Thanks everyone for your replies. Some things I definitely had not thought of or didn’t know to look for.
start using rocket charge to combo your fields. it will change everything.
& use that mortar, it’s dope.i play a different cele scrapper build & nothing in pvp atm is causing me issues.
Thanks for the info. What build are you using?
Reapers are fine, tricky though. Dragon Hunters kitten me up beyond belief.
any advice then? I am doing fine with DH staying away from them and dodging traps. And there is like 2+ reapers every game I play so I could use some advice.
How are you handling reaper with this build?

I am having a terrible time against them 1v1 when I’m trying to take a point. Without MOA I can’t really take them down.
How are you using the medic gyro? Are you instantly exploding it or what?
How are you handling druids with scrapper build from metabattle? I can’t seem to put enough damage out to take a decent druid down.
lol why not make a build to knock people off ledges and have some fun break time instead of getting so bummed?
Getting used to it, it is definitely an interesting UX implementation.
Hey what skins are you talking about? I’m out of the loop.
in PvP:
As soon as I see stability running out on my target.
If it’s tornado, I wait for 1 tick to kick the target off the point & immediately switch out of it again, to continue with whatever my build is supposed to do in that situation.
If I get he jugg, I just complete one rotation & switch out as well. everything is better than the melee auto, unless my stuff is already on cd and I need to cleave or stomp.
Jugg can be useful for running away, as well.In WvW:
Pop it right on the first push after my initial dps rota is down. If tornado, I stick on my commander & provide frequent knockbacks + dmg/blind or more cc.
If jugg, I start to harass the enemy blobb & prevent them from healing up / empowering again by cc-spam. usually the elixir S trait aborts this automatically for me, which I then use to get out of perform a stomp if possible. If my commander has special plans & wants me to save it, he usually says this before the first push.
Edit, also the moa is useful for all kinds of situations. More than I’m willing to count down right now^^
Thanks for the info. The one rotation makes sense, I usually get focused down if I turn into the tornado. I do use MOA a ton, its amazing.
When do you pop it? I never get rampage so I am curious when to risk it?
Just go in with stealth pulls and knockback and flamethrower and have a blast. Don’t actually try to win skyhammer.
You can easily dodge hammer too
TBH rogue is always the most uninspired and predictable class as far as gameplay, its always the same. I don’t see where anet could even take it.
Came to say I have not died from a direct attack for an entire week. I have been looking at cause of death everytime. It is always a condition.
Overwhelmingly burning like not even a competition
Great vid. I gotta say whoa, I have been playing this build tonight, it is very fun. Surprisingly agile and survivable, thanks!
Thanks Olrun, that is informative. I am really inbetween maining a engineer, warrior so I was poking around comps to see which are brought more and what roles they fill.
Thanks for the replies. Any info on recent tournaments?
Hey, I was curious where I can find team compositions from recent tournaments, recent tournament data etc…
I am pretty new to the game and liking a few different classes so I was curious which ones appear to be needed in teams more frequently. I understand a lot of this might change with the elite specs. Any speculation?
Thanks
I have been playing GS/Axe-shield and GS/Hammer recently. With all of these classes I usually instantly go on offensive, apply pressure right away.
Ranger, I try to close the gap and GS#4 or Axe #3 and reflect bursts with shield.
Necro I have been charging in, popping berserker stance, burst like crazy after GS#4 and rampage #4, #2, #3, #1, #5 that usually bursts them down then into GS #2, just break fears. I have only had trouble so far with Necros when they get the jump on me.
I had a lot of trouble with a mesmer the other day and we talked a bit. Don’t let confusion stack, make sure to weapon swap condis off. I have had a few long 1v1s with mesmers where we will dance for awhile and then he will stealth and try to get the jump. Be super aggressive and close gaps again. GS #4 and Axe #3 are your friend for sure, when they stealth you can still attack them. Sometimes they will re-appear in a downed state already.
I am still in the lower leagues so, I am still learning as well but I have been pretty successful holding zones in 1v1s so far.
