Minipets will still uncheck the hide/unhide button after gliding for extended periods of time.

I like my minipets and having to open the hero panel after gliding gets old really fast in the new maps.

Avatar healing skill #1 is slow my allies are usually out of the way by the time it hits.
My only downside and worry is event credit.

Staff #2 (and grandmaster Cosmic Wisp): Maybe the Wisp that flies around the target should damage enemies it passes through as well and heal allies .Or tack this ability onto the Grandmaster for a bit more of a multiuse ability.

The new pets feel pretty great.

I can understand just forgoing healing events as they are now but in a video it was said that the new area is going to be tougher and you are going to need to watch yourself and use strategies. I get where you are coming from now, because events are really easy and you barely have to touch your heals, but in HoT this sounds like its going to change.

WvW is going to be a lost cause because there is going to be no way to focus your team and heal unless you just completely ignore your F5 skill which is where all of your life saving abilities are and if that is the case then there is no reason to bring a druid spec if you are just going to use half of it and do mediocre damage/healing you are better off just going full DPS and kill the enemy faster.

I love the druid preview, the the only question I have is how is a Druid going to get credit for events, bosses, and wvw loot bags?

I’m all for the heals and new direction you are giving players (excited even) but if I keep everyone else alive and get no credit for something I’m also helping a group achieve, I’m not going to be playing a support spec for long in the open world and wvw.

I know you can still deal damage but when a large amount of people attack or a large number of mobs come into play it seems like that is when you need to be in your Avatar state helping your allies survive and not hitting anything with damaging abilities to tag them. This is when you as a Druid would be missing out on your own loot and event credit.

Am I missing changes to how credit is earned or is everything still tag (damage based) in Hot? Or are there plans to change it?

I’d feel better about Distracting Daggers if it was more like a mantra and the 2nd cast of the skill didn’t have a 15 second duration. It feels too short and you have to prep it before a fight or else you will get interrupted casting it or miss the chance to use it altogether.

I agree with GS being a bit too slow, in PvE it was enjoyable and gimmicy and I was seeing some rather large numbers. But when I tried out PvP I felt like a giant trying to play whackamole with a bunch of jackrabbits.
It was hard to land hits and when I did they came too far apart the other person usually was healed up from the damage I had done. I can see where it could taking getting used to, but at the same time I feel could just put my dagger/warhorn back on and have faster and better results.

I don’t know if its a bug or the problem I’m noticing with most of the reapers attacks, they have a long windup and most things can be out of range buy the time it actually hits. I’ve had to stop running around like a dumdum and focus more.

Bell, you are missing the point. Dust storm gives blind and vuln on pulse. I’m not upset that they have an aoe blind. I’m upset they decided that the 2 traits which granted that functionality on well were OP and required a very hefty and long ICD and yet gave the same thing to ele’s yet on a smaller scale.

People were rightfully upset when this change happened. As Bawb said most of our blinds come on an AoE basis which makes the trait pointless since the target you probably would want Chilled wouldn’t be Chilled and therefor gain the additional effects your traits grant it.

AoE: 5
Plague, Well of Darkness, Dagger (it bounces), Haunt (Minon), HoT Greatsword

Single Target: 1
Signet of Spite

Unreliable Single Target: 2
Corrupt Boon, Well of Corruption (technically an aoe but the target has to have fury)
Both of these need to flip fury.

The reason why I posed this is yes this is about a utility skill vs a Eles weapon skill.
But, ours has a 50 second CD untraited, theirs is 30 seconds.
They also essentially get another well on warhorn as Wildfire. Which mirrors our Well of Corruption and I’ll admit both share the same 40s cd.

That is 2 utility slots for us which most people use for wells or at least one well, Ele’s get to pick whatever Utilities they want while having around the same functionality and 2 other abilities.

I suppose my problem is this: I’ve sat here and read these forums and wondered why everyone was so salty about necros. I could pull off decent damage, outlive most things, in the few pvp matches I’ve hardly ever lost a fight unless grossly outnumbered or turned into a ping pong ball.
But now that I’ve ranked up a bit in mmr I’m understanding everything better. Our second “healthbar” means nothing when I’ve seen it literally burst through in a matter of seconds with my own HP following. Our Utilities offer no defense like some other classes, I use my utilities for damage because my own weapon skills offer none and most definitely do not offer the burst I need to finish someone. Yes there are ways to do this, but in the scheme of things it doesn’t matter when the only defense I can use is my positioning, dodges, and Death Shroud. Once I get cc’d or knocked down I might as well forfeit the fight.
Eles yes require skill to play, you have to know when to use what to live, but so does Necro and yet Ele it is much more effective. Their damage is carried on their weapons and they are free to choose utilities that help them survive or turn a fight on top of having positioning and dodges. The icing on the cake was the Tempest and my only consolation is the fact that I didn’t decide to main a Guardian or I’d strangle myself with my new bowstring. (but even then guards will still be wanted over a necro)

Chilling Darkness used to have no icd. They changed it last patch to have a 5 second one with no warning.

Well at least we know why they decided to give Chill of Darkness a 5 second cooldown. It would of made the Ele’s new earth warhorn skill look like something they copied from a Necro and they couldn’t have that.

Now, when we traited Chilling Darkness (Blinding a target will also apply chill) and traited Bitter Chill (Chilling a foe inflicts vulnerability) from two separate trait lines we basically had the new Ele skill Dust Storm only we could chill the target instead of doing damage.

I’m not even going to go into Wildfire’s boon stripping abilities while being a fire field with not 1 or just 4 pulses, but 8 pulses??

Ele’s new warhorn to me is like a pocket well Necro. We’ve been reduced to warhorns.. Ele’s stole our voice litterally, shouts and all.

edit: (since someone didn’t know) Chilling Darkness had no icd when the patch first hit and was changed suddenly with no explanation to have a (5s) icd. I think this is the reason.

It would be nice if they could follow you but… I only ever use them in pvp (sans healing turret but you pretty much destroy that right away) and even then I don’t want them to move. Its nice to be able to put down a thumper on base and have to knock people off while you are somewhere else at the time.

If they did add movement into the game I wouldn’t mind something like the ritualist had in gw1 where they could summon the spirits (turrets) they currently had up to their current location. That way you still have to manage them and they arn’t running around all willy nilly.
The only way I see them adding that though is through a new elite skill.

Now I’d much rather see them try and work out a way to lower the CD even more if you pick up a turret instead of detonating it. That way you could place it and move it more often.

Honestly. I don’t think they look bad with female clothing. I do wish I had some of the female medium armor sets as the males tend to be awefully generic, but I can see how with some(if not most) of the light armor it might look odd to see on a female Asura

No you only get the effects when you have the legendary out as your current weapon. This goes for all the legendary weapons.

That said, If you want a legendary go for it. I made Quip for my engineer and I love it.

I’m just praying that they will up the damage of the kits/conjured weapons in a later patch. I understand not wanting a entire class to get a free damage increase, but I am sad that even if we have a legendary or ascended weapon they will not scale.

I really enjoy my engineer in pve and the small amount of wvw I’ve started to get into. I think Anet is going in the right direction with engies.
But with that said.. The only gripe I have is while I love the class I hate the fact I’ll never see my back items and Anet always seems to forget pistol/shield skins when they come out with new things. I love all the new skins that champions drop but I was sad that the was no pistol skin and the shield skin was a guild emblem one

Also stability.. Its nice to pop elixir X and have it, but I’d like some sort of auto response trait like a warrior has or even a utility still that is longer than 1 second.

Magitech armor missing clasps

They might be ‘slightly’ stretched if they were there since the Asuras torso is not human.. but they managed to carry over everything else which was why I bothered to make this post.
Plus the little marks that the clasps line up on are still on the chest and they look odd with nothing tieing them together with the rest of the set.

It doesn’t bother me too much that they are missing but now that I’ve noticed they are gone that’s all I can see.

I noticed the other day that my Female asura was missing the chest claps on the Magitech armor. I don’t know if this was intended or not (I’m assuming not since the armors usually copies the males) but I thought I’d post here to let someone know.

I don’t know if male asura have this problem since I don’t have one.

Think of it in terms of character progression as you level your gear starts to get more intricate and more cloth/detail is used. I can’t say I ever thought of it as the sexy staple, nor was I ever bothered by it or looked at it as something that would stop me from playing.

If your wife is deterred get her to understand there are many other armor sets to choose from and you can buy (or recieve from zone completion) transmutation stones to make one piece of armor look like another. In the end if that doesn’t work point her towards the asura. They use the male armor model so they are ‘usually’ more covered.

honestly if they just made it so the weapons wouldnt dissapear when you equiped a kit I would be okay with that. (pistols still stowed on your hips, rifle slung on your back) it wouldn’t break anything with the kits and hopefully you could still have the footprint effect of your legendary at least.
or they could just copy the elementals attunement buff. as a asura engineer the backpack is too small to id from a distance anyways. Most of the time my backpiece glitches and shows through my engineer kit and makes what I have on even harder to id

Its hard to come up with abilities that still feel like an engineer. Instead of a weird warrior.

Honestly any thing I can up with is a reinvented copy of the Tool Kit, and that is probably why we don’t have the option to wield a hammer.

If you want realism you are playing the wrong game. Period.

Grenade kit: I know I would not enjoy grenades as much if every time I threw a grenade this happened: http://tinyurl.com/m6bsdlb
There are no average ‘men’ in gw. I’m pretty sure that a Charr would lob the crap out of a grenade while an asura would throw it a grand total of 3 feet.

Toolkit: Wrenches can be heavy. What boggles me is you didn’t even touch the magnet. I’m pretty sure my asura would fly towards the person i was trying to pull instead of visa versa.

Bomb kit: If every time you dropped a bomb on your feet in game and it hit you, I’m pretty sure no one would use this kit. Elementalists dont go around with soggy wrists because of a water atunement, or burn’t off hands because they lobbed one to many fire spells.

Elixir gun: The auto attack is a tranquilizer dart. If you hit an elephant with one it doesn’t explode and hit every other elephant in the vicinity. The only aoe damage you would get would be if the elephant fell over on the thing you wanted to kill.

Flamethrower: I’ll admit I thought things would burn like mad. But when you think about it if you were targeted with a flame thrower you wouldn’t be instantly on fire. It takes a bit before you would actually burst into flames. Hence why the non-traited burn is at the end of the cast. The power behind this is the intensity of the flame. Sure the burning hurts, but if you wanted to be realistic you would have to hit the human melting point and that doesn’t happen with a zippo lighter.

Med kit: It offers swiftness/fury, 3 heals and a condition removal. If I wanted to heal my party I’d whip out the turret, it does a better job than me running around with a bandage furiously slapping them across the face shouting ‘HEAAAAL!!’. And if your party is on its toes you can get many blast finishers in your overload. I found medkit (before the turret buff) more enjoyable for solo play out in the world. I’d run into my own bandages and it took care of myself like a normal med kit would in real life.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I love all kits as they are implemented right now. I love the quirkiness of it. Engineers are all about trial and error, things that explode, and unintended effects. Its great, I love it I hope it never changes.

I just want the light helm for my engineer. It looks amazing on a little asura.

But in the long run I think the medium armor fits an engineer better than the light one would.

For me it’s the same as Ping,
I’m getting the same as I usually have. It just feels slower/nerfed thanks to the invulnerability they have now.

Female asura have an option like that as well. I think it is just a way of making the ears look different from one another. I wouldn’t call it a bug.
