Transfers for returning players?

P.S. I should mention I know about the deletion of all characters resetting free transferability, but I have a max level char and a level 38 on there…

Are you even serious? Friends of mine deleted 5+ fully geared 80s to transfer for free and I’m completely sure there are players out there who deleted 10s of them. If you have only a single lvl 80 char, there is absolutely nothing to hesitate about, you can get another one in like an hour or two.
Unless you have something extremely valuable bound to a character (dunno what could that be) that you would lose by deleting it, there is nothing you should worry about. As I said, you can get a new 80 in a few hours, or possibly in a few days if you don’t wanna craft-rush it but play casually instead.

Okay, but doesn’t it seem kind of counter-intuitive for the game to require players to delete characters they have invested time in just to transfer to a server with their friends?

And a level 80 in 1-2 hours? This is new to me, unless the game has changed…

He’s either referring to leveling by crafting, which can take a lot of gold because they nerfed the 1-400 crafting from 10 to 7 levels each and to go to 400-500 on the others can be extremely expensive as you need to discover and craft exotics (and I assume you have no ascended mats to refine so you will not get the exp for doing that) or he is referring to leveling with tomes, which I assume you don’t have. (You would also need the required mats to craft to level. Not cheap to buy if you don’t already have them).

well either that, or you can pay gems. Even transfers to the most expensive servers, are they not only around 300G? Because I imagine that your friends want to play with you too, you all could pool that together

Though these are completely valid solutions that appear to be the norm, they’re incredibly expensive and it still seems strange to me that a more player-friendly system hasn’t been implemented, at least so for inactive players who want to return. I don’t have that much ingame currency as I wasn’t a /rich/ level 80 so to speak.

Hey ANet & GW2 players,

I used to love Guild Wars 2 and played it for hundreds of hours until eventually, I drifted away but with plans to return in the future. I was fully aware while I played that Server Transfers costed money in order to combat WvW abusal. However, recently I have been hoping on coming back to the game and playing with friends, but I am on a different server to them, and I really don’t want to pay the pretty substantial amount of money to transfer to their server just to let me WvW with them (because I can still do guesting).

Shouldn’t there be some sort of.. 6-month or 1 year transfer token distribution in favour of returning players? I can’t be the only person who has had this kind of thing happen, as returning to the game with intent of changing servers is, I expect, a relatively common occurence.

Thanks!

Sorry for the delay, but I contacted support as soon as it happened and deleted a number of mails and nothing happened. I have no response from support as of yet, so I was wondering if anyone else had experienced mail delay.

EDIT: Solved! I was deleting personal story mails which I didn’t realise BYPASS the 10 mail limit. Deleting player mail worked out for me and I got a LOT of wizard hats I had trouble buying before haha Thank you for your help all.

I bought 200 gems for 4 gold and 60 silver and then I went on to buy some Fine Transmutation Stones. The Stones are in my purchase history, the hint came up saying ‘When you purchase something from the gem store, it appears in your mail’ but the mail never actually reached me. I deleted other mails to see if it would come through. Please help as I feel like I’ve been scammed half my gold.

We should be able to see how much Magic Find we have.

Whats up, forums.

I feel that our MF stats should really be displayed in the portion containing Attack, Critical Chance, Armor etc. This would make it so much easier for us who care about our Magic Find, knowing how much base/maxed MF you have is really key to gathering success data.

Thanks for reading!

Hi.

I’m playing on a relatively new laptop and I am experiencing ~30fps all low on subsample. When I put things on low and go to native rendering I drop to ~10fps. I should be expecting more on my system, right?
