My biggest problem with the WvW monthly is not that it is PvP (I still don’t like that it isn’t in the PvP tab, but whatever).
My biggest problem is that the way WvW works killing other players is never the focus. I can capture 15 points in one day and get credit for killing 3 players. Either because the mob of allies killed them before I could do enough damage to get credit, or the enemy ran away so they wouldn’t be killed when the gates fell.
Which with the long walks back after a death, no one really wants to take part in a serious fight in WvW. You take pot shots from walls or chase down some poor guy probably trying to get to the jumping puzzle. So requiring killing players as a monthly achievement stinks.
I am surprised that AC path 2 is considered hard.
Every explorable group I have been in has used that as a farming run. After trying the scepter route I did find option 2 MUCH easier.
Didn’t have access to the other computer just yet so I decided to give it one more shot.
I set EVERYTHING to the lowest possible graphical settings. Not sure if that was the trick, but I managed to finish the quest

You are not the only person. I really wish this could be fixed.
I plan on trying to attempt this quest on a different computer to see if it is hardware related.
I too am experiencing this same issue.
First time going through the quest I got all the way to the end where you fight the gate guardian. With his health near 1/3 my computer crashed. Many bad noises and the screen went red.
On the second attempt I had just initiated combat with the Eye of Zhaitan when the same thing occurred. Bad noises and my screen flashed to solid grey. A second later the music went back to normal, but the computer would not respond. Both times a hard shut down was needed.
Up until this quest I have had no trouble with running any part of the game at maxed graphics. On the second attempt I tried with everything set to medium.
