anyway I do really hope they have a meaningful way to acquire the specialization, this BE you just got the trait line slotted even though you could not invest points into anything yet, hopefully for the release there will be a meaningful, ‘challanging’ way to get it before you can start dropping points into it.

Specialization acquisition

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: smitske.4912

smitske.4912

So in the beta you get specializations activated from the start, but is this also the way the acquisition will go if HoT goes live? (where from the moment you log in you can spec points into it andn then got it?) or is there going to be some lore as to how to acquire it.

Personally i’ld prefer that you have to visit a mentor (in the early stages of verdant brink to keep it in HoT maps) and they go into an instance with you with a challange specifically for a certain specialization. For example for the revenant specialization with Rytlock could take you to an instance (glints lair?) where he can teach you about it. Dragonhunter goes on th hunt for a dragon with Braham etc. So it is not just hey you got HoT now you can just use skill points and be that specialization, which IMO would be quite lackluster.

Revenant Changes

smitske.4912

Nice to see some changes anyway I would like to know what about the utility skills? Personally I dislike the lack of options, with this I mean you pick legend x and you get those 5 skills period, IMO there need to be some more utility skills so we can effectively make a more diverse build and to make it so that not all revenents with the same legend have the same utility skills. Some ideas for that which I had were either make a “general” line of utilities, not bound with any legend and that could be exchanged with a legend specific utility or give some more legend specific utilities so there is a choice. (or both?)

Also don’t you consider the ability to have 2 utility sets and 2 weapon sets a bit unbalanced compared to other classes?

I think read is an exaggeration all they have been doing is just putting any topic about it in this one to, in the best case notice that we are not happy. In worst not even reading one word (usually they read 5 words and interpret it completely wrong).

They tell you they’re reading this and weighing the options and apparently you’re still indignant for some reason? Have SOME patience, christ almighty. Take off the ‘I Hate Corporations’ shirt, put away the tinfoil hat, and have even a minor amount of faith. This isn’t EA we’re working with here.

Unfortunately they have a trackrecord of not really reading stuff properly but just picking out sentenced and misinterpreting the meaning completely. Arenanet is extremely poor at communicating properly, in any “crisis” control it is key to communicating fast and clear, they do neither and thus fail, only leading to more uproar. This isn’t EA yet, but they are getting closer to more they behave like this, their rep has taken a hit and the longer they ignore things the harder it will be to fix that damage.

And in all fairness with the scam they pulled they are no better than EA (every sale since HoT announcement).

Appearently this thread is being read by Gaile and her team so here are some starter questions:

Starting Questions
1) Can we get details on the boxed versions? The FAQ is rather vague about it.
Are there any? Will there be a collectors edition (like every other MMO does out there). Do you put more effort in them than with the core game release? (At least on the level of the original GW boxed releases?)

2) How propable are changes?

3) Did you expect the backlash? How much backlash did you expect?

The Issue at hand

The inclusion of the core game devalues the expansion price, as in that it is only for new players. Older player do not benefit from it in any way.
Compairing it to other games who do something like that, you always have the option to sell your older inferior version.
Right now you are selling Guild Wars 2 2.0 and not Guild Wars 2 HoT.
(Compare it to something like Street Fighter, where you get at least 3 updates ranging from Super, Ultra and Tournament edition, you are always able to sell your old version, so it is no complete loss)

It is all about the percived value and right now it is a loss for all who already own the game, since we can only compare it to hat exist and that is the core game.
Since there is no seperate price for the expansion, even if you claim it would be 50$, it just doesn`t feel that way since there is no choice.

Players who own the game pay the same amount as new players, but get less and might even have paid more.
It is not that new players only get the new game, they also get some digital goodies as well. For example they get an armor worth 600-800 gems for free, which is another bonus players who bought at launch don`t have.

Right now the value of the game rises with the time that has passed, minus the time you enjoyed with special events. However i am talking from the “fresh start” perspective.

Of course a veteran got their moneys worth already, even shed out more money, however so far we could choose to do so.
This offer does not give us any choice.

Right now the only thing that is reasonable is in fact the 100$ ultimate edition, even though the “50$” worth of gems on stuff you can dictate the price on, since it is your monopoly is kinda iffy to begin with.

Extra round rant
The digital stuff. Is it really that much worth? The way I see it we see a lot of reused assets. Decorations, Rytlock Mini and the finisher are things that are already in the game, just repurposed. The Rytlock finisher is just boring by the way. He walks by and grabs the spear. Seriously?
The glider skin is the only thing that feels unique and even that feels like a preview for the gem-shop, basicaly saying: You will see more of them at release

I am sorry, as amazing as you devs are you really drop the ball with these things. The digital stuff in the original release was the same. Digital crap, where only 2 of 5 things had continues value. And one of them was a Mini.

To be honest the best reward you ever gave were the HoM skins and for that you had to buy and play 2-4 awesome releases.

I think read is an exaggeration all they have been doing is just putting any topic about it in this one to, in the best case notice that we are not happy. In worst not even reading one word (usually they read 5 words and interpret it completely wrong).

I had historically decided to buy HoT as soon as it was available.

When the pre-purchase rolled around I was super excited and immediately went to the appropriate web page. Then when I got there I hesitated….
In essence as a veteran player I came away feeling that non of the pre-purchase deals suited me and as a result I went away with a collective ‘hmmmph’ and still haven’t pre-purchased it.

I guess I just find it amusing that I went from a 100% yes I’ll pre-purchase to feeling indifferent and thinking I’ll probably buy it ‘when I get around to it’.

Is Anet aware of these kind of responses from people? I’m just struggling with how I’ve almost done a 180 on this.

I think thats how most people feel right about now, I know I do.

So i am going to link this its fun to play with but when you use it ask your self how much is it to make a game or expatiation now becuse this is just inflation only. I like to bring up the ideal of if needed goods and services go up in price then non-needed goods and services should go up too. Its nice to live in a dream world where prices never changes but they do and entertainment tends to changes much faster then needed items. I would not be shocked at one point we will see games nearing the 100$ ranges as they are now (system games).

http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl

What, just tell me what exactly preventing Anet from somehow rewarding existing community by something ingame?
Like if:
- New players get GW2 + HotT
- Old players get HotT + 1000 gems + character slot

Both groups are happy. Everyone celebrating.
But instead, they just ignored old community. I can understand opinion “It costs 50$, i agree”, even if i don’t think so, but i can’t approve ignoring old players at all.

Hell, I would be content if we just get a release date. Doing things like awarding with gems or character slot or wtv the hell vets or new players want is probably too hard for Anet to think about. Ever since this whole debacle started, the community have been posting all kinds of solutions which some sounds a bit too much and some actually solves the problem IMO. But for some reason, the power that be at Anet cannot figure out a solution is beyond me. Are they too far up their own hype train to even comprehend of the damage they collect by not saying anything of substance? Poor Gaile must be tossing back and forth to keep things calm.

Guess we’ll see how this plays out in a couple of days. They can’t ignore this for too long. *

They are trying too.
In all fairness they should have known because from the release onward people have been saying give a character slot with it. Its just typical Anet they ‘listen’ to what the community says (they added the slot on a more expensive pack) but ignore most of it and just remember 2/3 words, then interpret it the way they want and completely miss the point the community was making (another example the big trait changes they did in the past, they took part of what the communtiy said and then did it completely wrong in their own interpretation).

And for those that are saying they just recently bought the game and feel shafted now… If you already knew an expansion was coming out, surely you knew you were going to be paying for it? The game is still months away, and the fact that they mention ahead of time that it’s including the base game is beneficial to players coming in from here on out. Sucks that your timing was bad, but that is not Anet’s fault. You are just in the same boat as ever veteran that adopted the game long ago, and were also ready to pay for an expansion.

Before you start white knighting inform yourself.
The people who bought it recently are being shafted because ever since HoT was announced Arenanet advertised that they had to have the original to play the game and you had to buy it. They bought the game recently because Arenanet said they had to if they wanted to play HoT, and now all of a sudden after a lot of sales they change that. These people got shafted by Arenanet hard. It is beneficial for players from here on out, yet they already shafted all the players that have bought it since the original HoT announcement. It is Arenanets faults and thye are not in the same boat as the vets because they got the game under the pretence they had to to play HoT LIKE ARENANET HAD ADVERTISED. So next time if you come and white knight make sure you know what you are talking about.

But its pretty much everything else surrounding this expansion from the announcement yesterday to the very little and poor responses we got from Arenanet since then (+ decision from the past that make the current ones even worse).

Let me start off by this, I expected the price tagg and planned on pre purchasing the game as soon as I could, planned because this is not the case any longer and the price tagg itself has nothing to do with that.

It is however that they decided to go with a bundle that is pretty much a big middle finger to the people that already have the basic game, their long time supportors + the fact that ever since they announced HOT they have been scamming people to buy the original game because “it was needed for HoT” and now they just say “yeah it is in there and you did not have to buy it seperately”, simply ripping off all those people that bought the original these last few months and making the people who got their friends to buy it
look bad too.

The least they could do is make 2 bundels, one if you already have the original and one if you dont. Or discount sell the expansion alone, because lets face it no matter how many times they want to use the BS excuse we made the original free now, it isnt, its calculated in the price like with all marketing stunts and the players that supported their company from the start are being duped by that.

If they just put HoT as a single item, no original GW2 included and put it at 50 the IMO justified outrage would be a lot less, sure some people would still want a character slot, but a lot of people like myself would have gladly paid it, but not now that I see how they chose to deal with it which is giving the middle finger to long time supporters aswell as scamming people who recently bought the game. And unless they automatically refund each and every person automatically nothing will change the fact that Arenanet in my book have changed from a company that I would gladly support to mere frauds because in the end of the day you scammed lots of people (all buyers from of the orignal version starting from the HoT announcement till now ).

Yes you can say contact support, but you know aswell as I that only a minority will and you will still have scammed all those others out of money.

In all fairness much of the outrage is not about the price tagg, I myself had counted on such a price tagg and planned on buying the game ASAP.

There was a red post on Reddit where they announced that they would “help anyone out who just bought the core game and would like to make the change to a HoT pre-purchase”.

It won’t be automatic and I don’t know to what extent they will offer that help, but I guess that if you specifically bought the game to be able to get the extension you have some chances of getting it.

Source : https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3a46s4/preorders_for_heart_of_thorns_are_now_live/cs96lfu

It wont be automatically and I am fairly certain the amount of people that will request it is not even close to the amount of sales they made and while some will be refunded so that Anet can look like nice guys, they will still have scammed a lot more people.

This is the main point.

Q: Do I have to own Guild Wars 2 to play the expansion?

A: Yes. Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is an expansion to Guild Wars 2 and not a stand-alone campaign, and therefore it requires the base game to play.

That was the reason why I bought the base game. Now I felt I’ve been lied to.

and you have been.

Good to know. I’ll just wait until it’s on sale. There’s plenty of other games on my list to play.

See, now this is completely reasonable.

They track EVERYONE’s account usage every second of every day. If people just wander off starting now and increasing heavily around launch day, they’ll have a stand-alone HoT sale.

Vote with your actions, because the caterwauling here in the forums is not nearly as compelling as a dip in the game metrics.

Good thing a lot of very good games have come out/are coming out, my HoT purchase went from insta buy to maybe after TW3/Fallout4/… from yesterday to today

You know as well as me that is marketing BS, you are already ripping off many people, dont treat them like fools too. Have a bit of respect for your players before you say things like that.

Behaviour like this is wy nobody likes marketeers, you not even made yourself look like a condescending prick but many people in your company too.

Guys, disagree with the pricing all you want, but please don’t attack the Arena Net employees. That’s a human-kitten-being on the other end of that keyboard. It’s also a bad way to argue your point, because you don’t come across very well.

In all fairness they started it by questioning our intelligence with those BS marketing responses.

There is no boxed Ultimate Edition version of the game and no other editions of the game being offered beyond what you see on buy.guildwars2.com.

We have an FAQ that covers this and other questions you may have: https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/94582027-Heart-of-Thorns-Pre-Purchase-FAQ

Well your FAQS are pretty useless since the answer seems to get changed.

To clarify: $50 is the price of the expansion. We included the core game as a free bonus to make it easier for new players to get into it.

What time is it they are at E3 or asleep most likely we will get some type of official response tomorrow.

Man I hate to be any dev at ANET when they read the kitten storm on forums.

I’ld hate to be the guild halls dev because my hard work is going ignored due to this mess created by the sales/marketing guys.

Thanks for making .. out of yourselves +me

(I wrote kitten myself everywhere but you know pretty well which word should be there, also original title was Thanks for not only making an kitten out of yourselves but out of me too but it didnt fit)

And here is why, ever since you anounced an expansion you said you needed to have GW2. After that you have done tons of sales, we though to give people the opportunity to still pick up the game for a good price before HoT came out. Undoubtfully those discounts have given you lots and lots of sales. And now the cat is out of the bag, you pretty much ripped all those people off. They did not at all need GW2 because its part of the expansion(nice example of false advertising there). All those people that bought the game ever since the HoT expansion have been fooled by you, thats why you are making an kitten out of yourself.

Probably one of the damage control responses here will be the same as on reddit, yeah byut talk to out CS and we will work it out. You know as well as I that only a very small minority will do so, making it so that you still look like a good guy cause you ‘refund’ them, while it was just a calculated decision you will still make tons of money out of all those people you fooled that did notrequest a refund, the nice guy is just a facade for the real plan, getting some quick and easy cash before the expansion.

What is even worse though is that you made an kitten out of me, and probably many other GW2 fans who convinced people to still buy GW2 in that period, because we convinced them to buy the game and get basicly scammed by you guys. You used your loyal players and made them look like an kitten for wanting to bring their friends to the game, only to make it out to be a bad deal for easy money. Arenanet I feel used.

Whoever made this call, he deserves a serious paddlin’, cause you not only made an kitten out of yourselves but even worse you made one out of your loyal players who wanted to get their friends in for HoT. And also out of the people that made the guild hall for completely overshadowing their hard work, because as you can see its barely being talked about, only the outrageous business decision made.

Paying for past content?

in Living World

Looking over the LS season 2 blurb I spotted this “Past episodes will be available for purchase for 200 gems”

Does this mean if we want to reply any LS content we need to pay for it in gems? Is it an unlock a chapter forever fee for every account or is it character bound? If we pay for a chapter can we team with people who haven’t?

Personally, not sure how I feel about this move. To me it seems to step over the ‘morality line’ and move GW2 to a payment model I don’t really like..

Hmm

If you log in during the release window of an episode (e.g. two weeks) you unlock the episode for your account. You can replay it as many times as you want for free. If you miss the release window and you want to play an episode that you didn’t unlock, you can purchase it.

It’s a lot like watching television in that you can watch (and record) an episode for free when it airs. If you miss it, you can buy the episode off iTunes later. Does that make sense?

For the record, you can still freely stream stuff if you miss it on television :P

That being said will there be “bundles”, or other options for people who buy the game afterwards, have missed complete arcs and still want to play them? I think following the 200 gems per update formula would get very expensive, and since they are new they won’t have the gold to buy gems.

Narrative Lessons From 15 Months of Scarlet

in Living World

smitske.4912

1. No storytelling outside the game and do not make up new stories while the ones that are currently in the game are just on hold. (hey we still got 3 more dragons, they do nothing for a year and a half and we let crazy scarlet wake another one up!). Not necesarily has to be one of the other dragons, there is so much lore to build upon in the game.

2. The pact and orders, I mean these are huge organizations in the world and they are practically doing nothing, apart from deliviring cannon flodder in events. We need ore involvement from these orders if you go around world changing events like with scarlet. If for example you were to build on triad of evil alliance (nightmare court, inquest bandits), this should not necesarily include the great orders, but should have strong involvement from groups such as peacemakers etc.

3. Don’t wait until the last few episodes to answer all questions/mysteries.

Noteworthy, stuff like the captains council won’t listen when you warn them, don’t do that again. The hero that saved your kitten multiple times, that solved a murder of your own, the savior of this world that has been ‘fighting’ a great evil for a while already as well as other characters that have become well known tell you disaster will strike. Hell even one members of the captains council itself said so, yea lets ignore all that we know better (rest of council), not cool. I mean after knowing about that huge pupper they actually think they can handle it?

Just wait a bit, the trading post is exploding right now but it will calm down.

And if you follow the blogs or posts of the developers frequently you’ll now that they already are addressing the precursor topic. They wanted to include the precursor crafting also for the april update, but something wasn’t as easy as they thought. So it will get a delay, but is still an option.

Actually precursor scavanger hunt was supposed to be added last year, but they missed that deadline and it seems to me we don’t have to expect it this year either. If thats the case then they will have been saying it for 2 years but there will be little improvement.

On the topic of the worderobe thing, first announcement I actually like for the feature content. (well and 2 handed weapons having 2 sigils)

Have to say so far I am rather underwhelmed with ranger changes, I hope I am wrong and that they will prove so in ready up, but I doubt it. To me it seems like every big round of fixing up classes its like crap we forgot something for rangers (again) get the list with the kitten load of issues and lets quickly do one so they don’t notice we forgot them (again). I do hope they prove me wrong the 15th.

Looks like a decent trait to me, though I have to say the fact they are trying to fix LB rangers by adding yet another crucial trait to the MS line is laughable.

Also GL to anyone fighting a lockdown mesmer who cant cover their heal with stealth / stability. Its over before it starts.

Looking at todays updates I think they are killing LB ranger.

I’m glad you are excited, and we are too. This is just the first taste of stuff coming in the build. There will be many more blogs. =)

Everything looks amazing, I’m super excited for all this stuff to go live.

Out of curiosity, would you like to say anything about the ranger GM trait? It seems very underwhelming, especially considering the traits it’s competing against.

Karl and I will be doing a Ready Up livestream tomorrow going over all of the new traits. =)

So rangers can still be utterly disappointed until tomorrow, and most likely after. I mean lets be honest if what it says now is all it does then it is a QoL change and should not be put behind a trait point wall.

I dont see how doubling the projectile speed will make a difference. People rarely dodged the arrows before. Now if they are doubling the base attack speed (yea right), then that will be a significant change for us.

Would be nice, but that would be insanely overpowered and way to strong for a trait, since it will be a must have.
