I know issues with Nvidia cards and shadows seem to be present currently. I would say your in the same boat. Other than turning them off I have not heard anything that is a fix yet. Make sure drivers are updated.
Would not hurt to post your current driver build and ingame display settings.

Truth is, an AMD cpu+mobo is about 2/3 of the price of an Intel system, maybe even less, and it’s usually nets the same performance (-10% max) and I’m a broke university student
AMD can be a miss sometimes, but it’s usually lazy developers who don’t optimize for it, assuming everyone has the de facto Intel gaming pc
99.5% truth
0.5% false
Sometimes its the engine they choose to build the game on.

at 400-500KB it will take a pretty long time, 9-11 hour mark sounds about right at that speed given you keep that rate.

Honestly a screen shot would be fun to see.
You can try running all the diagnostics on the site but honestly reloading it fix’s the majority of minor glitches.
PS I always suggest keeping a copy of the downloaded file before opening to make sure you have a fresh copy to save time!

I have it on a 1100T but its far different in power. If you plan on sticking with this system i would suggest doing to the upgrade regardless. If not I am sure a good i5/i7 would do wonders.

well it will run better for sure, your CPU is a bottleneck and additional ram (and adding dual channel) will help a lot. However please take into consideration, Socket type am2, am2+, am3 to make sure your mobo can support it also keeping an eye on your max ram in the mobo (I know some of that era were cheap and limited it to 4GB).
I can’t remember specifics atm but I know there is a thread on GTX550 optimization somewhere that may help a little.
I would agree don’t worry about your HDD’s unless they are grinding, knocking or whining.

Agreed, Also I know some random outages have been starting to happen with login servers. Although I have only noticed them at night during heavy usage.
Port foward
Virus check
firewall disable (check ports first)
Windows update
Driver updates
All are things that can contribute but most follow with an error message of some sort.

Well that sounds about right for the computer specs you have listed, I would make sure you have your drivers for the Nvidia updated but other than that make sure GW2 is in full screen for the best FPS. There are many FPS tweak posts if you want to go looking for some help.

Its a power related issue, I suggest trying shutting the computer completely off rather than sleep mode and see if it continues. Although I do not have this issue and my system goes to sleep all day.
Other thoughts:
Make sure windows has updates done to it.

Please Jungle Quack post your laptops specs, rather than posting "This a tech support forum. It is not the place to post such things. " over and over.
Proc
Ram
GPU
As well as the current driver build for your GPU.
Also posting your graphic settings for the game and any type of aftermarket clock set for the computer would be helpful.
On a side note since some areas of the game are more demanding than others please keep in mind laptops are not the best at cooling, depending on your model you may wish to prop it up so some cool air runs all around the base. If this is a possible issue there are programs that adjust fan speeds at a more aggressive rate than stock.

I was having some issues with my 990fxa’s integrated sound with this game, randomly it would start this slowly pulsing tone (rather loud) and cut all other sounds from the game away. Windows audio would function correctly still, I then adjusted the sound quality in game but it would continue to play the tone. So quitting GW2 then relaunching seemed to fix it.
I also get a glitch with some hunter summoned pets being far louder than other sound while that pet is alive (foot steps, wings), soon as it dies and they re summon one I have no problem.
Recently I purchased an ASUS sound card and made sure all drivers were up to date. I get the issues still (not as often but that may be a coincidence.). So I am not sure what to do from here, I am re downloading the game now. Any flags I should run before reloading it?
